Publication number: 20080284387Abstract: A method of operating an isolated bi-directional dc/dc converter to provide voltage regulation at a no-load condition over a wide voltage range and also provide overshoot protection for the boost mode main switching transistors uses new boost mode drive waveforms. The new waveforms drive switches S2 and S4 to be turned off during boost mode and only S1 and S3 are switched to provide reverse energy flow at no-load. In boost mode, C1 and C2 provide overshoot protection caused by leakage inductance of the isolation transformer when boost mode drive transistors turn off during forward energy flow and provide stored energy for reverse energy flow during reverse energy flow periods used for voltage regulation in the boost mode. In buck mode, C1 and C2 provide soft switching for buck mode main switching transistors S2 and S4.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2007Publication date: November 20, 2008Inventors: KEMING CHEN, Steven E. Publication number: 20080284389Abstract: A power supply apparatus that supplies an operating voltage to a microcomputer reliably resets the microcomputer before operation becomes unstable when an external power supply voltage decreases due to interruption. A switching regulator and series regulators are included. An externally supplied power supply voltage is stepped down to generate an intermediate voltage. The intermediate voltage is stepped down to generate an operating voltage for a microcomputer core. The intermediate voltage is stepped down to generate an operating voltage for an I/O port. Publication number: 20080284431Abstract: In a method for determination of the measurement workflow of a magnetic resonance tomography apparatus in the generation of slice images of a subject, a number of slice images to be generated is established. A total number of measurement regions is established for each of the slice images, with one measurement being necessary for the acquisition of the data of each of the measurement regions. An individual measurement sequence is determined for each slice image, comprising an excitation and a determined number of successive measurements of different measurement regions of the appertaining slice image, with a number of measurement sequences being necessary for acquisition of all measurement regions of the appertaining slice image. The individual measurement sequences are to be distributed to a determined number of measurement streams is determined. An order is established as to the distribution of the entirety of measurements of a respective slice image among the measurement streams.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2008Publication date: November 20, 2008Inventor: Alexey Fishkin

Publication number: 20080284432Abstract: In a method for controlling a magnetic resonance system with a number of individually controllable transmission channels, a limited number of antenna control parameter sets are available that are associated with respective different examination situation classes that are defined with regard to specific examination situation parameters. The antenna control parameter sets include, for each of the transmission channels, a channel value or a channel value combination with which a relative amplitude and a relative phase of a radio-frequency signal emitted via the appertaining transmission channel are defined. Respective current examination situation parameter values to be associated with the examination situation parameters for the magnetic resonance measurement to be implemented are then detected and one of the examination situation classes is selected based on this.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2008Publication date: November 20, 2008Inventors: Juergen Nistler, Wolfgang Renz

Publication number: 20080284433Abstract: An ultra-low magnetic field NMR system can non-invasively examine containers. Database matching techniques can then identify hazardous materials within the containers. Ultra-low field NMR systems are ideal for this purpose because they do not require large powerful magnets and because they can examine materials enclosed in conductive shells such as lead shells. The NMR examination technique can be combined with ultra-low field NMR imaging, where an NMR image is obtained and analyzed to identify target volumes. Spatial sensitivity encoding can also be used to identify target volumes. After the target volumes are identified the NMR measurement technique can be used to identify their contents.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2007Publication date: November 20, 2008Inventors: Robert H. Publication number: 20080284434Abstract: A method for displaying diffusion data includes defining intra-voxel coherence and inter-voxel coherence of the diffusion data. On the basis of the inter-voxel coherence and the intra-voxel coherence, a multiplicity of tracks can be defined. Only those tracks having a selected characteristic are displayed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2006Publication date: November 20, 2008Inventor: Van J. Wedeen

Publication number: 20080284435Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging system includes main magnet (20) that produces a substantially spatially and temporally constant main magnetic field within a field of view. Magnetic field gradient coils (30) impose selected magnetic field gradients on the main magnetic field within the field of view. At least one radio frequency coil (44, 44?, 44?, 144, 154) is arranged to detect a magnetic resonance signal induced by an applied radio frequency pulse. The at least one radio frequency coil includes a radio frequency antenna (90) and electronics module (78, 78?) disposed on a substrate (72). The electronics are electrically connected with the radio frequency antenna (90). The electronics are mounted in a centered region (96) surrounded by the radio frequency antenna.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2004Publication date: November 20, 2008Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS NVInventors: Johannes Overweg, Peter Mazurkewitz, Christoph G. Publication number: 20080284436Abstract: A radio frequency coil includes a non-cylindrical conformal surface (62, 76) that substantially conforms with a magnetic resonance subject. A plurality of conductor loops (60, 71, 72, 73, 74) are disposed in or on the non-cylindrical conformal surface. The plurality of conductor loops are configured to produce a substantially uniform Bi field in the magnetic resonance subject responsive to energizing at a Bi frequency. Optionally, a plurality of load-compensating conductor loops (90) are disposed in or on a compensatory non-cylindrical conformal surface (62) that substantially conforms with a magnetic resonance subject. The plurality of load-compensating conductor loops are configured to produce a non-uniform Bi field that compensates for a loading Bi non-uniformity caused by the magnetic resonance subject. Moreover, the coil may comprise switching means for switching the coil between a first mode of operation (e.g. a volume transmit mode) and a second mode of operation (e.g. a phased array reception mode).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2006Publication date: November 20, 2008Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.
