Abstract: A tailgate seat system for use with a pickup truck includes a back, a seat, and a hinge connecting the seat to the back. The hinge permits the back to freely pivot with respect to the seat, including to form an L-shaped position and also a folded U-shaped position. The tailgate seat system also includes a substantially rigidly supported pole extending along the back to maintain the back in fixed L-shaped or U-shaped position with respect to the seat. The back and the seat each include a rigid panel topped with padding. The back and seat can be upholstered or otherwise treated for comfortable use in seating. The seat can sit atop a tailgate, and the back can extend upright from the seat. The tailgate seat system is conveniently stowable in minimal space of a pickup bed. Abstract: A vehicle switching system includes a controller, a headlamp switch, and a series resistor arrangement. The controller has an input connected to a voltage divider. The switch has a contact movable between positions with each position being associated with a respective headlamp function. The switch is connected to the input of the controller. A top end of each resistor has a connection point associated with a respective switch position. A bottom end of the resistor at the bottom of the series is connected to an electrical ground. Upon the switch contact contacting a connection point a circuit including the resistors between the ground and the connection point is formed such that a signal having a voltage is input to the controller. The voltage of the signal is dependent upon the resistance of the resistors forming the circuit. The controller enables the headlamp function corresponding to the voltage of the signal.

Abstract: The invention in the simplest form is an improved hybrid power converter with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power quality capabilities as well as an integrated variable speed power source and control method that is used to generate high quality, uninterruptible AC power utilizing fewer batteries and operating at optimum fuel efficiency and with reduced emissions. The variable speed generator control scheme allows for load adaptive speed control of a power source such as an engine and generator. The transformerless hybrid power converter topology and control method provides the necessary output frequency, voltage and/or current waveform regulation, harmonic distortion rejection, and provides for single-phase or unbalanced loading. The transformerless hybrid power converter also provides inline or offline UPS capability, line voltage and/or frequency sag and surge compensation, peak shaving capability, VAR compensation and active harmonic filtering.

Abstract: A sine wave generation circuit and an uninterruptible power supply system (UPS) using the same, and more particularly, a sine wave generation circuit and a UPS using the same, which can output a sine wave for direct current (DC) power from a battery. In the UPS, a rectifier rectifies commercial alternating current (AC) power from an input terminal and converts the AC power into DC power. A charger charges a battery with the DC power. The battery provides the DC power. A DC-DC converter boosts and/or drops the DC power inputted from the battery by a predetermined level of the AC power. A D-class amplifier receives the DC power from the DC-DC converter and outputs a sine waveform power signal in response to a waveform control signal. A sine waveform controller controls a sine waveform generation operation of the D-class amplifier.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the invention, a sensor element device for a capacitive contact switch can be formed from a foam body with several portions. There are electrically conductive areas with a sensor element surface and an electrical contact face, as well as insulating areas. The sensor element surfaces engage from below on a glass ceramic plate. The areas can be interconnected in cylindrically elongated and juxtaposed manner. This leads to a type of strand material from which with the predetermined spacing it is possible to produce juxtaposed, capacitive sensor elements as parts of contact switches.
