    Abstract: A safety device that can close the paper passage of a shredder has a touch board pivoted in the vicinity of the shredder opening. When the board is under a pressure produced by fingers touching the opening, it is rotated about its pivotal axis. Its rotation drives a transmission mechanism and a closing element to close the opening. Therefore, the fingers cannot go into the opening and get hurt. Once the pressure on the touch board disappears, a restoring element pushes the touch board back to its normal position and brings the closing element away from the closing position. The opening is thus open again.

A modular bulkhead panel may be used that can support a plurality of payload platforms such that the layout of the plurality of payload platforms on the bulkhead panel can be altered without requiring structural redesign. A carbon composite honeycomb structural frame panel may be used. Multiple bulkhead panels can be stacked to handle larger payload weights. Hollow hexagonal keyways can be used to permit cable access to and from a missile deployment module. Hexagonal payload adapter platforms may be used to join the payload to the honeycomb bulkhead panel.

In one embodiment, a ram air inlet configured in accordance with the present invention includes an inlet lip spaced apart from an inlet housing. An inlet door is moveably attached to the inlet housing, and includes a first surface portion, a second surface portion, and a transition region extending between the first and second surface portions. The first surface portion is moveably positioned at least approximately forward of the inlet lip. The second surface portion is fixed at an angle relative to the first surface portion, and is moveably positioned at least approximately aft of the inlet lip. The transition region is positioned at least approximately adjacent to the inlet lip to form an inlet opening therebetween. Movement of the inlet door in a first direction reduces the size of the inlet opening to thereby decrease the flow of ram air through the inlet.
