The lower and upper soles can have grooves to allow for expansion and contraction. The article of footwear can also include a width adjustment assembly. The width adjustment assembly can have a lead screw, an adjustment device accessible to a wearer from the outside of the article of footwear, an actuation strap, an anchor plate connected to the actuation strap. Rotation of the adjustment device can cause the lead screw to rotate, which in turn can change the tension in the actuation strap. Changes to the tension in the actuation strap can cause the width of the forefoot portion of an article of footwear to be adjusted.

The article of footwear can also include a heel cup capable of moving between a fore position and an aft position. This can be accomplished using one or more length adjustment mechanisms that each slidably engage the one or more anchors, such that they have an unlocked state and a locked state. In the unlocked state, the heel cup can move with respect to the one or more anchors; and in the locked state cannot move with respect to the one of more anchors.

The chassis has one or more components adapted to protect a user's foot from injury. The insertion of the chassis within the shell permanently affixes the one or more components within the at least one recessed area of the shell.

Abstract: A sole structure of an article of footwear has a support assembly structure including a flexure element and an upper support element. The flexure element may have a central portion located between first and second ground-contacting or lower regions, wherein the central portion may have a downwardly concavely-curved shell-like region. The flexure element also may have first and second flanges extending upward from the first and second lower regions, respectively. The upper support element is positioned above the central portion and between the first and second flanges of the flexure element. When a vertical compressive load is first applied to the upper support element, the upper support element moves vertically relative to the first and second flanges. An article of footwear having the sole structure attached to an upper is also provided.

The method includes disposing a main body on an outsole portion of the shoe wrap, folding at least a heel rand portion of the shoe wrap up a back of the main body, and folding a toe rand portion of the shoe wrap about a toe box of the main body.

The luggage may also include an identification device for obtaining information identifying a user and a computing device, such as a microcontroller or processor. The computing device may be configured to compare identification information with reference identification information to determine whether a user is authorized to access an interior of the luggage. Based on results of the comparison, the computing device may control a locking mechanism to unlock one or more of lids of the luggage to allow a user access to the interior of the luggage. The luggage may also include a GPS transceiver for tracking the luggage, a sensor for weighing the luggage, or a coupling mechanism to couple the luggage to another piece of luggage.

Abstract: A luggage tracking and surveillance system uses a zipper pull attached to a conventional suitcase closure zipper and a retaining fastener attached to conventional fastening straps securing contents inside the suitcase. An observer is not aware of the specially designed zipper pull and retaining fastener because they mimic the appearance of their conventional counterparts. The external zipper pull communicates wirelessly with the retaining fastener inside the suitcase when a zipper pull touch sensor senses that the suitcase has been opened. This awakens a retainer fastener power supply and activates a recording system in the fastener to create a record of the person who opened the suitcase. The retaining fastener can also sense the presence of a human and independently activate the recording system. Recorded still pictures, video, and audio, along with location information supplied by GPS circuitry in the zipper pull and/or retaining fastener, are transmitted to a remote database.

Abstract: A multipurpose piece of furniture (1) has four square panels (3, 4, 6, 7), i.e., a first vertical side panel (3), a second vertical side panel (4) arranged parallel thereto, a third panel (6) that is arranged between an edge (5) of the first side panel (3) and an edge of the second side panel (4) at a right angle to the first side panel (3) and the second side panel (4) and that connects the first side panel (3) and the second side panel (4) into a U-shaped piece of furniture. The fourth panel is an intermediate panel (7) that is inserted into the piece of furniture between the first side panel (3) and the second side panel (4) at a right angle thereto and at a right angle to the third panel (6).
