Abstract: Described is a device for establishing desired proportions of water and coffee beans. The device includes a fluid vessel and a laterally attached coffee solid vessel. The fluid vessel has vertical height and a fluid volume capacity, with the fluid vessel being formed to hold water therein. The coffee solid vessel has vertical height and an interior that defines a coffee solid volume capacity, with the coffee solid vessel being formed to hold a solid coffee product therein. Importantly, each of the fluid vessel and coffee solid vessel are formed such that a desired solid-to-fluid ratio exists between the fluid volume capacity and the coffee solid volume capacity when laterally attached with one another, with the desired solid-to-fluid ratio being maintained along the vertical height of each of the vessels (which can be readily verified through a visual inspection of the horizontal equality of contents).

Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing and converting a container includes a platform for slidably accommodating a sheet of packaging material, an actuation mechanism for feeding the sheet through the platform, and a gluing device for applying glue to a portion of the sheet. The apparatus further includes a magnet applicator assembly housing a plurality of magnets, a slug applicator assembly housing a plurality of slugs and a folding mechanism to align the sheet in a final glued form. The magnet applicator assembly applies magnets to the sheet at a pre-determined time, and the slug applicator assembly applies slugs to the sheet at a pre-determined time. The magnet and the slug are attached to the sheet by the glue applied by the gluing device. The magnet aligns with the slug forming a reclosable connection.

Abstract: A lid for covering an interior of a medical waste receptacle base. The lid includes a cover having a generally circular opening. The opening including an upper rim surrounding an upper central axis and a lower rim surrounding a lower central axis that is non-co-linear with the upper central axis. The lid includes a generally circular closure sized for blocking the opening. The lid includes a guide extending along the cover. In the open position, the closure is at least partially out of alignment with the opening. In the closed position, a center axis of the closure is aligned with the upper central axis to block the opening. The closure is moveable from the closed position to a locked position in which the center axis of the closure is coincident with the lower central axis.

Abstract: A multilayer film is described made of recyclable thermoplastic material comprising a layer (A) of unoriented amorphous PET combined with at least one barrier layer (B) which comprises unoriented amorphous PET, a salt of a transition metal and an oxidisable polyester-ether, in which the quantity of unoriented amorphous PET is at least 95% in weight of the total film and in which the permeability to oxygen is below 10 cc/m2/24 h/atm. The film is particularly suitable for the production of food-grade containers and packages with high barrier effect and high transparency which, at the same time, are fully recyclable in the same application.

By producing a polyethylene water storage tank with a black inner layer and a non-black outer layer, the desire to inhibit algae growth and the desire to have a non-black exterior can both be met.

Abstract: A multilayer liner for a high-pressure gas cylinder is provided. The liner has an impact-modified polyamide (PA) layer in contact with the high-pressure gas. The impact-modified PA layer reduces travel of the high-pressure gas from the inside of the liner to the outside of the liner. Use of a gas barrier layer such as an EVOH layer in combination with the impact-modified PA layer results in improved permeation resistance not heretofore demonstrated in a Type 4 cylinder. Combination of the EVOH layer and the impact-modified PA layer results in an interior surface which is compatible with gas environment in the cylinder, ductility at high pressures, a range of temperatures, and can survive cryogenic conditions.

Certain containers may be configured to minimize the area of contact between material layers within a region to be insulated in order to provide maximum thermal resistance between the contacted area and the external environment. The insulated containers may be formed from a container opening enclosed within a container cover. A cavity may be formed within the space between the container opening and the container cover. The cavity may be vacuum sealed to prevent or reduce thermal leaks from the insulated container. The insulating material may include multiple material layer separated by layer cavities. The material layers may include projections arising from a base surface thereof for preventing the material layers from contacting each other, for instance, and causing a thermal short.

The grease gun also includes an outlet in fluid communication with the chamber and a measurement system operable to measure an amount of liquid being dispensed through the outlet. The measurement system monitors a change in current of the motor over a cycle of the pump assembly, compares the change in current to a predetermined value, and, if the change in current is greater than the predetermined value, increases a pump cycle counter to indicate that liquid was dispensed.

Abstract: A device for opening a sealed flexible packet and for dispensing its contents has a flexible body that allows a user to dispense a product from a sealed packet with the use of only one hand. The device has a body with a flexible a flexible outer wall defining a slot into which a user can place a sealed packet. The inner surface of the body has blades that pierce the packet when the body is squeezed around the packet. Further squeezing of the body causes the contents of the packet to be dispensed through openings in the body. The body is spring biased to a position to facilitate loading a packet, unloading the packet after dispensing the product, and replacing it with a sealed packet, all with the use of only one hand. Tabs at the end of the body help keep it upright during loading and unloading.

The other compartment portion includes a squeeze member, for example a cylindrical roller, mounted for travel in upward and downward directions. The squeeze member is arranged to contact the product bag when the second compartment portion is closed relative to the first compartment portion. The dispenser also comprises an actuating lever mechanically connected to the squeeze member, for example by a one-way advancing mechanism, wherein the actuating lever is operable by a user to advance the squeeze member in the downward direction to dispense product. The dispenser facilitates cleaning and product replacement.

Along the circumference of the plunger, there is at least a circling rib. The syringe could be applied to an ordinary adhesive gun.

This invention relates to devices, systems and methods for dispensing, distributing or delivering a substance from the dispensing container. More particularly, the invention relates to a device and method for dispensing a liquid (e.g., a cleaner, disinfectant, deodorizer, moisturizer, medication, etc.) more effectively. Furthermore, the invention allows users to access the dispensing material when the hand pump cannot be primed due to the level of the fluid in the container. This new dispensing bottle will eliminate waste to almost zero.

Abstract: Provided is a pull-top style discharge member for a package to be mounted on a dispenser. The package discharge member is provided with an outer frame 70 having an opening in the center thereof, a cap 71 that closes the opening in the outer frame 70, and can open the opening by being pulled, and a sheet 61 disposed on the reverse surface of the outer frame 70 and the cap 71 and formed with a discharge hole 61a in the form of slits to allow passage of food contents. The sheet 61 and the outer frame 70 are welded together, and metallocene polyethylene is used as the material of the outer frame 70, while polypropylene is used as the material of the sheet 61.

Abstract: A dosing device for dispensing liquid from a container (1) in which flow through flow openings (23) to an outlet tube (44) is blocked after controlled delay by an obturator (3) moveable within a control chamber (2) mounted in a container neck (101) behind the outlet tube (44). Movement of the obturator (3) is governed by restricted flow through control openings (28) at the rear of the control chamber. Restoration of the obturator to the back of the control chamber facilitates repeated dosing. An elastomeric element (6) of resiliently deformable material promotes a seal to achieve a cleanly defined dose. In one proposal the elastomeric element coats the surface of the obturator and/or the outlet tube (64) to cut off the flow. Another proposal provides a one-way elastomeric valve element (63) for blocking the flow openings to enable rapid recovery after a dosing operation.

When the user ties the two straps, the backpack is automatically compressed and moves closer to the user's back The system, operated like a regular two-strap backpack, allows the user to carry heavier loads for a longer period of time with less fatigue.
