Publication number: 20060162189Abstract: Some studded footwear, such as sports shoes, require studs (6) to be specifically oriented relative to the shoe sole (1). The studs (6) may be specifically oriented in the receptacles (5), and thus the receptacles need to be oriented relative to the sole of the shoe (1). Means are provided therefore for orienting a specifically-oriented receptacle (5) for a shoe stud (6) in a multi-layer shoe sole (1) comprising co-operating orienting means (13) on the receptacle (5) and an outer shoe sole (2), the co-operating orienting means being operative to physically retain the receptacle (5) in the correct orientation relative to the outer shoe sole (2) at least until an inner shoe sole (3) is secured to the outer shoe sole (2). Thus the co-operating orienting means serve to ensure that a specifically-oriented receptacle (5) is physically held in the correct orientation relative to the shoe sole (1), at least until the shoe sole is completed by attachment of an inner shoe sole (3).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2004Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Lee Shuttleworth, Paul Kelly

Publication number: 20060162195Abstract: An apparatus for dewatering dredge spoils includes a floating barge having a planar upper surface or deck. One end of the barge, such as the stem, is partially flooded or otherwise ballasted so that the deck slopes downwardly from the bow toward the stem. Dredge spoils removed from a waterway are deposited onto the bow where they flow down toward the stem. A plurality of concrete blocks on the deck form an attenuator that, in turn, defines one or more settling ponds on the surface of the barge. A weir across the stem of the barge forms an additional settling pond at the rear of the barge. Solids suspended in the water removed from the waterway settle out onto the deck when the dredge spoils are deposited onto the bow. Remaining solids suspended in the water deposit onto the deck as the water flows through the settling ponds. The relatively clear water that remains then flows back into the waterway off the stem of the sloped barge after passing through the settling ponds.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Brian Langdon, Kenneth Preston, Thomas Coultas

Publication number: 20060162218Abstract: A device for loading powder and a projectile into the muzzle of a muzzle loading firearm. The device consists of a hollow cylindrical tubular body with a rod (“ball starter”) attached for loading a firearm. The tubular body has an elongated bore or cavity that is preloaded with a measured quantity of powder and a bullet. The tubular body fits onto the barrel, with all elements in line with the barrel opening. To load the firearm, a pin which holds the powder and bullet in place must be pulled, and the ball starter pushes all the elements into the barrel, followed by a ramrod to prepare the rifle for firing. The pin is held by an elastic band outside the tubular body during loading and post loading it is removably repositioned and held in the cavity by the flexible band. The present invention includes a groove along its longitudinal side for storing the ball starter prior to use; the ball starter is held in place by a removable flexible band.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: Douglas Church

Publication number: 20060162220Abstract: A firearm has a frame, a slide, a striker-type firing pin (“striker”), and a fire control mechanism including a sear to controllably release the striker and a trigger bar for actuating the sear. An automatic positive striker lock safety includes a pin-like safety element biased downwards to normally block the striker. The bottom of the pin is rounded, and cooperates with a rearwards facing, sloped surface on the trigger bar. If striker becomes free to move forward without full rearwards movement of the trigger bar, the pin blocks the striker. However, rearward movement of the trigger bar forces the pin upwards. As the trigger bar reaches its fully rearward position, the pin is moved to unblock the striker, and the sear is actuated for releasing the striker.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Applicant: Smith & Wesson Corp.Inventors: Brett Curry, Gary Zukowski

Publication number: 20060162221Abstract: A gun locking device includes a tube that fits within the bore of a firearm and extends from the muzzle to the chamber. A first subassembly on the tube moves between a locked position, in which radial balls extend from the tube to obstruct removal of the tube from the barrel, and an unlocked position in which the tube may be removed. A second subassembly coupled to the first subassembly enables a user to move the position of the first subassembly. Operation of an actuator knob on the second subassembly causes a compression rod within the tube to rotate a threaded riser at the first subassembly to drive the radially moveable balls. The actuator knob can be locked with the tube secured in the barrel. Optionally, a barrel locator cap prevents rotation of the actuator knob unless the muzzle of the barrel bears against the second subassembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Robert McLaren, William McLaren

A stop, a cocking rod, a firing rod, and an energizing element are mounted in the interior space. The cocking rod may transfer energy to the energizing element. A trigger attached to the cocking rod is selectively movable through an opening in the stop for releasing the energizing element's energy. A trigger release assembly proximate the trigger includes a ball bushing slidably coupled to the cocking rod and a button extending through the elongate shaft. A rod tip is included for selectively retaining an item of fishing tackle attached to a fishing line. Means are included for anchoring and locking the position of the fishing line. In use, energy is transferred to the energizing element and then selectively released to automatically cast the fishing line by swinging the rod in a traditional casting motion or by pushing a button.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Jesse Moss, Sherry Moss

Publication number: 20060162232Abstract: The present invention relates to fishing, and more specifically, provides a fishing lure and method for attracting a fish to strike an artificial lure. The present invention is further adapted to enhance the likelihood of setting the hook in the fish once the fish strikes the lure. One embodiment of the present invention provides a fishing lure with an elongated soft body where the soft body is attached to the fishing line at an intermediate portion, and the lure contains at least one hook positioned near one of the soft body free ends.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: Rodney Allen

Publication number: 20060162233Abstract: The invention relates to a fishing rod float in which one half-section (1) is stacked on top of another half-section (2). In this way, a longitudinal through hole is formed in the float for the fishing line, through the joining of two grooves (3, 4). In addition, a rod is inserted into the aforementioned hole in order to clamp the line and fix same.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2002Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: Alfredo Hueso Pajares

Publication number: 20060162234Abstract: Disclosed is a magnetic holder for fishing flies in which the flies have a hook including a shank portion, a bend portion, and a point portion. The device includes a base having an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface has an array of hook receiving slots formed therein, each slot having a bottom surface, opposing side surfaces, and a substantially completely open top. Each slot has a width and depth sized to receive at least one of the point portion and the bend portion of a hook. At least one magnet is held by the base and positioned such that at least a portion of a surface of a magnet forms at least a portion of the bottom surface of each slot.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: John Gagnet
