Publication number: 20140209716Abstract: A method for processing a supply of post-consumer scrap linear low density or low density polyethylene film into near-virgin quality blown film product. The method includes tearing the supply of film in a shredder, wherein the surface area of the film is exposed, including delaminating the film. The torn supply of film is washed in a hot water bath including a surfactant. The film is agitated in the bath containing the surfactant wherein contaminants on the film are removed from the film. The washed film is ground into smaller pieces and additional washing of the ground film in a rotating friction washer occurs wherein additional contaminants are removed from the film. The ground film is then dried in a dryer and compacted in a compactor without addition of water into granulated objects of near-virgin quality blown film product.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2014Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: Wisconsin Film & Bag, Inc.Inventors: Robert Francis Kulesa, James J. Publication number: 20140209717Abstract: This disclosure is drawn to systems, devices, apparatuses, and/or methods, related to milling particles in drilling fluid. Specifically, the disclosed systems, devices, apparatuses, and/or methods relate to milling particles in drilling fluid using multiple milling techniques. Some example apparatuses may include a first mill to grind particles from the original diameter to a first reduced diameter, and a second mill to grind the particles from the first reduced diameter to a second reduced diameter, where the second reduced diameter is less than the first reduced diameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: ECUTEC BARCELONA S.L.Inventor: Thomas Philip Barthelmess

Publication number: 20140209718Abstract: A device for disposing of a container having a biological fluid contained therein. The device includes a housing having a first end and a second end. Proximate the first end is an opening through which the container is received. A shredding chamber, between the opening and the second end and within the housing, is configured to break the container into a plurality of pieces. A collection grid is positioned between the shredding chamber and the second end and within the housing. The collection grid is slidable with respect to the housing and is porous to the biological fluid and not to the plurality of pieces. A port, proximate the second end, is configured form removal of the biological fluid from the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: Government of the United States as Represented by the Secretary of the Air ForceInventor: Government of the United States as Represented by the Secretary of the Air Force

Publication number: 20140209719Abstract: A coal pulverizer monitoring system and method measures a displacement of wheels in a vertical roll wheel pulverizer using strain gauges bonded to tension rods in an ambient environment outside the hostile environment of the milling area of the pulverizer. Signals from the strain gauges reflecting strain on the tension rods are converted to a displacement of the wheels inside the pulverizer, and thus a coal bed height.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2014Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: Orlando Utilities CommissionInventor: Bradley J. Publication number: 20140209720Abstract: A grating device for grating material includes a hollow handle having an interior cavity and a grater removably attachable to the hollow handle in a first configuration and a second configuration. The handle includes a top wall portion having a major outer surface configured to abut against a palm of a hand of a person gripping the grating device, a pair of elongated longitudinal sidewall portions, a closed end wall portion, and an open end wall portion on an opposing side of the hollow handle from the closed end wall portion. The open end wall portion of the hollow handle includes at least one surface extending through the hollow handle defining a passageway between the interior cavity of the hollow handle and an exterior of the hollow handle. Such a grating device may be used to grate material.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Inventor: Brandon Juarez

Publication number: 20140209722Abstract: The present application relates to an apparatus for processing a food stuff. The apparatus has a housing (2), and a cutting tool (5) rotatably mounted in the housing (2) having a cutting edge (35) and a trailing edge(31). The cutting tool (5) is arranged to pass once per revolution through a processing region (43) in the housing in which a food stuff is receivable, and to pass through a recovery region (45). The recovery region is defined in the housing between the trailing edge passing from the processing region and the cutting edge passing into the processing region as 25 the cutting tool rotates, and the cutting tool is free to rotate in the processing region without contacting the food stuff. Therefore, the cutting tool (5) acts on a food stuff as the cutting tool rotates through the processing region, and recovers the rotational speed lost due to acting on a food stuff in the processing region as the cutting tool (5) rotates through the recovery region.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2012Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Johann Unteregger, Christian Rosenwirth

Publication number: 20140209723Abstract: A device for comminuting media materials that store sensitive information. The device is a rotating mill core with removable flat edged blades, a set of stacked bed knives and a screen. The mill core rotates in close proximity to the bed knives to shear the material being fed, and in close proximity to the screen in order to grate the material. A flywheel is attached to the mill core in order to conserve rotational energy and improve the efficiency of the device. A knurled roller is installed in the device that feeds the material into the knife mill as well as holds the material steady during the initial shear. Vacuum ports facilitate cleanup.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: PHISTON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: M.
