Publication number: 20130193695Abstract: A security device for a sliding door or sliding window assembly comprising a base plate and a removably interlocking stop member. The base plate is securely fastened to the floor or window sill, respectively, in close proximity and along the path of movement of a sliding door or sliding window, by means of a plurality of openings for receiving screws. The stop member, while engagingly disposed in the interlocked, in use position, prevents the sliding door or sliding window from opening at all or past a predetermined point. The base plate and stop member are each formed having an interlocking means element, adapted to receive, matingly, the others interlocking means element. The stop member features a blocking element, which projects into the path of the sliding door or sliding window, while in the in use position. Removing the stop member allows normal movement of the sliding door or sliding window.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2012Publication date: August 1, 2013Inventors: Joseph Curtis Taylor, Jack Roy Taylor

Publication number: 20130193696Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of an apparatus for securing a structure such as a door, window, hatch, or gate that moves between an open and a closed position relative to a fixed structure to provide or deny access to a compartment, a room, an outdoor area, or a facility. Various embodiments provide a delay in opening the closure of sufficient duration to frustrate a rapid activation that might be desired by a person who is attempting to pass through the closure for some illicit purpose. Typically, hydraulics are used to activate the apparatus and no electrical energy or electronic signals are employed. In one embodiment, a plurality of actuations of a hand lever operates a hydraulic pump that moves a locking bolt from a first position in which a locking bolt is engaged with a recess in the fixed structure (preventing opening of a gate) to a second position in which the locking bolt is disengaged from the recess to permit opening of the gate.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2013Publication date: August 1, 2013Applicant: Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Y-12, LLCInventor: Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Y-12, LLC

Publication number: 20130193700Abstract: Described is a multi-handled tool that is ergonomically designed to maximize the efficiency of the tool by the use of a handle, optionally rotating, affixed to the shaft of the tool. The rotating handle may be rotated and locked into any desired position so the user can adjust the tool to create maximum efficiency. In addition, a footstep is optionally provided above the tool that allows for a greater digging force. A combination of the first, top handle with the ergonomically spaced handle placement that is completely adjustable combined with the footstep above the head of the tool provides for a tool that is much more efficient than the standard tools used today.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2013Publication date: August 1, 2013Inventor: Stephen Walden
