Abstract: A path configuration for a power switch and driver can introduce independent parasitic inductance coupled to the power switch to slow a switching speed of the switch and reduce voltage spikes on the switch during switching events. The path for low side supply of the drive to the negative DC voltage reference is separate from the path of the power switch to the reference. The resulting reduction in voltage spikes due to the slowed switching time maintains performance in an audio amplifier without modifying a switch command signal to compensate for voltage spikes. The path configuration avoids reliance on specifying higher rated components that increase application costs.

Abstract: A feedback-type variable gain amplifier including a first field effect transistor, a feedback circuit, and a load circuit. The first field effect transistor receives an input voltage signal through an input node, amplifies the input voltage signal, and outputs the amplified input voltage signal through an output node. The feedback circuit is coupled between the input node and the output node, and generates feedback impedance that is changed in response to a control signal. The load circuit is coupled between the output node and a voltage source, and generates load impedance that is changed in response to the control signal to cancel a change of input impedance due to a change of the feedback impedance. Therefore, since the input impedance is not changed when the gain of the amplifier is changed, a voltage standing wave ratio is good, and a range of gain control is broad.

Abstract: The present invention, generally speaking, provides a VCO linearization technique applicable to advanced loop architectures. In particular, the linearization technique is applicable to a mostly-digital frequency locked loop (FLL), phase locked loop (PLL) or the like using multi-point modulation. In an exemplary embodiment, a correction table is used to form a corrected control variable that affects one modulation point only (e.g., a fast modulation path) of the multi-point modulation circuit. The other modulation point (e.g., a slow modulation path) of the multi-point modulation circuit is controlled in accordance with an error-forming circuit including a loop filter. The use of correction within the fast path enables the VCO to achieve more rapid phase changes than would otherwise be possible, an advantage in high-data-rate communications applications, for example.

The LO generation schemes presented are operative to generate I and Q square waves at a designated frequency while avoiding the well known issue of harmonic pulling. The phase signals are input to a pulse generator which outputs a plurality of pulses. The pulses are input to a selector which selects which signal to output at any point in time. Abstract: A striker pin in a thermal switch configured as a mechanical link between a bimetallic disk and an armature spring. The striker pin includes a pin of molded ceramic material. The pin has a generally cylindrical shape, a first axial end, and a second axial end. The first axial end is fastenable in fixed relation to an armature spring. A metallic film is fused to the second axial end. A metallic/synthetic deposit is fused to the metallic film such that the metallic/synthetic deposit substantially covers the second axial end.

Abstract: When a demodulated signal of a radio signal in Ch1 transmitted from a TPMS transmitter is acquired, a control IC controls the frequency of a signal inputted from a PLL circuit to a mixer into a frequency for converting a TPMS radio signal into an intermediate frequency signal of a specific frequency. When the demodulated signal of the radio signal transmitted from a portable unit through two frequency channels is acquired, the control IC determines a channel whose state of communication is favorable from between Ch2 and Ch3, and controls the signal frequency for conversion into a frequency for converting a keyless radio signal in the determined channel into an intermediate frequency signal.

Abstract: A system for tracking railcar identification and location within a rail yard including readers positioned near rail yard switches and remotely connected to a system data processing computer, typically a PC. The readers include antennas for interrogating RFID tags attached to railcars with radio waves. Identification data obtained from the RFID tags is transmitted from the readers to the system PC via electrical power lines within the rail yard. Processing of the data to standard T-94 format is shifted from the readers to the system PC thereby reducing the processing capability required at each reader.

Abstract: A portable electronic device having an RFID function has an RFID antenna having a planar coil formed by winding a conductor. The RFID antenna is a loop antenna having a loop diameter corresponding to RFID with a strong electromagnetic field characteristic, and has an antenna pattern where a part of its coil turn which is other than an innermost coil turn is placed inward of the innermost coil turn. The antenna pattern can be provided by bending or branching a part of a coil turn of the conductor which is other than the innermost coil turn in such a way that the part of the coil turn is laced inward of the innermost coil turn, thereby ensuring compensation for the magnetic field strength at the center portion of the antenna and achieving excellent communications without a non-communicatable area even with the RFID having a slight electromagnetic field characteristic.

Abstract: The semiconductor device includes a signal processing circuit, an antenna circuit that is connected to the signal processing circuit, and a storage means that supplies electric power to the signal processing circuit. The signal processing circuit receives and transmits information through the antenna circuit, generates a direct current voltage from signals received by the antenna circuit, and stores the direct current voltage in the storage means. Furthermore, the antenna circuit has an antenna portion that receives signals by an electromagnetic induction method and an antenna portion that receives signals by a microwave method so that signals of frequencies from a wide band can be received. Because signals from a wide band can be received, the environment in which the storage means can be charged is widened.
