Abstract: A protective undergarment (10), shown in the form of shorts, includes integrally formed protective panels (22, 26, 30) that exhibit slash-proof properties. The protective areas (22, 26, 30) are made from a flexible Kevlar® knit or the like, and extend to cover the groin, crotch, substantial areas of the buttocks and the inner thigh regions of both legs. The protective panels (22, 26, 30) are externally snitched to a low thermal burden material (18, 20), such as a polyester mesh, that provides elasticity and completes the structure of the shorts (10). The Kevlar® knit is flexible and preferably lies directly against the skin of a user to provide blast wave and ballistic fragment deflection whilst permitting mobility in a lightweight arrangement. Varying thickness of the Kevlar® knit can be used in the protective areas (22, 26, 30) selectively to enhance protection against blast wave and fragment penetration.

Abstract: A protective garment system fabricated from ballistic textiles having a V50 on 2 grain RCC of at least 300 fps as measured by Mil-Spec 662F provides good ballistic and fragmentary protection, and can be worn in lieu of conventional clothing without discomfort to the wearer. Embodiments overcome prior art ballistic fabric limitations by incorporating novel construction, such as plaiting and/or twill or satin weaving, as well as novel yarn selection, to enable comfortable skin contact, and by applying coatings to improve abrasion resistance, UV resistance, and color acceptance. Embodiments incorporate layers of ballistic fabric in critical areas, either by overlapping protective clothing articles, and/or by incorporating multiple layers of protective fabric into an individual protective garment. Embodiments provide good moisture transport for long term comfort.

Abstract: A method of protecting a participant user, participant player, players, referee, official, coach or spectator from skin contact with an exposed connector by isolating the connector of a sports glove, such as hockey, lacrosse, cricket, baseball and other sports gloves, which includes a front palm portion having a serpentine array of finger stalls for insertion of fingers therein, and a back portion which is attachable to said front palm portion by a connector, such as a zipper. The method includes the step of removably covering the zipper connector with a fly cover having an attachment end and a free end, wherein further lifting of the free end of the fly cover exposes the zipper for participant user engagement therewith.

Abstract: A protective finger device for use with electronic devices comprising a sleeve to cover a distal portion of a wearer's finger; an opening at an end of the sleeve, where the opening receives the wearer's finger; a tip at an opposing end of the sleeve from the opening, where the tip envelops the wearer's fingertip; and a plurality of holes along the sleeve, where the plurality of holes allow air to pass through the sleeve. The protective finger device is made from a breathable, antimicrobial material to provide a barrier between the wearer's finger and the electronic device.

Abstract: Disposable Undercollar—Collar Guard is a disposable self-adhesive hygiene device made from a soft comfortable absorbent odor blocking material that is worn on the inside collar of shirts, jackets, coats and hats that absorbs sweat, blocks odors and keeps them from becoming stained which prolongs the time between trips to the dry cleaner. This shield can be cut to length so that it will fit any size collar or hat.

Abstract: An article of clothing such as a shirt is provided which contains different child interactive devices attached to the clothing. The devices are not visible unless a child opens a portion of the shirt, such as opening a pocket flap. The devices are particularly accessible to a child who is being carried by the adult and promote bonding between the child and adult while the two are together. Additionally, the devices assist in entertaining the child.

Abstract: A fashion clothing accessory is adjustable, and may be removable or permanent. Two ornamental members have fastening mechanisms for attachment to the clothing at discrete areas thereon, and are attached or attachable to two flexible elongate members that can be secured together at different possible intermediate points therealong using an adjustment mechanism. With the accessory attached to the clothing, the mechanism provides adjustments to both the accessory and clothing by changing its position on the flexible members in order to pull the ornamental members closer together or allow them to drift further apart. The adjustment mechanism may also feature ornamental elements. In addition to this function of changing the appearance and fit of clothing, the ornamental elements provide additional style.

Abstract: A folding hat that eliminates the risk of damaging the cloth by an elastic ring for a long life. The folding hat has the elastic ring sewn in an outer circumferential edge of a brim, and the elastic ring is formed by coupling both ends of a flat wire rod shaped by rolling spring steel round wire. Regarding the elastic ring, both ends of the flat wire rod are preferably coupled by: inserting both ends of the flat wire rod in both sides of a tubular metal stop, respectively; and crushing the metal stop. The metal stop has a pair of facing convex parts on which the tips of both ends of the flat wire rod can respectively abut at an inner center part that may be used.

Moreover, the garment includes an elastic band that is adhesively attached to and layered on the adhesive tape to attach the elastic band to the waist portion. The elastic band, the adhesive tape, and the waist portion of the shell are collectively and resiliently stretchable to thereby bias the garment inward in the radial direction to retain the garment on the waist of the wearer.

Under one aspect, a sock includes a first fabric defining a stem and a bifurcated region. The stem can be configured and arranged to be disposed on the Achilles tendon of a wearer, and the bifurcated region can be configured and arranged to be disposed on the calf of the wearer. The sock also can include a second fabric coupled to the first fabric inside of the bifurcated region and configured and arranged to be disposed on the calf of the wearer. The sock also can include a third fabric coupled to the first fabric outside of the bifurcated region and configured and arranged to be disposed on the shin of the wearer.

