Abstract: The disclosed latex system comprises a one-component, closed-cell, semi-foam, mastic sealant using gas-filled, flexible, organic microspheres to create a product that is elastic and compressible under pressure without protruding in an outward direction when compressed, thereby allowing the applied sealant to compress in an enclosed, maximum-filled channel unlike typical mastic sealants (while retaining the ability to rebound). This allows the sealant to function as a gasket, and, once fully cured, to have properties including vibration damping, insulating, and condensation resistance. The sealant can be formulated as an air barrier or a vapor barrier and at various degrees of moisture resistance. It may be applied by different packaging variations including aerosol can (bag in can or bag on valve), airless sprayer, cartridge tubes, foil tubes, squeeze tubes, and buckets to be applied using a brush, trowel, spatula, etc.

Abstract: In order to provide a methacrylic resin composition that maintains all of physical properties such as excellent solvent resistance, heat resistance, mechanical strength, and stringing resistance, and has particularly excellent fluidity and also heat stability, the present invention provides a methacrylic resin composition that satisfies conditions (I) through (IV) and includes two types of methacrylic resins having mutually different peak molecular weights. (I) The weight ratio of methyl methacrylate units in the methacrylic resin is greater than 98.5 wt % with respect to 100 wt % of all monomer units. (II) The HP value indicating the higher peak molecular weight satisfies the expression 180,000?HP?220,000. (III) The LP value indicating the lower peak molecular weight satisfies the expression 24,000?LP?35,000.

Abstract: The present invention is an asphalt rejuvenator made from a specific styrenic block copolymer, bio-based oil or a bio-based oil blend, and an antioxidant system. The bio-based oil or a bio-based oil blend has a flash point of >230 ° C., and the asphalt rejuvenator has a maximum viscosity of <2000 cP at 180° C. when measured at 6.8/seconds shear rate. An alternate embodiment of the present invention is a pavement composition of RAP and/or RAS, asphalt rejuvenator, and virgin asphalt with and without a crosslinker. Lastly, the invention includes a method of making an asphalt rejuvenator composition referred to above, and blending it with RAP and fresh asphalt. An emulsion is also described and claimed comprising asphalt rejuvenator, water and an emulsifier.
