Abstract: A panel element includes a fabric panel, a corner gasket element and two auxiliary gaskets. The corner gasket element has a tab member and two gasket legs. Each leg extends to respective outer ends from a common intersection in a manner orthogonal to one another. The tab member extends from the intersection in a manner orthogonal to the legs. The auxiliary gaskets each have at least one gasket end positioned adjacently to a respective outer end. The fabric panel has a display face and an outer perimeter portion. The outer perimeter portion is affixed to the gasket legs and the auxiliary gaskets. The gasket legs and auxiliary gasket elements are removably insertable into a perimeter groove disposed in the closed-contour framework, thereby facilitating tensioned attachment of the fabric panel across an opening defined by the closed contour with said tab member gripably protruding outward of the display face.

Abstract: A status-indicating device configured to be mounted over a window in a door. The status-indicating device having a substantially rectangular frame and a first panel and a second panel slidably supported in the frame. The first panel has a first status indicia and the second panel has a second status indicia different than the first status indicia. The first panel and second panel are configured to move between a first position that does not completely obstruct the window and a second position that completely obstructs the window.

Abstract: A lighted sign for a passenger vehicle includes a decal affixed to an exterior of a window and a lamp housing affixed to an interior surface of the vehicle window immediately opposite the decal. The lamp housing includes an electronics module that illuminates the decal only when the vehicle is moving and when there is insufficient exterior light to clearly see the exterior decal. The decal and design are removable and replaceable.

Abstract: A luminescent planar sheet is constructed to provide illuminated alphanumeric characters particularly suitable for mounting upon the planar surfaces of a vehicle. Preferably the luminescent planar sheet can produce visible light, infrared light, or both. A switching system is connected to the luminescent planar panels for selectively controlling power to produce visible light and/or infrared light. The luminescent planar sheet includes a protective coating which permits the passage of both visible light and infrared light, but substantially blocks most or all ultraviolet light.

Abstract: A flexible display member displays variable attributes of a user when the user is outdoors, such as at the beach or camping. The flexible display member is coupled to elongate grounding members that each having a bottom end for inserting into the ground (for example, with a corkscrew shape). The mounting members guide the user to mount the display member at the appropriate height to remain standing in the outdoor environment, and may convert the display member into a flag in some applications.

Abstract: A display apparatus is provided that has multiple contiguously arranged adjustable mounting brackets that each has a proximal base portion and a distal attachment portion. There are a corresponding number of contiguously arranged display frames that are attached to the distal attachment portions of the adjustable mounting brackets. The display frames are designed to accommodate removable displays. The adjustable mounting brackets can be extended and retracted so that the display apparatus can attach to different sized mounting areas.

Abstract: A price channel marketing expander device is used with a standard price channel construction for expanding the marketing potential therefor, the price channel marketing expander device includes a primary spine section, at least one, but preferably a plurality of secondary anterior marketing channel constructions, a posterior device-to-channel tuck-in construction, and a posterior securing tab. Each secondary anterior marketing channel construction has an upwardly extending secondary anterior channel section. Each secondary anterior channel section and the primary spine section define a secondary matter-receiving channel. The posterior device-to-channel tuck-in construction has a downwardly extending tuck-in section. The tuck-in section and the primary spine section defining a tertiary matter-receiving channel.

Abstract: A gun is presented including a frame; a barrel connected to the frame; and a magazine mechanically cooperating with the frame, the magazine having at least one projectile stored therein. The gun further includes an electronic beacon non-removably incorporated within the gun, the electronic beacon configured to emit at least one signal to be received by at least one electronic device located within a pre-established vicinity of the gun. The electronic device provides a notification indicating proximity of the gun. The electronic beacon may be a radio transceiver operating at least one of a plurality of frequencies.

Abstract: A firearm utilizing a ratcheting system to rotate a cylinder containing ammunition is disclosed. The ratchet system is designed to accommodate the cylinder being in an initial safe (without a chamber centered over the barrel and hammer) and subsequent active positions. A ratchet arm protrudes through the breach plate and is supported thereon as it pushes ratchet pads on the cylinder from a starting point in either position to the next active position. Numerous designs for the ratchet pads and the ratchet arm are disclosed, as is a stepped drawbar to accommodate the workings of the firearm and a locking bar that interfaces with both the hammer and locking notches in the circumference of the cylinder so as to release and secure the cylinder in appropriate positions.

