Abstract: A modularized airplane includes two separably interconnected modules. A first module, incorporating substantial airplane styles, includes a fuselage portion and at least one wing or stabilizer with an associated control surface. A second module carries a set of essential flight components sufficing airplane operations, including propulsion unit, servo for moving control surface, and power source. Magnetic connectors affixed on the modules facilitate inter-modular structural connection. A control linkage assembly, linking control surface on first module and associated servo on second module, is formed with two portions longitudinally movable and separably connected by two magnetic connectors oppositely affixed on each portion. The structural connection and the servo-to-control surface linkage assembly facilitate substantially effortless inter-modular connections to form a functional airplane, as well as nondestructive inter-modular disconnection.

Abstract: A vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is designed to be so efficient that it can be commercially competitive with runway dependent aircraft operating in a range of 100 to 1000 miles or more, with glide ratios of at least 24. Improvements include a combination of high efficiency tilting rotor and wing design that enable both vertical takeoff and efficient high speed cruising, a high aspect ratio wing, and a variable speed propulsion system efficient in both hover and cruise flight. Preferred aircraft use narrow chord inboard and outboard wings, and use efficient lightweight design to achieve unusually low empty weight fraction. In some embodiments, the rotors use medium rather than high modulus fibers, with wider blades of lower taper ratio, to provide the stiffness and mass properties required for high performance OSTR rotor blades. Also disclosed are VTOL aircraft with glide ratios from approximately 26 to over 40.

Abstract: A component assembly and a suspension device for supporting rails, in particular for suspended ceilings or the like, and a method for manufacturing the component assembly and the suspension device are described. The component assembly includes first and second components that are generally flat-shaped and fastened to each other, where at least two guide slots extending substantially parallel are formed both in the first component and in the second component. The regions of the first and of the second component that are arranged between the guide slots each form retaining portions. The first component and the second component are plugged together in the longitudinal direction of the guide slots in overlapping relation to each other.

Abstract: A multi-position adjustable height seat post comprises an inner tube, an outer tube, a locking assembly, a triggering device, a first extending element, and a second extending element disposed between the tubes. The locking assembly comprises an actuating unit, a plurality of parallel grooves located in the outer tube, a plurality of spherical detent elements located, in the grooves, and a plurality of spherical elements located in the inner tube. The triggering device connects to the actuating unit. The first extending element constantly pushes the to actuating unit moving in a first direction. The second extending element disposes between the tubes. Once the triggering device is triggered, the actuating unit moves in a second direction contrary to the first direction and makes the spherical elements to move inward laterally to let the inner tube and outer tube move relative to each other freely.

Two or more mounts connected to the base and a stiffener connects to two or more mounts. A slit diaphragm flexure connects to the stiffener around at least an outer circumference of the slit diaphragm flexure and one or more adjustors are provided to move the flexure. The stiffener may be two separate elements which releasably connect and secure the outer area of the flexure there between. The adjustors are configured to move upward or downward and contact the slit diaphragm flexure to thereby move the slit diaphragm flexure in response to movement of the adjustor. The flexure includes two or more slits that allow movement of a center area relative to an outer ring. The slit includes relieved areas that provide stress relief and increase orthogonal of movement.
