Abstract: The present invention is to provide a grounding part of hard disk (HDD) against EMI and shock, which includes a HDD body and two conducting frames, wherein the two conducting frames are composed of a narrow vertical plane and two parallel planes extending along two corresponding sides of the vertical planes to form a U-type conducting frame with an opening, a plurality of elastic projections are disposed on the two parallel planes of the two conducting frames, and the openings of the two frames just accommodate the two corresponding sides of the HDD body. When the HDD body and the two conducting frames is installed in a containing room of an electronic device (e.g. notebook computer), the requirements of shock protection, EMI protection and grounding for the HDD body is achieved by virtue of the compression of those elastic projections.

Abstract: A system and method for an improved multiple hard-disk-drive data-storage enclosure. Some embodiments position drives in counter-rotating pairs, each simultaneously accessing half the data, such that seek-caused actuator rotational-acceleration vibration cause simultaneous canceling rotational torque. Some embodiments position the edge of a first drive (or drive pair) at an angle to the actuator midpoint of a nearby second drive (or drive pair), such that rotational-acceleration vibration from a seek-caused actuator rotation in the first drive does not cause a rotational movement into the second drive that affects the tracking or seek operation. Some further embodiments position drives in a herringbone pattern to redirect air flow in addition to reducing rotational-acceleration vibration interaction. Other embodiments include a printed wire circuit board mounted to reduce the rotational-acceleration vibration interaction.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an improved cooling system and associated cabinet for electronic equipment, and optionally, a backup ventilation system for cooling related failures. Generally, the disclosure includes a high capacity closed loop refrigeration system in a modified cabinet, while accommodating standard sized computer equipment. Further, the system provides directed heat removal by altering typical airflow paths within the cabinet. The backup ventilation system is powered by auxiliary power in the case of power failure and uses the same fan(s) for ventilation as is used for cooling. The disclosure provides a more efficient, higher capacity cooling cabinet in less space than otherwise known in the art. Further, the cooling system can anticipate heat loads and therefore operate in a predictive capacity by monitoring input power to the electronic equipment and adjusting the cooling for the expected increase or decrease in heat load generated based on the input power.

Abstract: A light-emitting module includes a substrate, multiple light-emitting devices arranged thereon, and a package enclosing the multiple light-emitting devices. The package has multiple optical devices corresponding to the multiple light-emitting devices that converge and emit rays of light emitted from each of the light-emitting devices. When the outgoing rays of light emitted from the light-emitting device is extended toward the substrate, the package has virtual light-emitting regions spaced farther from the optical devices than the respective light-emitting devices, and the virtual light-emitting regions are located almost at the same position.

Abstract: The light array of this invention includes a number of columns and rows of LED's connected in a series/parallel combination. The series parallel combinations effectively optimize the impedance, accommodate failure rate, facilitate light mixing, provide a means of imbedding redundancy, and common cathodes or anodes. This arrangement provides a superior light source for consumer, industrial and specialty markets in respect to mean time between failure, process control, radiant intensity, wavelength mixing, power requirements and other characteristics of the light source. Each column includes a number of rows of plural LED's. The LED's in each row are wired in series and each column is wired in parallel so that if one LED fails only the LED's connected in series with the failed LED will also fail. There is redundancy in the circuit as well as the arrays so that if there are failures different current carrying elements or different series LEDS will automatically by powered on.

Abstract: A projecting apparatus includes a lamp module, a reflection module, an image module, a projection module, a photo sensor and a control unit. The lamp module generates a beam of first light. The reflection module receives the beam of first light and reflecting a part of the first light to form a beam of second light. The other part of the first light passes through the reflection module to form a beam of third light. The image module generates a beam of fourth light according to the beam of second light. The projection module projects the beam of fourth light to form an image. The photo sensor senses intensity of the third light and outputs a sensing signal accordingly. The rear face 34a has a cylindrical surface that extends in the lateral direction, and the curvature of a convex curve, which forms the cross-sectional shape of the cylindrical surface taken along the vertical plane parallel to the optical axis Ax, gradually reduces according to the increase in the distance from the optical axis Ax in the lateral direction, thus allowing the curvature of the convex curve to be maintained at a substantially constant value in the lateral direction and further preventing the diffusion angle of the light into the lens in the vertical direction from increasing in the lateral direction.