Abstract: Extendable tangs are used to increase the surface area of grips so as to better enable users with larger hands to adequately control smaller items. Tangs are stowed within the body of a grip and deployed through one of a number of mechanisms, including spring-loaded and non-spring loaded mechanisms.

Abstract: A black powder pellet loader for a revolver. Tip ends of a number of fingers are movable from a closed position to an open position by sliding a thumb bracket toward a main bottom right end tube. One end of a penetrating tube may penetrate through the second end of a sliding raised rib tube, through a reducer adapter and a finger retaining nut until the end of the penetrating tube strikes a downward bend of each of the fingers. The downward bend of the fingers may continue to slide over the penetrating tube, which may force the tip ends of the fingers diverge from the closed position to the open position. Black powder pellets may be inserted between the fingers when in the open position, and upon release of the thumb bracket may be retained in the fingers when in the closed position.

Abstract: Gun rail attachments, gun components and accessories and systems include attachment bodies made of polymeric materials with hardness ratings and ranges which are generally flexible and malleable and heat resistant. Reinforcing members are combined with the attachment bodies for secure attachment to gun rails and grips with only the polymeric attachment bodies exposed. Pockets, cavities and channels are formed in the attachment bodies for receiving wires, devices, device modules, components or accessories for guns.

Abstract: A fishing lure is provided which includes a jig, a hook integrally formed within the jig, and a number of pellets retained within the jig. The jig includes a male portion and a female portion, each of which has a blind cavity formed therein. The male portion and the female portion are press-fitted together such that the blind cavities form a single, internal cavity within the jig which is configured to retain the number of pellets. The male portion of the jig also includes a groove configured to accept the hook therein. The groove is configured such that the hook is retained within the jig when the male portion and the female portion are press-fitted together. The groove includes a bend portion configured to retain the hook in tension. The groove also includes an exposed portion that is in fluid communication with the internal cavity.

Abstract: A weed deflector for protection of a fishing lure is attached directly to a fishing line and is able to move about freely. The weed deflector may rest on top of the lure or partially engage the lure, and may be used with substantially any existing lure. The weed deflector may come in a variety of shapes, including circular or polygonal, and may be manufactured from a variety of materials, including plastic or metal, in an alternate embodiment, the weed deflector has projections off its base to attract fish to the lure.

Abstract: The present invention provides a personal terminal tackle holder for anglers that releasably retains a plurality of fishing hooks, artificial flies, lures and pre tied leader rigs which is generally carried in an angler's pocket or attached to an item of clothing, fishing vest or gear. The holder includes a generally flat rectangular base made of resilient materials where artificial flies and rigs are held by being slotted into or embedded into the base. The base has two exposed elongated ribs protruding outwards from the base face, located towards both outer ends of the base they protect the tackle from being damaged or accidently dislodged from the device.

Abstract: A trap for spiders and other insects is provided. The trap is especially useful for catching brown recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) spiders, whose bites are extremely harmful. The trap need not utilize chemical attractants or other behavior-modifying environmentally harmful chemicals, or food bait or lights to attract the spiders. In embodiments, the internal volume of the trap is shaped as a triangular prism with open triangular faces and openings in the front. At least a portion of the floor is coated with bug adhesive. The trap can be packaged as a kit including a flat sheet that can be folded a three-dimensional shape. In a useful embodiment the front includes spaced vertical struts. Methods and kits for making using the traps are also provided.

Abstract: Ester derivatives of furoic acids and in particular of 5-methyl-2-furoic acid can be used as fuel as fuel additives. Such esters can be used to displace crude oil products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, etc. As fuel additives, such esters had been shown to improve the performance of spark ignition internal combustion engines, compression ignition internal combustion engines. In addition, testing shows indications that said molecule will improve the performance of air breathing engines as well.

Abstract: A hybrid fuel and methods of making the same. A process for making a hybrid fuel includes the steps of combining a biofuel emulsion blend and a liquid fuel product to form a hybrid fuel. Optionally, the hybrid fuel can be combined with water in a water-in-oil process and include oxygenate additives and additive packages. A hybrid fuel includes blends of biofuel emulsions and liquid fuel products, including light gas diesel. Optionally, the hybrid fuel can include water, oxygenate additives, and other additive packages.