Abstract: A method of forming a mold for use with a baseball or softball glove comprising covering a substantial portion of the inner surface of the glove with a thin sheet of flexible material, applying a forming material to the flexible material such that the flexible material generally conforms to the shape of the inner surface of the glove, removing the hardened forming material from the glove, and removing the flexible material from the glove. The hardened forming material can be a mold for the glove, or can be used as a form to manufacture glove molds. The glove mold can be placed in the glove when it is not in use and secured in position by a strap or other suitable mechanism.

Abstract: Provided is a lower body garment for men that can retain the penis and the scrotum at the center in the transverse direction at the time of changing of the posture from a standing position to a sitting position, and can prevent the penis or the scrotum from being shifted. The lower body garment for men is configured to include a cloth patch that covers the penis and the scrotum, in which the upper end of the cloth patch and the upper end of the center section of the main garment body are joined, the two ends in the transverse direction of the cloth patch and the center section of the main garment body are joined, and the lower end of the cloth patch and the center section of the main garment body are joined.

Abstract: A non-rigid head guard assembly, constructed in accordance with this invention, provides superior protection against head collisions. The head guard is circular with a narrower section at the forehead and a wider section at the rear to protect the back of the head. The head guard, at the sections in contact with the temple area of the head and the back of the head, is reinforced with an additional layer of foam, The exterior of the assembly is made of breathable and moisture wicking fabric. The interior protective element consists of either a single layer of viscoelastic polyurethane foam or a dual layer viscoelastic polyurethane foam separated by a thin layer of semi-dry lubricant, which is a low friction material, for enhanced wear and corrosion protection.

The at least one pliable middle layer has at least one arrangement of openings that extend at least partially through the at least one pliable middle layer. The outer layer, the at least one pliable middle layer and the pliable inner layer are sealed such that the openings form sealed air pockets in the at least one first pliable middle layer between the outer layer and the pliable inner layer.

Abstract: The current invention discloses a new wrestling headgear with protective pads covering the wearer's entire head, compared with conventional wrestling headpieces that cover only the ears, or forehead and ears. The wrestling headgear herein disclosed may take various forms but in general provides covering for the forehead, top of the head, back of the head, and the ears. In one embodiment, there are a plurality of straps fastening the pads to the ear pieces and the pads and earpieces to the wearer's head. In another embodiment, the pads and the ear pieces are encased in elastic wrappings that may be worn comfortably. The current wrestling headgear is superior that it provides comprehensive protection to the wearer, ensuring the safety of the sport.

My invention appears to be the first that will be displayed in stores everywhere. It will sell very well if displayed in the hair section near the curling irons, hair straighteners, hot rollers and other heated styling devices. My invention will sell very well in retail stores including beauty supply houses and salons.

The pool jet fitting may include a housing and a valve positioned in the housing. The housing may include a housing body that defines a bore that extends through the housing body. The valve may be positioned in the bore of the housing and may be configured to receive water flow from a water pump. The valve may define an adjustable opening having a dimension capable of automatically adjusting between a first dimension and a second dimension to facilitate a predetermined outflow velocity of the water received from the pump.

The apparatus comprises a forewheel assembly comprising a forewheel attached to a base of a pool lift adjacent a forward edge of the base, and a jack comprising a jack wheels. The jack may be attached to the pool lift base in a position where the jack wheel is spaced from the forewheel, and the jack may be actuated to alternately lift and lower the apparatus by alternately moving the jack wheel between extended and retracted positions so as to rotate the pool lift base about the forewheel such that the pool lift base is in contact with a supporting surface when the jack wheel is in its retracted position, and such that the pool lift base is supported in a transport position spaced from the supporting surface by the forewheel and the jack wheel when the jack wheel is in its extended position. The apparatus may include a seat attitude maintenance linkage comprising a single-side two-link crank linkage having a long link spaced to prevent pinching.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a bath seat. The bath seat has a top and a pair of centrally disposed and spaced-apart drainage holes in communication with the top. The top of the seat includes a channel extending between the drainage holes. The channel has an enlarged first end, an enlarged second end and a connecting portion connecting the ends of the channel together. Fluid entering into the channel is directed to the drainage holes and thereby drains from the seat.

The egress handle moves between a stowed position and an assist position. In the stowed position, the egress handle is situated inside a footprint of the patient support. In the assist position, the egress handle extends outside the footprint of the patient support.

Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating sleep is disclosed. Embodiments of the sleep system receive a person's lower arm in an arm cavity of a person laying in a sleep-on-side position. An exemplary sleep system has a trunk rest and head rest. Two separated cantilevered supports extending outwardly from the base portion of the head rest are in contact with and supported by a top edge of the trunk rest, thereby defining an arm aperture that receives the person's lower arm when laying in a sleep-on-side position. An arm cavity is defined by lower surfaces of the two cantilevered supports and a trunk rest cantilevered arm cavity surface that extends generally downward and inward.

Abstract: A support apparatus includes a force sensing array positioned thereon that includes multiple layers of material that are arranged to define an elastically stretchable sensing sheet. The sensing sheet may be placed underneath a patient to detect interface forces or pressures between the patient and the support structure that the patient is positioned on. The force sensing array includes a plurality of force sensors. The force sensors are defined where a row conductor and a column conductor approach each other on opposite sides of a force sensing material, such as a piezoresistive material. In order to reduce electrical cross talk between the plurality of sensors, a semiconductive material is included adjacent the force sensing material to create a PN junction with the force sensing material. This PN junction acts as a diode, limiting current flow to essentially one direction, which, in turn, reduces cross talk between the multiple sensors.
