  • Patent number: 7396879
Abstract: Residual monomer in a polymer matrix may be reduced by a method including admixing a polymer matrix comprising an amount of residual monomer and a conjugated diene. This method can be carried out under reaction conditions such that the amount of residual monomer is reduced. The monomer comprises at least one electron withdrawing substituent and the conjugated diene comprises at least one electron donating substituent. This method is particularly useful for reducing the amount of residual styrene monomer in polystyrene homopolymer and copolymer compositions.

  • Patent number: 7396880
Abstract: The invention relates to polymeric resin blends containing polyelectrolyte resins blended into a polymer or copolymer matrix. Specifically, the polyelectrolyte resins are (co)polymers without hydrolyzable groups. The matrix polymer is a tough, and highly chemical-resistant (co)polymer, preferably a fluoropolymer. The polymeric resin blend is useful for forming films, and especially films useful for MEAs for use in fuel cells.

  • Patent number: 7396881
Abstract: Polyethylene blend compositions suitable for rotomolding, rotomolded articles, and processes for rotomolding articles are provided. The polyethylene compositions include a first polyethylene having a melt index of 0.4 to 3.0 g/10 min and a density of from 0.910 to 0.930 g/cm3; and a second polyethylene having a melt index of 10 to 30 g/10 min and a density of 0.945 to 0.975 g/cm3. The composition has a density of from 0.930 to 0.955 g/cm3 and a melt index of 1.5 to 12 g/10 min, and the first and second polyethylenes differ in density by from 0.030 to 0.048 g/cm3. These compositions exhibit improved physical properties, such as Environmental Stress Crack Resistance and Izod Impact Strength. Articles produced from the compositions may also exhibit improved impact resistance properties, enhanced ductile break properties, and improved deflection resistance, which represents a combination of creep and fatigue resistance.

  • Patent number: 7396885
Abstract: A photo-setting and thermosetting resin composition comprises (I) a partial adduct of epoxy resin with unsaturated aliphatic acid, (II) (meth)acrylates, (III) a photocrosslinking agent, (IV) liquid epoxy resin, and (V) a latent curing agent. The resin composition can be easily charged and plugged into a through-hole, does not drip down, and can be effectively photo-set and thermoset. A photo-set product prepared of the resin composition can be easily polished. A plugged-through-hole printed wiring (substrate) board prepared of the resin composition does not cause defects such as hollows, cracks, blisters, peelings and so on, is excellent in solder-resistance, does not corrode a metal part, and can produce an appliance of high reliability and long life which does not occur short circuit and poor electrical connection.