Abstract: To provide less expensive and non-polluting coals of which calorific values are increased by improving composition of coals having high moisture content and low fire power, such as peat and lignite, to thereby increase combustion calorie. Materials of coals are heated in a predetermined temperature range in an oxygen-free atmosphere while injecting inactive gas, and elements except for carbon in the atmosphere and in the coals are individually separated by thermal decomposition in the order from an element having a lower decomposition temperature at a temperature of 450 degrees C. or lower so as to obtain upgraded coals. Since the carbon composing the upgraded coals has strong activity, the upgraded coals have quality equivalent or greater than that of the coal of ordinary quality and demonstrate combustion efficiency that has been significantly improved from those of the materials before upgrading.

Abstract: An energy-saving type plant cultivation system is provided, which includes: a first power source for generating first electric power from solar or wind energy; a plant cultivation device electrically connected to the first power source for receiving the first electric power, and having a plurality of layers of cultivation plates and further having at least a transparent sidewall to facilitate a monitoring staff to observe growth of the plants; a second power source electrically connected to the plant cultivation device so as to supply second electric power to the plant cultivation device; and a power storage unit electrically connected to the first power source, the plant cultivation device and the second power source so as to receive and store the first electric power or the second electric power and supply third electric power to the plant cultivation device if the first electric power or the second electric power is not sufficient.

Abstract: A cut tree watering stand device facilitates watering of a cut tree held in an upright position by a tree stand. The device includes a stand defining an interior space configured for holding liquid. The stand is further configured for receiving a trunk of a cut tree wherein a bottom end of the cut tree is positioned in an interior space of the stand. A reservoir has a bottom wall and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall wherein the reservoir is configured to hold liquid. A receiver is coupled to a reservoir base. The receiver receives the reservoir in an inverted position supported on the reservoir base. A fluid supply line provides liquid from the reservoir to the interior space of the stand through the supply line.

Abstract: A plant container for reducing root circling and promoting air pruning comprising an open top portion, a closed bottom portion, a closed sidewall and a pair of handles woven on either side of the sidewall. The container is made of non-woven geotextile fabric for providing higher air and water permeability for effective plant growth. The fabric promotes air pruning which boosts natural apical dominance of the roots leading to additional root branching. A skeletal support is provided internally or externally to provide a rigid internal structure to the fabric. The rigid internal structure helps easy filling, irrigating, moving and maintaining of the plant container. A pair of hook and loop-type fasteners helps the plant container to remain in a collapsed position when not used. In an alternate embodiment, the sidewalls are formed by vertical skeletal supports or rings enveloped in fabric where borders are sewn together.

Dive motors are pivotally coupled to a support structure. A first drive wheel is attached to one drive motor and engages the first drive surface to impart an axial drive force on the drive rail. A second drive wheel is attached to another drive motor and engages the second drive surface. The second drive wheel has second teeth that mate with the first teeth and that define a second rolling tooth profile that substantially corresponds to the first rolling tooth profile. Rotation of the second drive wheel imparts axial and normal forces via a rolling teeth interface the mating teeth for moving the drive rail and the gate panel.

Accordingly, the tolerance of the annular wall and the waterproof member and the air pressure inside an opening both force the waterproof member to move.

Abstract: A safety guard or gate for placement in a frame of an opening to prevent a child or pet from passing though the opening. The present invention includes an adjustable means for adjusting the guard to fit the width of the frame, wherein the adjustable means has a first end and a second end to form an axis along which the means can be adjusted. The invention further includes an attachment means for securing the guard to the frame; and a securing means for securing the adjustable means to the attachment means. The securing means prevents the adjustable means from disengaging from the attachment means along the axis when in a locked position, and allows disengagement and reengagement of the adjustable means in direction that transects the axis when the securing means is in an unlocked position. The present invention further includes methods for using the safety guard, and systems that include elements of the safety guard.

Abstract: The present invention provides a high-visibility roof-drain system for inspecting and unblocking roof-drains in a large building having a flat roof and typically multiple high visibility roof-drain covers coupled to multiple internal drainpipes. Each internal drainpipe defines a drainpipe inlet on the roof of the building, and a drainpipe outlet proximate to the level of the foundation of the building. The above-mentioned high-visibility roof-drain system preferably includes a plurality of high-visibility roof-drain covers. Each high-visibility roof-drain cover includes one roof-drain cover, one elongated, marked, reversible flag, and one flag coupler for coupling the flag to the roof-drain cover. The flag defines a first flag end and a second flag end. A first flag end is up when its associated second flag end is mounted to the roof-drain cover. A second flag end is up when its associated first flag end is mounted to the roof-drain cover.

