Abstract: A trashcan/liner dispensing system that is an integral part of the trashcan. The invention involves a pouch located on the upper, exterior portion of one of the sidewalls of the trashcan that contains a disposable cartridge filled with plastic liners. The sides of the pouch containment area are lined with retention devices thereby minimizing the movement of the contained liners during use. By locating the dispenser on the outside upper portion of the trashcan, the size of the trashcan is only slightly increased and the cartridge of plastic trashcan liners is not susceptible to soiling by trash that may leak from the liner that contains trash inside of the trashcan.

Abstract: An improved molded, reinforced pressure vessel having a winding foot on the liner tank which includes a head, disposed away from the tank and a narrowed neck extending between the head and the tank wherein outer radial dimensions of the head are greater than outer radial dimension of the neck. The improved foot design allows windings to cover more of the liner tank that maximizes the reinforcement provided by the winding and in blow molded liner tanks, the narrow neck restricts the migration of material out of and away from the foot, thus producing a stronger liner tank.

Abstract: A protection device of a DC-powered nail gun includes collar mounted to a connection rod on the trigger and the collar has an inner diameter larger than an outer periphery of the connection rod so that when the trigger is not pulled, the collar is positioned to pivot a second switch so that the push member of the shooting unit of the nail gun cannot activate an activation button on the second switch when a new battery pack is installed. By the collar and the pivoted second switch, the nail cannot shoot even if the push member is powered and moved by the new battery pack.

Abstract: A staple drive assembly includes an actuation sled and at least one staple pusher. The staple drive assembly is adapted to fit within a staple cartridge having a plurality of staples and a corresponding number of retention slots. The at least one staple pusher includes at least one pusher plate for releasably engaging a backspan of a staple. The staple pusher may include a plurality of pusher plates that may be laterally and longitudinally spaced apart. An actuation member has at least one angled camming surface for engaging a complimentary angled surface of the at least one staple pusher. Camming engagement between the actuation member and the at least one staple pusher causes vertical movement of the at least one staple pusher. Lateral and longitudinal offset of the actuation member camming surfaces and the corresponding staple pusher following surfaces improves stability and control of the staple pusher during firing.

Abstract: A bonding apparatus capable of efficiently performing surface treatment using microplasma and a bonding process to an object to be bonded including a plasma capillary having a tubular plasma capillary main body made of an insulating body, a cylindrical external electrode provided outside the tubular plasma capillary main body, a linear internal electrode provided at the center of the inside of the tubular plasma capillary main body, and a seal gas nozzle provided at the outer circumference of the tubular plasma capillary main body. Microplasma produced within the plasma capillary is sprayed from the main body opening, and performs the surface treatment to a bonding pad while being sealed from an ambient air by a seal gas flow sprayed from the annular opening. In conjunction with the surface treatment, bonding is performed using a bonding capillary.

Abstract: A new pressure-only molten metal valving apparatus and method is provided. This novel approach to controlling the flow of liquids eliminates the need for active, moving valve components. Using the natural surface tension properties of liquids, the gas pressure either activates liquid flow when a threshold is overcome or retains the liquid in a head, even when lifted.

Abstract: A method is provided for permanently joining a first metallic component that is formed from a 5000 series aluminum alloy material and a second metallic component that is formed from a steel alloy material. One of the first and second components is provided with a layer of an aluminum alloy material that is different from the 5000 series aluminum alloy material used to form the first and second metallic components, such as a layer of a 6000 series aluminum alloy material. The layer of the 6000 series aluminum alloy material can be provided as a coating on the selected one of the first and second components or in solid form. After the layer of the 6000 series aluminum alloy material can be provided on the selected one of the first and second components, the first and second components are secured together without the application of heat, such as by magnetic pulse welding, friction welding, and the like.

Abstract: An ultrasonic welding apparatus and method for detaching or effecting release of an ultrasonic welding tool stuck or attached to a weldment. The method includes the step of utilizing a mechanism mounted adjacent to the ultrasonic welding tool to hold the weldment in position during welding and/or while the ultrasonic welding tool is withdrawn and, if necessary, using the mechanism to detach the weldment from the ultrasonic welding tool. The method contemplates providing a twist, rotary or axial motion to one of the ultrasonic welding tool or weldment to effect release of the ultrasonic welding tool. The apparatus may include a clamp member having a distinct clamping area or pad located adjacent to the sonotrode or anvil of the ultrasonic welding tool. The clamp mechanism provides vibration control, noise mitigation, and a more uniform boundary condition during welding and facilitates part release upon the completion of the welding process.
