Abstract: The present invention is a bubbler having a diptube inlet ending in a bubble size reducing outlet and at least one baffle disc positioned between the outlet of the diptube and the outlet of the bubbler to provide a narrow annular space between the baffle disc and the wall of the bubbler to prevent liquid droplets from entering the outlet to the bubbler. The bubble size reducing outlet is an elongated cylindrical porous metal frit situated in a sump of approximately the same dimensions. A metal frit is placed at the inlet of the outlet of the bubbler. The present invention is also a process of delivering a chemical precursor from a bubbler vessel having the above structure.

  • Publication number: 20140191427
Abstract: A method and system for affixing multi-core fiber (MCF) within a ferrule includes a UV light source and a light guide. MCFs are placed into epoxy filled holders, e.g., channels or v-grooves, of a ferrule. A first MCF in a first holder is clocked to orient its cores to a desired position. The light source is activated, and the light from the light guide is launched into a cladding layer of the first MCF. The light in the cladding layer will stay in the cladding layer until it reaches the portion of the first MCF in contact with the epoxy, where the light will leak out due to the similarity in the index of refraction. The leaking light will at least partially cure the epoxy to affix the first MCF within the first holder. The process may then be repeated for the remaining MCFs, so that each MCF may be clocked and affixed selectively rather than collectively.

Abstract: An enhanced optical interference pattern, such as a diffraction grating, is incorporated into a photodefineable surface by shining three or more beams of coherent light from a single source at a photodefinable surface, such as a photosensitive emulsion/photoresist covered glass or an ablatable substrate and mapping the diffraction grating pattern to the photodefinable surface. Mapping of the optical interference pattern is created by interference of three or more light beams, such as laser light or other light sources producing a suitable spectrum of light. The mapped photodefinable surface can be used to create embossing shims. The embossing shim can then be used to emboss film or paper. The embossed film/paper can be metalized and laminated onto a substrate to create a product that has shifting patterns at a variety of viewing angles when exposed to white light.

Abstract: In a method for discharging a volume flow consisting of successive drops to produce a three-dimensional object of solidifiable material present in a fluid phase, the fluid phase of the material is introduced into a material storage means. A pressure (p) is applied to the fluid phase, in order to discharge the material in drops out of a cyclable outlet opening to build up the three-dimensional object in a construction chamber. A method is provided for achieving a constant, discontinuous volume flow by the pressure (p) being regulated via a closed-loop control in the event of a change in the viscosity of the fluid phase of the material, while maintaining the other process parameters, to achieve a predetermined drop size. The pressure is applied by a conveying element, the average displacement velocity of the conveying element per discharged drop being converted as a measured variable into the control variable for the closed-loop control.

Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for properly orienting and aligning flat sheets or strip material, such as in the form of folding carton blanks, on a conveying system such as used in carton folders/gluers is disclosed. A moving sheet is engaged on at least one surface by plural non-driven movable casters oriented at an angle relative to the sheet's intended direction of travel, or target direction. The casters apply a lateral force to the sheet so that a linear lateral edge of the sheet is brought into contact with an adjacent guide member aligned with the target direction, with the sheet assuming a predetermined orientation relative to the target direction. Each caster is resiliently biased such as by a spring at a predetermined angle relative to the target direction. With the sheet's lateral edge in intimate contact with the guide member, the moving sheet is in the aforementioned predetermined orientation relative to, and is displaced in, the target direction.

First sensing portion is disposed upstream conveying portion in conveyance direction. Second sensing portion is disposed downstream conveying portion in conveyance direction. Drive control portion makes conveying portion stop until a predetermined setting time has elapsed after sensing of the leading end of the sheet-like member in the conveyance direction of the sheet-like member by first sensing portion, to deflect the sheet-like member, and outputs a drive signal that drives the conveying portion when setting time has elapsed. Response time calculation portion calculates response time until conveying portion is driven since drive signal is outputted.
