Abstract: A backpack includes a stabilizing and ventilating side bolsters coupled to a frame. The side bolsters are secured to the frame by being received in sleeves or by straps having clips disposed through slots in the side bolsters. A particular side bolster includes at least one channel to allow air flow away from the back side of the wearer. The side bolster is comprised of high-density foam to stabilize the backpack under load while providing improved ventilation. The side bolsters have a center axis that is spatially separated in a forward direction from a surface of the frame to allow the side bolsters to contour around the back side of the wearer. The side bolsters may be formed for a particular environment, body type, or loads to be carried in the backpack by changing the stiffness, density, material, dimensions or other aspects of the side bolsters.

Abstract: A splitting apparatus of an LCD panel and splitting method thereof are described. The LCD panel has a first substrate and a second substrate. The splitting apparatus includes a first splitting device and a second splitting device disposed correspondingly to the first splitting device, and the second splitting device includes protrusion adjustment devices. The protrusion adjustment device extrudes the second substrate for forming a protrusion corresponding to a split line to separate a split plate from the first substrate by a deformation portion of the protrusion and to remove the split plate by the first splitting device. The splitting apparatus makes a rapid separation of the split plate.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tape holder for supporting a tape roll and cutting tape from the tape roll. The tape holder includes a first holder body and a second holder body. The first holder body has an overall ‘E’ shape and includes a cutting part which is provided on a first end of the first holder body and on which a cutter is formed to cut the tape; a support part which is provided on a second end of the first holder body to support the tape holder on a support surface; and a coupling part provided on a medial portion of the first holder body to support the tape roll. The second holder body has the same shape as that of the first holder body. The coupling parts of the first and second holder bodies are coupled to each other in a center hole of the tape roll.

Abstract: A low-material-indicating center pull dispenser for dispensing a web of material from a center pull roll. In embodiments, the dispenser includes a housing and a roll support platform which supports the center pull roll when loaded within the housing. The preferred roll support platform has an inward portion positioned to support a center pull roll inner region and a lower outward portion positioned to support the center pull roll outer region when the material forming the center pull roll inner region is depleted and the center pull roll drops onto the lower outward portion and changes position thereby providing a low-material indication. The change of center pull roll position may be viewed by center pull roll viewing structure such as at least one window, and/or a light transmissive housing or a housing portion.

Abstract: A hemorrhoidectomy tool is provided having a first arm comprising a first handle and a first linear jaw and a second arm pivotally connected to the first arm in a scissor-like manner. The second arm comprises a second handle and a second linear jaw. The handles can be opened to place the jaws in an Opened position whereafter at least one hemorrhoid bundle can be positioned between the jaws. Subsequently, the jaws can be closed to clasp the hemorrhoid bundle(s) therebetween. The tool additionally includes a linear staple cartridge comprising a plurality of staples. The tool is structured and operable to dispense the staples when the jaws are closed such that the staples pierce the clasped flesh of the hemorrhoid bundle(s) to form a linear suture along the base of the hemorrhoid bundle(s). Subsequently, the hemorrhoid bundle(s) can be excised and the tool removed leaving behind a linear sutured wound.

Abstract: A surgical stapling device particularly suited for endoscopic procedures is described. The device includes a handle assembly and an elongated body extending distally from the handle assembly. The distal end of the elongated body is adapted to engage a disposable loading unit. A control rod having a proximal end operatively connected to the handle assembly includes a distal end extending through the elongated body. A control rod locking member is provided to prevent movement of the control rod until the disposable loading unit is fully secured to the elongated body of the stapling device.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a continuous sucker rod coil, wherein the method includes the step of selecting a plurality of input coils, each input coil having the same uniform hardness, and each input coil having two free ends. The method further includes the step of fusing adjacent free ends of adjacent input coils together to form one continuous length of rod, the fusing creating fused areas and a heat-affected zone at each fused area. The method also includes the step of treating each of the heat-affected zones to alleviate irregularities induced during fusing. Additionally, the method includes the step of winding the continuous length of rod into a finished coil.

Abstract: An ultrasonic bonding system is provided. The ultrasonic bonding system includes a bond head assembly and a bonding tool supported by the bond head assembly. The system further includes a pressing member adapted to press against a bonding material bonded using the bonding tool. The pressing member is supported by the bond head assembly and is movable with respect to the bond head assembly independent of the bonding tool. The ultrasonic bonding system may also be an ultrasonic ribbon bonding system or a solar cell ribbon bonding system for bonding a ribbon material to portions of a solar cell.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of joining a hub 11 and a shroud 12 of an impeller 10, either one of which has blades 13 integrally formed thereon, by welding. During the welding, in an upright state in which the hub 11 is placed to face a mount surface, the hub 11 and the shroud 12 are placed on top of each other to form an assembled body 10. Welding is performed on the assembled body 10 covered with a heat insulating jacket 30(a to g), the jacket 30 covering the assembled body 10 except an open region (OP) and an inflow port 14IN required for welding. When welding of one open region OP is completed, a new open region OP is formed by moving the heat insulating jacket 30 with respect to the assembled body, and then the next welding is performed.

