Abstract: In a method for operating an injection molding machine an actual clamping force is measured during an opening and/or closing movement of a mold half along a travel path. A force pattern of a maximum allowable clamping force and/or a minimum allowable clamping force is predefined along the travel path, and the measured actual clamping force is compared with the maximum and/or minimum clamping forces, respectively. When the actual clamping force surpasses the maximum clamping force or falls short of the minimum clamping force, a time measurement is started, wherein a drive of the mold half is switched off, when the time measurement exceeds a predetermined time duration.

Abstract: A method for making a customized nipple for a pacifier or baby bottle. The method provides for molding an exact non-toxic material replica of the mother's breast, nipple, and areola area from a mold so that when the replica is filled with a non-toxic gel-like substance and adhered to a backing, the pacifier so created has the firmness, color, rigidity, and texture of the mother's natural breast, nipple, and areola area. Further, the simple to use mold is sent to a core facility which stores the identifying information with the mold once a first pacifier is created therefrom. Moreover, the mother can re-order or re-make the pacifier as needed over time. The pacifier so provided is a safe and effective pacifying device which promotes good emotional, muscular, and bone structure development for the baby, and at the same time, provides the mother with confidence and independence.

Abstract: A metal powder production apparatus includes a supply part for supplying molten metal and a nozzle having a first member and a second member by which an orifice for injecting water is defined. The first member has a gradually reducing inner diameter portion. A heat insulating layer for cutting off radiant heat emitted from the molten metal is formed on the gradually reducing inner diameter portion of the first member. the nozzle is configured to ensure that the gradually reducing inner diameter portion is prevented, under an action of the heat insulating layer, from being thermally deformed by the radiant heat of the molten metal but a region of the first member near the orifice is thermally deformed in such a direction as to reduce a size of the orifice by absorbing the radiant heat of the molten metal, whereby the orifice can be restrained from being enlarged by the pressure of the water passing through the orifice.
