Publication number: 20140202335Abstract: A system for increasing the power of cars by increasing the oxygen content in the intake manifold supply using a zeolite filtration system. This system does not rely on the conventional method of injecting pure oxygen from a tank or using hydrolysis from water. This actually converts the air to a higher oxygen content as it flows to the intake manifold in a car. The practical idea of this is to increase the power of the engine without increasing displacement or to have the engine downsized with less displacement while still having the same power. It also has the application in cars or trucks to almost completely diminish NOx emissions. This is especially useful in tractor trailers because then you can forgo expensive aftertreatment systems to reduce NOx, which sometimes cost more than the engine itself, greatly reducing the cost of a tractor trailer and also doing the things mentioned above.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2013Publication date: July 24, 2014Inventor: Nicholas Leonard Oddo

Publication number: 20140202367Abstract: The present invention is a device mounted on a watercraft that creates a method of systematic weight distribution, which modifies a vessel's wake as it travels through water. The device uses systematically moveable ballast object(s) that are supported in a variety of positions along a specified path. As a ballast object is selectively moved towards a specific extremity of a watercraft, it causes that side or end to sink deeper in the water, and raises the opposing side or end, thus controlling or influencing the vessel's relative position on a body of water. When the watercraft is operating at higher speeds, the invention's ability to control the vessels' position allows an operator to selectively control the shape, size and slope of the watercraft's wake, as referenced in the disclosed method.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2014Publication date: July 24, 2014Inventor: Elliott B. The flow stabilizing section is formed so that a bottom of the vortex suppression block that protrudes from a bottom of a hull toward a stern in the moon pool is recessed in an upward direction of the hull to stabilize a flow in the moon pool and reduce a variation in resistance of the drillship. The flow stabilizing section (30) is formed by partly recessing the bottom of the vortex suppression block toward an upper portion of the hull. The drillship having this configuration provides resistance performance improvement and flow stabilization of the drillship.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2012Publication date: July 24, 2014Applicant: HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES CO., LTDInventors: Sang-Bong Lee, Kang-Hoon Lee, You-Won Ann, Hyung-Kwan Kim, Seok-Ho Chung, Yong-Kwan Chung, Min-Jae Kwon

Publication number: 20140202373Abstract: An ocean going vessel with interchangeable superstructure and hull in which the superstructure has control units for controlling propulsion and steering, as well as components for communication and navigation. The superstructure and the hull each have an interface providing quick connect and disconnect capability between the control units of the superstructure and the components being controlled of the hull. A system for interchanging superstructures and hulls for ocean going vessels is enabled in which the superstructure of an inbound vessel is removed and transferred to an outbound hull with the use of a crane at the port facility. This facilitates quick turnaround time of the superstructure and crew of the inbound vessel. This also enables inbound ship hulls to be inspected without delaying the outbound hull that has been preloaded from being shipped out of port with the transferred superstructure.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2014Publication date: July 24, 2014Inventor: Luis Daniel ELIZONDO

Publication number: 20140202375Abstract: A sewer cleanout level indicator for use with a retrofitted conventional sewer cleanout cap. The indicator provides a visual indication of whether a sewer lateral line is blocked on the residential or private side, or the government side. The indicator includes an elongated tubular member which is slidably received by the retrofitted conventional sewer cleanout cap. The tubular member has an upper end having a circular cap attached thereto. The circular cap has a flexibly-compressible annular flange contiguously carried therebelow. A bulbous float is fixedly attached to the lower end of the tubular member. The float is responsive to a change in a level of fluid or waste water present within the cleanout riser of a conventional sewer lateral line.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2014Publication date: July 24, 2014Inventor: William T. Publication number: 20140202376Abstract: In a method, a sapphire raw material is placed into the recess of a mold and melted by heating to infill the recess by capillary action to form a liquid film. A sapphire seed having a specific growing plane is moved to dip the growing plane into the liquid film, thus forming a solid-liquid interface. The sapphire seed is lifted up such that the liquid film is crystallized on the growing surface to form the sapphire substrate. Two surfaces of the sapphire substrate are first coarsely and then finely ground to reduce a thickness of the sapphire substrate. The two surfaces of the sapphire substrate are first coarsely and then finely polished to improve smoothness of the surfaces.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2013Publication date: July 24, 2014Applicant: HON HAI PRECISION INDUSTRY CO., LTD.Inventors: GA-LANE CHEN, CHUNG-PEI WANG
