  • Patent number: 7250576
Abstract: A chip package including a chip extension for containing thermal interface material (TIM) and improves chip cooling, and a related method, are disclosed. In particular, the chip package includes a chip, a cooling structure coupled to the chip via a TIM, and a chip extension may be thermally coupled to an outer edge of the chip. A TIM placed between the chip and the cooling structure is contained during thermal cycling by the chip extension such that void formation at the edge of the chip, which can move between the chip and cooling structure, is suppressed. The chip extension also improves lateral heat dissipation by providing a greater thermal contact area between the cooling structure and the chip and, if needed, the substrate at a much lower cost than using larger die with lower production unit output from a wafer.

  • Patent number: 7250580
Abstract: There is disclosed structure which overcomes the deficiencies with respect to prior art devices by providing a wiring device such as a switch having a paddle that pivots about its upper end and is biased to assume the same at rest position when either in its on position or off position. Repeated pressing and releasing the lower portion of the face of the switch paddle alternately closes and opens a set of contacts within the switch to alternately connect and disconnect a load form a source of electricity each time the paddle is pressed. Thus, regardless of whether adjacent switches are on-off switches or 3-way switches, they will always be in alignment. An on-off indicator such as a small light is provided to indicate to a user when the contacts of the switch are opened or closed. The paddle of the switch has a length-width ratio dimension that is proportioned to provide a finger contact surface of increased area to allow a user to more easily and quickly identify and operate a particular switch.

  • Patent number: 7250589
Abstract: Microwave hyperthermia treatment device includes a microwave generation unit, a power supply unit, and a control unit including an exposure-time actuation timer, an intermittent actuation timer, a second-device connecting terminal, and a remote switch. Two microwave hyperthermia treatment devices are connected with each other via the second terminal connecting terminals for simultaneous use flanking the torso along either side of an affected area, whereby superposed strong microwaves are irradiated. The temperature of tumor(s) in the affected area can thereby be brought to about 43° C. in about 1 minute, rendering lengthy treatment periods unnecessary and thus alleviating temperature stress on the patient. Two remote-control switches to the control unit can be provided, one of which may be given to a patient for use as an emergency stop switch, eliminating the necessity of having to insert a temperature sensor in the body, which also alleviates the burden on the patient.

  • Patent number: 7250597
Abstract: Avoiding an illumination light irregularity to the utmost under increasing degree of integration and the memory capacity by suppressing a light amount irregularity on the illumination pupil plane to the utmost, unable to be adjusted by a conventional method. When the light amount irregularity on the illumination pupil plane which is the exit surface of the optical fiber is relatively large, focus of the imaging surface of the CCD camera is switched from the sample to the illumination pupil plane by a focus switching lens. The light amount irregularity is calculated and analyzed by the image processor. Based on the analyzed result, the exit surface position of the optical fiber is adjusted in the illumination optical system. In this manner, the illumination pupil plane which is the exit surface of the optical fiber can be adjusted to an illumination pupil plane where the light amount irregularity is small.

  • Patent number: 7250622
Abstract: After a housing of a cassette is opened by a suction cup, then a stimulable phosphor sheet is removed from the cassette by a shiftable roller and then fed in an auxiliary scanning direction by a feed mechanism. While being fed in the auxiliary scanning direction, the stimulable phosphor sheet is irradiated with a laser beam emitted from a stimulating optical system. Light emitted from the stimulable phosphor sheet upon exposure to the laser beam is guided through a light guide to a photoelectric transducer. After the recorded radiation image information is read from the stimulable phosphor sheet, the stimulable phosphor sheet is stored back into the cassette, and erasing light from erasing light sources is applied to the stimulable phosphor sheet in the cassette to erase remaining radiation image information from the stimulable phosphor sheet.

  • Patent number: 7250623
Abstract: One surface of a stimulable phosphor sheet supported at a position for image recording is exposed to radiation, and a radiation image is stored on the stimulable phosphor sheet. Image readout is performed from the side of the other surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet supported at the position for image recording. Energy remaining on the stimulable phosphor sheet is then released by irradiating erasing light to an entire area of the stimulable phosphor sheet with a sheet-shaped erasing light source, which has uniform transmissivity to radiation and is located close to the one surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet supported at the position for image recording.
