During the initial portion of the flight the majority of the propellant mass for the upper stage is stored in the lower stage. This minimizes the mass of the upper stage allowing the upper stage main engine to provide sufficient acceleration to lift the capsule off of the launch vehicle and to move the capsule away from the launch vehicle to a safe distance with sufficient speed in the event of an emergency. It can also be used to lift the crew or payload capsule to a sufficient height for recovery systems to be employed successfully in the event of an on-pad or low-altitude launch emergency.

Abstract: A clamping device for rigidly securing a web camera, or other object, to a monitor. The clamping device includes a body portion and a clamping portion. Springs are provided within the device that allow the clamping portion to be slid away from the body portion against the bias of the springs. A first flipper is mounted to one side of the body portion and a second flipper is mounted to an opposite side of the body portion. The clamping device is positioned on the top edge of the monitor so that a front support portion of the clamping portion is positioned against a front surface of the monitor above the screen and the flippers are positioned against a back panel of the monitor. The spring tension between the clamping portion and the flippers rigidly secures the clamping device to the monitor.

Abstract: A rack system is disclosed that includes a mounting bracket that is operable to couple a rail to a post having either of two possible configurations. The mounting bracket includes a pair of hooks. The hooks are sized to couple the mounting bracket to a post having square apertures. The hooks of the mounting bracket are coupled to a spring. When the mounting bracket is coupled to a post having round holes, the placement of the bracket against the posts causes the hooks to recede, thereby allowing the mounting holes of the mounting bracket to be directly adjacent to the holes of the post.

Abstract: A Bracket that attaches to existing pieces of furniture to hold or support a shelf or other horizontally positioned member. The bracket has a U-shaped body and is made up of a furniture-engaging portion and first and second upstanding portions connected to the furniture-engaging portion. The bracket is shaped to cooperatively receive a shelf end between the upstanding members and against the furniture-engaging portion. Indentions in the bracket locks the shelf end in place as it is positioned inside the upstanding members. Bolts in the existing furniture piece loosened so that the bracket can receive these bolts through mating adjusting openings. The bolts are then retightened to secure the bracket against the existing piece of furniture.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for portable electronic devices includes a mount (12) with a mounting ball (16) that mates with a socket assembly (22) formed in a housing (18) of an electronic device (20). The socket assembly includes an orifice (32) formed in the back of the housing, a seat (34) positioned in the orifice for matingly receiving the ball, and a spring element (36) partially surrounding the seat. The seat includes a concave center portion (38) and a plurality of flexible, interconnected arms (40,42,44) extending from the concave center portion. The spring element substantially encircles the flexible arms to allow the flexible arms to flex outward when receiving the ball and to then contract inwardly to contact the ball when the ball is seated fully in the seat.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a mounting assembly (100) for mounting an electronic device (D) to a surface (S). The mounting assembly (100) generally includes a base (102) including a mounting ball (110) and a socket assembly (104) operable to frictionally engage the ball (110) to removably couple the socket assembly (104) to the base (102). The base (102) may be removably coupled with the surface (S) and the socket assembly (104) may be removably coupled with the electronic device (D). Such a configuration enables the electronic device (D) to be easily positioned in confined environments by first attaching the base (102) to the surface (S), then attaching the socket assembly (104) to the base (102) and positioning the socket assembly (104) in a desired orientation, and finally attaching the electronic device (D) to the socket assembly (104).

The X-axis slideways are horizontally spaced out in a predetermined distance. Each X-axis slideway comprises: a fixed track having a trench; a shorter movable track mounted in the trench; and a connection plate movably embedded in the movable track. The Y-axis slideways are horizontally located between the X-axis slideways. Each Y-axis slideway comprises: a fixed track having a trench; a shorter movable track mounted in the trench; and a connection plate movably embedded in the movable track for connecting the slideable plate with the Y-axis slideways. Accordingly, the keyboard bracket can be pulled out or pushed back by shifting the slideable plate along the Y-axis slideways and the keyboard bracket can be shifted leftward or rightward by shifting the slideable plate along the X-axis slideways.
