Abstract: A method diagnoses an electrical contact connection of an exhaust gas sensor, in which two current sources are used to impress currents into a pump cell and a reference cell of the exhaust gas sensor. If a line is faulty, the relevant current cannot flow and a voltage on the relevant current source assumes a high value. If a second line is faulty, measurement of the voltage on the second connection, which is connected to the connecting point between the two cells, provides a low value when the relevant second connection is isolated from the reference-ground potential by a second switch, since the cell capacitances have not been able to charge to the reference-ground potential.

Abstract: In the method for calibrating a flow meter, at least two acoustic sensors are arranged at a distance to each other on a straight measuring portion, and a tracer is fed into the fluid flowing in the process pipe at a set mixing distance from the first measuring point. The momentary reference value of the flow velocity of the flowing fluid is measured by determining the travel time of the acoustic tracer between at least two sensors on the same straight measuring portion, by using the acoustic sensors to detect the relative content response of the tracer. This measured value can be compared with the value displayed by the flow meter. The mixing distance of the tracer is arranged to be at least long enough for the tracer to have effectively mixed at the first measuring point over the entire cross-section of the flow path of the fluid.

Abstract: A method for the in-instrument recombination of volatiles using a gas chromatograph with mass spectrometry and olfactometry detection is described. Compounds that are introduced into the modified GC are separated conventionally on an analytical capillary GC column. The elution profile of volatiles can be segmented, analyzed and arbitrarily combined. In-line with the GC column, a pneumatic flow switch and splitter are connected to a detector and olfactometer. A cold trap allows the user to build a mixture of separated volatiles that is held until the cryotrap is rapidly heated, releasing the mixture for a subject to smell at the olfactory port and to evaluate. The instrument allows for characterization of the aroma quality of specific fractions of aroma volatiles obtained from foods, flowers or beverages without the need for pure chemical standards or the calculation of individual compound concentrations or sensory thresholds.

The sliding assembly is configured to move back and forth along a first direction in a first accommodating space of the shell. A periphery of the wheel abuts against two opposite sides of the sliding assembly. An eccentricity e defined between a eccentric hole of the wheel and the center of the wheel causes the sliding assembly to move back and forth along the first direction when the wheel rotates eccentrically. The testing plug connects to the sliding assembly and moves back and forth in unison with the sliding assembly, such that the testing plug can be inserted into the interface of the electronic device more than once.

Abstract: To provide accurate determinations of volumetric flow rate and thus of total liquid volume transported over a given time period, two pressure transducers are disposed a predetermined distance apart along a conduit. Precise pressure measurement readings are generated from which volumetric flow rate can be derived with accuracy. Integration of the volumetric flow rate over time yields an improved measure of the total liquid volume that has flowed through the conduit during the respective temporal interval. The two pressure transducers are disposed along the conduit a predetermined distance apart with no obstruction or restriction in the conduit between the transducers. A controller can be used to determine the volumetric flow rate using the Hagen-Poiseuille Equation.
