Abstract: The present invention provides a blade tip for a rotary blade, the blade tip comprising a first portion and a radially-recessed second portion. A radially outermost surface of the first portion comprises a first abrasive coating e.g. a composite material comprising cubic boron nitride embedded in a matrix of nickel alloy. A radially outermost surface of the second portion comprises a second abrasive coating which has a greater resistance to oxidation than the first abrasive coating. The increased oxidation resistance of the second abrasive coating is achieved by providing a radially outer protective layer and/or using a material having a greater inherent oxidation resistance.

The dosing system includes a fluid distributor providing exhaust treatment fluid under pressure to a plurality of dosing modules that dose exhaust treatment fluid into the exhaust stream and a return for returning unused exhaust treatment fluid to the tank. A valve is positioned between the fluid distributor and the return and is configured to allow a flow of exhaust treatment fluid from the return to the fluid distributor before being returned to the tank during a purge operation. A controller is configured to open the valve and allow communication between the return and the fluid distributor during the purge operation such that unused exhaust treatment fluid drains during the purge operation.

Abstract: The invention relates to an SCR line for treatment of exhaust from an internal combustion engine; and including a first hose to carry a reducing agent, a second hose to carry a tempering agent and a pipe enclosing the two hoses. The two hoses are arranged in the pipe so as to run side by side in parallel. Each of the same-side ends of the first hose and of the pipe are connected to a reducing agent coupling housing. The ends of the second hose are each connected to a tempering agent coupling part separate from the reducing agent coupling housing. At least one of the reducing agent coupling housings has a through-opening at the outer perimeter. The second hose runs from the interior of the pipe through the through-opening to the outside. Furthermore, the invention relates to an SCR line bundle with an SCR line.

Abstract: Systems and methods to selectively control plurality of dosing modules may include receiving data indicative of an exhaust flow rate. An amount of reductant to be dosed may be determined based, at least in part, on the data indicative of the exhaust flow rate. A decomposition delay time may also be determined and a first dosing module and a second dosing module may be selectively activated. The first dosing module may be selectively activated at a first time and the second dosing module is selectively activated at a second time. The second time is based on the first time and the determined decomposition delay time.

Abstract: A method for operating a device for the dosed supply of a liquid includes: detecting a demanded dose amount of the liquid; activating an electric drive of a pump to move a seal in a delivery direction from an inlet to an outlet to deliver the liquid by application of an operating voltage to the electric drive; stopping operation of the pump when the delivered amount of the liquid corresponds to the demanded dose amount; stopping movement of an eccentric; and maintaining a holding voltage at the electric drive. In response to the holding voltage, a holding torque is exerted on the eccentric and a movement of the eccentric counter to the delivery direction is prevented.

Abstract: A flowhood is provided to which an upstream conduit and a downstream conduit of an emissions cleaning module can be connected includes a first section and a second section. The second section includes a first aperture for connection to the upstream conduit and a second aperture for connection to the downstream conduit. The first and second apertures may face substantially in the same direction to permit a compact arrangement. A body of the first section may be shaped to channel gas flow from the first aperture to the second aperture. An emissions cleaning module including such a flowhood is also described.

Abstract: Diagnostic accuracy is improved when abnormality diagnosis of a particulate filter is carried out by using a PM sensor arranged in an exhaust passage downstream of the particulate filter. An abnormality diagnostic device for a particulate filter includes a PM sensor arranged in an exhaust passage at the downstream side of the particulate filter so as to output a signal corresponding to an amount of PM deposited in between electrodes which constitute a sensor element, and a filter diagnostic unit to carry out filter diagnostic processing in which abnormality of the particulate filter is diagnosed based on an output value of the PM sensor, wherein it is decided whether to carry out the filter diagnostic processing based on a degree of variation in the output value of the PM sensor before the filter diagnostic processing is carried out.

Abstract: An air-fuel ratio sensor is provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine which can perform fuel cut control, and detects an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas. The system calculates the response time of the air-fuel ratio sensor based on a changing output value of the air-fuel ratio sensor while performing or after fuel cut control, and compares the calculated response time and a threshold value to diagnose an abnormality. The abnormality diagnosis system is configured to correct the response time so that the response of the air-fuel ratio sensor is treated as becoming faster, the smaller the lean degree of the air-fuel ratio corresponding to the converged value of the air-fuel ratio sensor during fuel cut control; and diagnose an abnormality in the response of the air-fuel ratio sensor based on the corrected calculated response time and threshold value.

Abstract: A method for operating an exhaust gas purification system of a motor vehicle internal combustion engine is disclosed. The system has an SCR catalyst where a reducing agent containing ammonia is metered into the exhaust gas at a predeterminable metering rate which is produced from a base value and an adaptation factor which corrects the base value. A test procedure checks and, if appropriate, adjusts the adaptation factor where a first nitrogen oxide value is compared with a second nitrogen oxide value of the exhaust gas, where the first and the second nitrogen oxide value are determined by the same nitrogen oxide sensor disposed downstream of the SCR catalyst. The first nitrogen oxide value is determined when the metering of the reducing agent is switched off and the second nitrogen oxide value is determined when the reducing agent is metered at a test metering rate which can be predetermined.