Abstract: A wind turbine with a tower, a nacelle and a yaw bearing, wherein the yaw bearing is arranged and prepared for rotating the nacelle relative to the tower around a yaw axis is provided. The yaw bearing has a first yaw bearing component which is fixed to the tower, a second yaw bearing component which is fixed to the nacelle, and at least one sliding component which is located between the first yaw bearing component and the second yaw bearing component. The wind turbine is prepared and arranged for housing at least one lifting device for lifting the nacelle relative to the tower such that the sliding component can be removed. Furthermore, a method of lifting the nacelle relative to the tower is provided. Thus, the sliding component may be removed and the removed sliding component may be replaced by a re-placement sliding component.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing a safe room environment within an attic space utilizing a typical folding attic stair and door assembly. The system includes components that retrofit to an existing folding attic stair in a manner that allows the user to draw the attic stair up behind them and to secure the attic door panel closed and locked while the user is within the attic space. The components include a retractable lift cord attached to a middle section of the attic stair, and a lift rod attached to the attic door. Brackets and frames positioned on the attic door and door frame allow the user to pull up to fold and raise the stair into the attic space. A lock may then secure the attic stair closed preventing access from below. Methods for installing the system and using the system are provided.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is a reflector assembly for a skylight curb and the method of installing same through a safety grid from the roof. The purpose of the disclosed subject matter is to improve the optical performance of skylight curbs. The reflector assembly is manufacture from metallized polymer film, trimmed to match the desired interior curb surface where it will be mounted, and equipped with attachment devices to facilitate installation. The reflector assembly is configured by folding or rolling into a compact shape, passing it through an opening in the safety grid, unfolding it, and securing it in its proper position using the integrated attachment devices.

Abstract: A poke-through pathway device positionable extending through an opening in building panel, such as a wall, ceiling or floor, which defines a duct through which penetrating members, such as cables or wiring may be placed to extend through a building panel wherein the pathway device provides a limited level of protection against fire, heat, smoke or sound being transmitted or traveling therethrough. The present invention provides a limited low level of fire resistance along with some resistance to the transmission of smoke, heat or sound through the duct in those applications where a fully fire-rated device is not required. The present invention includes a two-piece outer housing assembly and with a two-piece inner housing assembly that are telescopically movable with respect to one another for adjustable positioning thereof through building panels of various thicknesses. A two-piece elastomeric wedge seal is positionable on each side of the interior of the inner housing to facilitating sealing.

The non load bearing partition wall comprises at-least two pre-cast concrete panels arranged in back to back fashion. The pre-cast concrete panel comprises several ribs for enhancing the stiffness matrix. The two ribs are adopted at the two opposite edges of the pre-cast concrete panel and one rib is adopted at the center. The non load bearing partition wall comprises a cavity formed between the pre-cast concrete wall panels. The cavity uses the concept of monolithic property to prevent bending along the width and length, with a special method of anchorage. The panel comprises an inbuilt duct facility to add service fixtures and also to allow for modifications after installation.

The system improves the R-value of the building, a measure of the building's resistance to transferring heat or thermal energy.

Abstract: A flooring for covering a floor substrate includes a hybrid underlayment and a plurality of interlocking synthetic tiles. The hybrid underlayment is coupled to the floor substrate with a first adhesive layer. The hybrid underlayment includes an extruded thermoplastic sheet having a plurality of gas-filled expanded thermoplastic microspheres distributed throughout the thermoplastic sheet. Each of the plurality of interlocking synthetic tiles is coupled to the hybrid underlayment with a second adhesive layer.

Abstract: A frame connector assembly is adapted to releasably secure first and second frame members in line with one another. The connector assembly includes first and second expansion elements elastically interconnected. The second expansion element includes two hollow lobes joined by a web. When the connector assembly is received by the two frame members, threaded rotation of one or more threaded actuators forces the expansion elements apart and into engagement with opposing primary walls of the frame members. The threaded actuator also presses against the web, thereby causing resilient outward rotation of the lobes. This rotation results in compressive engagement between the outboard edges of the second expansion element and respective intermediate walls of the frame members. Thus, the connector assembly imposes locking forces to the frame members along two axes orthogonal to the main axis of the frame connector assembly. The expansion elements may have an identical extrusion cross-section.
