Abstract: A control apparatus for a roof glass specifies the selection position of the selection switch when an output voltage from the selection switch is determined to be included in any of the allowable ranges predetermined respectively for the selection positions of the selection switch. The selection position of the selection switch is settled when the specified selection position has not changed even when a predetermined time passes after specifying of the selection position of the selection switch. When those selection positions which have been settled at a time of making the current decision and at a time of making a previous decision satisfy predetermined conditions, the roof glass is allowed to operate to a position corresponding to the selection position of the selection switch settled at a time of making a current decision.

Said trigger signal is used on the object side to phase code a reference signal (B). The code generator (6) encodes a response signal (D) using the trigger signal in a phase-coded manner and retransmits the response signal. The received response signal is compared with the generated reference signal in an object-side evaluation unit using an autocorrelation function (PHI). Abstract: Disclosed is a circuit for stabilizing a high tension voltage of a CRT and a method thereof. A feedback unit receives a cutoff voltage from the CRT. A compensating unit calculates a variation quantity of the cutoff voltage on the basis of the cutoff voltage from the feedback unit. The variation quantity of the cutoff voltage is compared with a high tension voltage compensation data stored in a storing unit according to the variation quantity of the cutoff voltage. Accordingly, the circuit for stabilizing the high tension voltage of the CRT and the method thereof can overcome inaccuracy of the high tension voltage compensation due to delay, and cut down the production cost by removing an ABL circuit and a high tension voltage compensating capacitor. Since the ABL circuit is not used, it is also possible to perform partial compensation according to an alternating current variation quantity.

Abstract: A pulse generation circuit delivers an output pulse whose width is tailored to the load. The pulse generation circuit comprises the following components. A drive circuit has an input coupled to receive a clock signal and an output coupled to drive a load. A comparator has an input coupled to the output of the drive circuit. Another input of the comparator is supplied by a reference voltage. A feedback circuit comprises logic gates and is coupled between the output of the comparator and the input of the drive circuit. The feedback circuit terminates a pulse output from the drive circuit when the pulse voltage output from the drive circuit exceeds the reference voltage. The reference voltage is higher than a voltage required to trigger the logic gates and a voltage required to drive the load. This ensures that the load is driven adequately over a wide range of load currents and capacitances.

Abstract: An superconducting electric motor is operated as a traditional squirrel-cage induction motor until the rotor reaches synchronous speed, at which point a current is trapped in a superconducting film by heating a portion of the superconducting film above its critical temperature, allowing the magnetic field generated by the stator coils to penetrate into the superconducting material and to induce a current. The superconducting material is then allowed to cool down below its critical temperature, thus trapping the current and allowing the motor to operate as a synchronous motor utilizing the magnetic field created by the direct current circulating in the superconducting material.

Abstract: A method for attaching a part to a body of a resonator, which body is made by the process of extruding. In a pushing part (ES) of an extrusion machine is made a recess, which is shaped like a portion of the surface of the additional object. An additional object (320), such as a portion of the inner conductor of a resonator, is inserted prior to extrusion in said recess so that said portion of the surface of the additional object rests tightly against the surface of the recess and the rest of the surface of the additional object remains free. In the extrusion stage, the pushing part with the additional object is pressed (F) against a bloom of a resonator body whereby the material (31c) of the bloom is pressed tight against the free surface of the additional object. When the pushing part is retracted the additional object remains attached to the body element.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for adjusting the temperature-dependent property of a surface acoustic wave device is provided. The method is appropriate for a temperature-dependent property that is expressed by a cubic function of a surface acoustic wave device using an in-plane rotated ST cut quartz crystal plate. The invention therefore provides a method for adjusting the temperature-dependent property of a surface acoustic wave device using an in-plane rotated ST cut quartz crystal plate having Euler angles of (0°, 113-135°, ±(40-49°)). The range of Euler angles is defined so that the temperature-dependent property of the surface acoustic wave device, using an in-plane rotated ST cut quartz crystal plate having the temperature-dependent property expressed by a cubic function, has an extreme value within the temperature range of −40 to +85° C.

Abstract: An ultrasonic motor comprises a stator, a rotor and a fixing portion. The stator has a first block, a second block and a piezoelectric element, which is held between the first and second blocks. The piezoelectric element vibrates when receiving a drive voltage having a predetermined frequency, and the stator produces resonance vibration in accordance with vibration of the piezoelectric element. The rotor is pressed on the stator in a slidable manner and rotates due to the vibration of the stator. The fixing portion is provided on the stator to fix the stator to a predetermined support portion. The fixing portion is formed in such a way that a natural frequency of the fixing portion comes off a frequency range of the drive voltage where the rotor is rotatable. This structure provides an ultrasonic motor which is quiet and has high energy conversion efficiency.

Abstract: The invention relates to a piezoelectric drive (1). This comprises an excitation piezoelement (10) and a resonator (2) which is coupled to this and which is in interactive connection with a body (3) to be driven. The resonator (2) has a mass distribution which is designed in a manner such that as a result of an excitation oscillation by the piezoelement (10), the resonator (2) begins to asymmetrically oscillate in several directions dependent on the frequency of the excitation oscillation, and these oscillations via the interactive connection displace the body to be driven into a directed movement.

Abstract: The invention described herein supplies a new class of electroactive polymeric blend materials which offer both sensing and actuation dual functionality. The blend comprises two components, one component having a sensing capability and the other component having an actuating capability. These components should be co-processable and coexisting in a phase separated blend system. Specifically, the materials are blends of a sensing component selected from the group consisting of ferroelectric, piezoelectric, pyroelectric and photoelectric polymers and an actuating component that responds to an electric field in terms of dimensional change. Said actuating component includes, but is not limited to, electrostrictive graft elastomers, dielectric electroactive elastomers, liquid crystal electroactive elastomers and field responsive polymeric gels. The sensor functionality and actuation functionality are designed by tailoring the relative fraction of the two components.

Abstract: A track assembly, adapted to be mounted in a housing, having first and second rail members aligned with one another and allowed limited relative longitudinal movement with respect to the other. The joined first and second rail members have a mounting bracket attached to distal ends of the rail members. A spring, positioned between the rail members, provides a force extending the distance between the distal ends of the rail members. A locking mechanism interacts with the rail members and has a locked position resisting inward movement of the distal ends. The method of installing the track assembly in a rack is accomplished by compressing the track assembly to reduce its overall length prior to positioning it between opposing rack members. The track assembly is released to securely engage the opposing rack members and locked in position.
