Abstract: A discharge device includes a discharge head that discharges a liquid material from a nozzle opening connected to the cavity by varying the internal pressure of a cavity using an actuator. The discharge head includes a monitoring portion provided between the cavity and the nozzle opening and the discharge device further includes a detection apparatus that detects the number and/or form of the particle-like bodies included in the liquid material in the monitoring portion of the discharge head and a control unit that drives the actuator according to the detection result of the detection unit to change the state of the particle-like bodies included in the liquid material of the monitoring portion.

Abstract: A garden watering device is configured for use in handheld and ground-based operation. The garden watering device includes a device body having a water inlet and a handle. The garden watering device also includes at least one water distribution member adapted to spray in multiple patterns. In one example, the at least one water distribution member includes an elongate tube with a series of discharge outlets and a multi-pattern head with at least one flow outlet. The garden watering device also includes a flow route selector that routes water to either the elongate tube or the multi-pattern head.

Abstract: A liquid spray boom having a plurality of spray nozzles and a flow monitoring system for monitoring the liquid flow to each of the spray nozzles. The spray nozzles each have a respective flow metering passage through which liquid to the nozzle passes a magnetic turbine in the metering passage rotatable as an incident to and in relation to liquid directed through the flow metering passage for generating changing magnetic fields, a hall effect sensor associated with each magnetic turbine for sensing the changing magnetic fields, and a control module for receiving signals from the sensor for monitoring the liquid flow to each spray nozzle and providing an alert indication in the event that the flow fails to meet predetermined requirements.

Abstract: An improved docking assembly for faucets having a pull-down sprayhead extendable from a spout. The docking assembly generally comprises a receptacle fitted into the spout which is formed with chamfered interior walls. A spring-loaded flexible collet is contained within the receptacle with a degree of sliding freedom for spring-biased travel along the chamfered interior walls of the receptacle, from a first position that allows generous radial expansion of the collet to a second position in which radial expansion is restricted. A quick-connect fitting attached to the pull-down sprayhead moves the collet into its first position allowing radial expansion of the collet. Removal of the quick-connect fitting moves the collet to its second position which restricts radial expansion, inhibiting said removal. Consequently, the pulldown sprayhead may be docked to the spout with considerably less insertion force than the opposite removal force needed to undock the pulldown sprayhead from the spout.

In the first connecting state, the switch valve connects the pump to a rear washer nozzle. In the second connecting state, the switch valve connects the pump to a camera washer nozzle. The controller may also display a captured image of an onboard camera and a camera wash touch panel switch on a display when the controller receives a reverse mode signal. The controller may drive the pump to feed the washer fluid to the camera washer nozzle when the controller receives a command signal from the camera wash touch panel switch.

The nozzle has a housing, wherein the housing has an outlet orifice for the atomizing gas, a first annular gap for fluid to be sprayed, surrounding the outlet orifice, and a second annular gap for the atomizing gas, surrounding the first annular gap, as well as a manifold. The manifold has at least one flow channel for fluid to be sprayed, from a connecting line to the first annular gap, and at least one flow channel from an atomizing gas connecting line to the outlet orifice for atomizing gas.

The nozzle has a two-part construction with a main body and a tip member partially enclosing a portion of the main body. The tip member is threadably attached to the main body using quad-lead stem, such that a quarter turn of the tip member changes the flow pattern of the water flow from the nozzle from fully on to fully off.

Abstract: A system and method for preparing a sample of seeds or representative seed portions are provided. In various embodiments, the system and method include a force applying member and a seed container that includes at least one compartment containing a seed. The force applying member is configured to apply a force to the seed so as to break the seed into two or more seed particles, which in some embodiments may be collected in a seed particle collector. The present invention improves on the prior art by greatly reducing (and in some embodiments eliminating) the manual processes typically involved in generating tissue samples from seeds and preparing the tissue for genetic analysis. Additionally, the present invention is scaleable, and can be configured to generate samples from many seeds in a short period of time. The present invention also minimizes the risk of contamination and cross-contamination of the seed particles.

When the auto-feeding device is mounted on a bowl of a food processor filled with water, and blades in the bowl are rotated at a preset time to produce swirling water, the swaying arm is pushed by swirls to move the stop rod away from the bottom cover, so that the bottom cover turns downward to open the bottom of the container, allowing foodstuffs in the container to automatically fall into the bowl and be directly heated and ground into different types of food juice.

Reducing the height of the cord may keep the cord out of reach of children and prevent injury. The sides of the spindle may have slots to secure the cord to the cord winder device after it is wound around the spindle.

In case that the tension of the winding material in a path to a wound package exceeds a predetermined tension the pressing force of the pressure roller at the associated wound package is increased. Accordingly the radius of the outer surface of the associated wound package is reduced. This reduction is intended for counteracting the undesired increase of the tension in the winding material.

Abstract: A method of sealing a gap between first and second aerodynamic surfaces. The width of the gap between the two surfaces is measured to obtain a gap measurement. The width of a seal member is pre-formed in accordance with the gap measurement. The seal member is fitted into the gap such that the seal member is substantially flush with the first and second aerodynamic surfaces. Apparatus for performing the method is also described. The apparatus comprising: a metrology device adapted to measure the width of the gap between the first and second aerodynamic surfaces; a seal member dispenser for dispensing a seal member; and a cutter adapted to cut the seal member to size in accordance with the measurements obtained by the metrology device.

Abstract: This invention relates to technology used for creating an enhanced artificial magnetosphere or electromagnetic shield for use in both manned and unmanned spacecraft. The invention includes an Interference Generating Pattern (IGP) which is tuned to the high-frequency radiation of X-rays and gamma rays and a conformal magnetic field. This technology will reduce the exposure of astronauts or other space travelers, as well as radiation-sensitive equipment, to the environmental hazards present therein. The net result will be reduced radiation intensity in order to create a space radiation-free environment as to render space travel safe.

Abstract: A headrest hat hook comprised of a twist tie and hat hook that is mounted on the side of a headrest designed to be a hat hanger. In a preferred embodiment an industrial twist tie or bendable wire material attached with a double hat hook that holds its shape and becomes the support post for the hat hook when twisted and bent around the headrest post. The wire is wrapped in rubber foam to give it grip when tied around the headrest post. The hat hook is attached to each end of the twist tie where it can be mounted on the side of the headrest. The bendable material is shape to give a right angle base support for the hat hook. The back of hat hook mount has an adhesive backside that can be attached to the side of the headrest. The hat hook can be adjusted and rotated so it points vertical no matter how the mount is placed on the side. The twist tie hat hook is designed to mount on any automobile headrest to become a hat hanger.
