The preform (15) is subject to the melt-drawing process to form a plastic optical fiber (17). The drawing tension to the preform (15) is measured by use of a drawing tension measure device (76). Based on the measured value, a drawing roller pair (78) adjusts the drawing tension to be 3.8 MPa. The plastic optical fiber (17) is fed via a dancer roller (82) and rollers (84, 86) toward a bobbin (87) to wind the plastic optical fiber (17). A winding tension measure device (85) measures the winding tension to the POF (17). Based on the measured value, the dancer roller (82) changes its position to adjust the winding tension to be 2.5 MPa.

Abstract: The present invention is a process and apparatus for conserving loss of heat while forming and crystallizing polymer particles in a liquid. The cooling liquid quenches the polymer during particle molding to facilitate shaping. The cooling liquid cools the polymer particles not below a temperature that allows adequate crystallization to occur. Cooling liquid is quickly switched with a warming liquid, so the temperature of the polymer is in the crystallization range and the heat of crystallization self-heats the polymer to a higher temperature.

The polymer coating is preferably a thermoset polyimide resin with embedded PTFE particles. The PTFE particles are preferably concentrated in the upper surface of the polyimide resin and purer polyimide resin is concentrated at the lower surface in contact with the metal. In use, a thermoplastic is extruded over the mandrel. The polymer coating seals the metal surface and due to the location of the PTFE particles, the polymer bonds strongly to the wire but does not bond with the plastic being extruded thereover. Under appropriate tension, the polymer-coated metal mandrel is elongated and drawn down in diameter to release the thermoplastic tubing from the mandrel.

The first sealing member is provided on the inner annular frame and has a main lip touching the interior side of the middle plate. The second sealing member is provided between the middle plate and the outer plate. The first and second sealing members can prevent lubricator in the tank of the seal from leakage and prevent outer dust from entering the tank.

Abstract: A hydrodynamic sealing assembly including a first component having first and second walls and a peripheral wall defining a seal groove, a second component having a rotatable surface relative to said first component, and a hydrodynamic seal comprising a seal body of generally ring-shaped configuration having a circumference. The seal body includes hydrodynamic and static sealing lips each having a cross-sectional area that substantially vary in time with each other about the circumference. In an uninstalled condition, the seal body has a length defined between first and second seal body ends which varies in time with the hydrodynamic sealing lip cross-sectional area. The first and second ends generally face the first and second walls, respectively. In the uninstalled condition, the first end is angulated relative to the first wall and the second end is angulated relative to the second wall. The seal body has a twist-limiting surface adjacent the static sealing lip.

Abstract: There are provided a plurality of pressing members (2) provided in the radial state with the tips oriented to a central axis (O) of a substrate (1) capable of moving back and forth the tips to and from the central axis (O) on a prespecified plane; a rotational body (3) rotatably provided on the substrate (1) around the central axis (O); and driven units (25, 32) for moving forward tips of the pressing members (2) toward the central axis (O) in association with rotation of the rotational body (3) to apply force to the ring with the tips of the pressing members (2) from outside of the ring. In this state, force is applied to the ring with the tips moving forward from outside of the ring. Furthermore, hooking units (16, 26) for hooking the ring on the tips are provided. In addition, a holding unit (7) is provided for positioning and holding a mounting body against the central axis (O).

Abstract: A chuck for a laser cutting/engraving rotary fixture comprises a chuck plate having a chuck plate axis of rotation and at least two mount brackets spaced symmetrically radially with respect to one another about the chuck plate axis of rotation. Each mount bracket comprises an inclined contact surface and each mount bracket is rotateably attached to the chuck plate about the mount bracket axis of rotation. The inclined contact surface can be selectively rotated between a first position with the inclined contact surface inclined toward the mount plate axis of rotation and a second position with the inclined contact surface inclined away from the mount plate axis of rotation. An effectively concave contact surface is defined with each of the inclined contact surfaces in the first position. An effectively convex contact surface is defined with each of the mount brackets in the second position for engaging an inner diameter of a work piece.
