Abstract: Needle-spring locking device for pump-injectors (injectors) of diesels, in which in order to significantly increase the lift and closing pressures of the nozzle needle, the locking spring (17) is disposed in the central cavity of the body around the outer surface of the plunger's bushing (2) and is connected with the needle (14) via a transversal cross-arm (15) disposed in the plunger bushing (2). This allows for increasing the average diameter of the needle spring (17) from 1.2-1.4 cm to 2-2.5 cm, and the spring power from 35-50 kgf to 180-220 kgf, respectively. In this case, the lift pressure of the nozzle body (10) (when the needle diameter is 0.6 cm) can amount to about 1200 kgf/cm2, and the closing pressure of the nozzle body (10) can amount to about 800 kgf/cm2, which corresponds to maximum injection pressures of 2000-2500 kgf/cm, as required for ensuring greater fuel efficiency and lower exhaust smoke and particle matter emission in future diesels.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a cigarette-making machine of the tobacco-injecting type includes an improvement being a handgrip that provides improved ergonomics to a user of the machine. The handgrip is configured to project upward from a top surface of the housing of the machine to position the user's hand distal from the compacting chamber and the hollow nipple, thereby preventing potential user injuries. Furthermore, the handgrip is configured on the top surface to provide the user with a convenient location to apply a downward force to the machine to prevent the machine from sliding on a surface without damaging components of the machine. In another embodiment, a cigarette-making machine of the tobacco-injecting type includes an improvement being an adjustable volume compacting chamber. The cigarette-making machine may include a volume-adjusting member that is configured to axially partition the compacting chamber into a tobacco-receiving portion and a vacant portion.

Abstract: A grasping device for retaining an article includes a carriage extending in a loop between opposing ends with the carriage defining an opening. A jaw extends from each of the ends and away from the carriage to a respective tip for retaining the article between the jaws. The carriage is spring biased such that application of force to the carriage moves the ends and the jaws away from one another to release the article. Likewise, eliminating the force applied to the carriage moves the ends and the jaws toward one another to retain the article. A fastener extends from the grasping device for attaching the grasping device to a surface. The fastener includes a pin for attaching the grasping device to a surface and the fastener is rotatably connected to the carriage for rotating the fastener between an extended and a retracted position.

Abstract: There is provided an aerosol generating apparatus which is capable of generating aerosol stably. The aerosol generating apparatus includes a container which mixes a particulate material and a carrier gas to generate a fluidized bed of the particulate material; an aerosol delivery tube which sucks a part of the fluidized bed to deliver the part as an aerosol containing the particulate material and the carrier gas; an optical sensor which measures a position of the fluidized bed; and an adjusting unit which adjusts the position of the aerosol delivery tube based on an information about the position of the fluidized bed measured by the optical sensor. By moving an end of the aerosol delivery tube horizontally along and relative to the top surface of the fluidized bed, it is possible to avoid harmful effect that particle size distribution in the fluidized bed becomes locally non-uniform.