Abstract: A packing carton for packing pouch-type beverage containers stands on two sides, referred to as bottom surfaces, while in the open state and comprises halves which are open at their respective tops. Each bottom surface is delimited on four sides by carton sides, and the halves have a common longitudinal side, which is bent in the middle when in the open state, and comprises stiffening flaps on the transverse sides. The stiffening flaps are extensions on the transverse sides. A machine for closing such a packing carton is also disclosed, as well as a related method for closing the packing carton.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a container having a hollow shell defining a body with a dispensing aperture, and a bag within the shell, the open end of the bag extending through the dispensing aperture and being secured with respect to the outside of the shell. The bag is made from a material suitable for containing the intended contents of the container. The shell may be formed from a material that would not be suitable for containing the intended contents of the container alone. The shell may be formed from a biodegradable material, such as wood or paper pulp. The bag may be separated from the main body of the container to allow for separate disposal. The container may be sealed by providing a spout through which the contents of the container are to be dispensed, and by folding the spout over to create a nip which seals the container.

Abstract: A grayscale two-dimensional barcode may be converted to a two-dimensional color barcode. The color barcode includes a set of sub-regions, and the cells in each sub-region exhibits a color pattern that corresponds to pattern of binary, grayscale cells. The two-dimensional color barcode may be decoded by comparing the pattern for each sub-region to a known grayscale pattern. The two-dimensional color barcode may be used for error correction by first decoding the barcode in grayscale form based on the luminance without reference to color, then decoding the barcode based on its color and comparing the results.

Abstract: A data decoding system that includes a server-side proxy component and at least two back-end computers, where the server-side proxy component is configured, when it receives a decoding request from a client, to select a back-end computer to forward the decoding request to, based on either a pre-defined rule, load estimates for the at least two computers, estimated network throughputs across network paths to the two computers. The system includes a deposit accepting machine for accepting deposit items, such as deposit bags, currency, and checks. The deposit accepting machine includes a card reader operable to read financial account data from cards of depositors. The machine includes a RFID reader that wirelessly reads data from RFID tags on deposited items, including account number and deposit amount data. A computer credits the account for the read deposit amount. The machine, which can also dispense cash, further includes an NFC reader that can wirelessly receive cash loading data from an NFC component on a cash handler's cash transport bag. The cash loading data can include an amount of cash loaded into the machine. The machine can wirelessly transmit to the bag, dispense data that includes the amount of cash dispensed since the last cash loading.

The flip-chip antenna module (FCAM) interfaces with a contactless reader. Contact pads (CP) on the opposite side of the substrate (MT) provide a contact interface. The conductor array can be grouped into one or more zones. The temperature controller selectively directs a circulation fluid at a first temperature, and at a second temperature to each zone. Feedforward signals based on the expected heat dissipation of the conductor array can be used to improve the response time of the temperature controller. The temperature controller can include a phase change material and a housing assembly that retains the phase change material in an enclosed chamber near the conductor array.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyurethane ballast layer, the method for preparing the same and a railway comprising the polyurethane ballast layer. The polyurethane ballast layer provided in this invention comprises a polyurethane-filled ballast layer and a polyurethane external protective layer, wherein the polyurethane-filled ballast layer comprises ballasts and polyurethane foam filled in the space among the ballasts. The polyurethane ballast layer provided in this invention can reduce the probability of ballast crashing, shifting and cracking under heavy load, and separate the ballast track from the outside environment to prevent rain, snow and wastes from entering into the internal space of the ballast track bed. Furthermore, the polyurethane ballast layer can keep the polyurethane foam filled in the ballasts layer away from water in the outside environment to avoid hydrolysis.

Abstract: Foam dispensers, refill units for foam dispensers, and liquid pumps for use in foam dispensers are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an inverted foam pump includes a compression chamber having an inlet valve and an outlet valve. The compression chamber is in fluid communication with a flow restrictor, an atomizer, a mixing chamber, a foaming chip and an outlet. The inlet valve, outlet valve, flow restrictor, atomizer, mixing chamber, foaming chip and outlet extend along a common axis. An air inlet is included that extends into the mixing chamber; the air inlet is an opening to atmospheric pressure. During operation, the liquid pump is located below the liquid container and liquid flowing from the compression chamber is accelerated and atomized. The atomized liquid enters the mixing chamber at a velocity sufficient to draw in air from the air inlet to mix with the liquid to form a foam.

Abstract: A reagent injector control system includes a pulse width modulation (PWM) control module and an injector driver module. The PWM control module monitors current through a reagent injector during an injection control cycle, generates a PWM signal based on an amount of reagent to be injected during the injection control cycle, and at least one of selectively increases and selectively decreases a duty cycle of a PWM signal during the injection control cycle based on the current. The injector driver module selectively enables and disables the current based on the PWM signal. The reagent injector opens and injects a reagent into an exhaust system based on the current. The exhaust system receives exhaust output from an engine. The reagent reacts with nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Abstract: A charge injected fluid assist liquid atomizer including a liquid delivery channel, a flow focusing member for generating a coaxial air stream to draw a slender jet from the liquid in the delivery channel toward an opposing orifice, an electrode in the channel submerged in the liquid, and a power source for applying a voltage between the electrode and channel to inject a charge into the liquid entrained in the focused flow of the jet and through the opposing orifice.

Abstract: A thickness detecting system for a paper shredder having a lever arm extending into the shredder's throat. One or more sensors may be in communication with the lever arm and configured to measure the rotation of the lever. A first maximum thickness and second maximum thickness may correspond to the paper inserted into the throat before and during shredder, respectively. Circuitry may reverse the motor when the thickness is exceeded to ease the removal of the paper and to prevent further shredding. A touch structure and the preferential power supply switch may be used to engagingly interact with each other, so that the motor can be switched off when the plate is selectively positioned to close the paper feed opening, can be switched on when the plate is selectively positioned to open the feed opening, and can be switched off when unexpected items are introduced into the feed opening.
