Abstract: In a method for producing nanofibrillar cellulose, cellulose based fibre material, in which internal bonds in cellulose fibres have been weakened by preliminary modification of cellulose, is subjected to disintegration treatment in form of pulp comprising fibres and liquid. The fibre material is supplied at a consistency higher than 10 wt-%, preferably at least 15 wt-%, to a disintegration treatment where fibrils are detached from the fibre material by joint effect of repeated impacts to the fibre material by fast moving successive elements and the weakened internal bonds of the cellulose fibres. The nanofibrillar cellulose is withdrawn from the disintegration treatment at dry matter which is equal or higher than the consistency of the fibre material. In the disintegration treatment, the fibre material is supplied through several counter-rotating rotors (R1, R2, R3 . . .

Abstract: A trench drain with a trench body and a grate for use with a flush-threshold or low-threshold shower. The trench body is rectangular, with a drain hole positioned in the bottom. Front and back flanges extend from the bottom of the front and back sides for an absolute flush installation of the trench drain to the shower body and the bathroom flooring. The trench body may extend under the shower walls on each side. A grate fits into the top of the trench body onto a lip or edge on the interior of the front and back sides. Protrusions may extend inward to help provide support and stability for the grate.

Abstract: Insulated building products, methods and structure using those products are disclosed. The embodiments described include building materials having a core of encapsulated polystyrene (EPS) which is completely coated with a polymer. The polymer coating provides protection and structural integrity to the foam such that structures made of EPS foam can support multiple human beings without incurring damage. Moreover, additional embodiments are provided in which additional structural integrity is provided by affixing one or more rigid materials to the EPS foam prior to coating. The results, as disclosed, are light-weight, portable building structures that provide protection from the weather and that can be easily heated or cooled.

Abstract: A building element includes an upper side, a lower side, at least one first lateral face, and at least one first end face, where the at least one lateral face is formed with a longitudinal lateral groove such that a longitudinal upper grove edge and a longitudinal lower groove edge are formed. The upper groove edge has a toothed shape. A building includes one or more load bearing elements, and a plurality of building elements connected to respective load bearing elements. A method of joining building elements and load bearing elements in a building includes providing the load bearing elements with a not-cast upper part, putting up the load bearing elements, arranging two or more double T building elements therewith, pulling the telescoping elements, and cast filling the joints between the building elements and the upper part of the load bearing elements such that a smooth surface is formed.

Abstract: A construction method and apparatus used to form a surround, container or other structure. Posts have slots into which walls, which may be planks or made up of planks, are inserted and retained. Numerous posts may be used with numerous walls therebetween to form many and varied structures. The finished structure is modular, because the posts and walls are not damaged when the walls mount in the slots. Therefore, if more or fewer posts and/or walls are desired later, one need merely disassemble the structure and add the components desired to the existing structure. The walls may have fittings that attach to the inserted ends that cooperate with structures in the slots formed in the posts so the walls are held from being removed from the slots except along the length of the slots.

Abstract: Tool Free Rebar Tie—A metal wire tie consisting of a piece of 16 gauge wire between 8 and 12 inches long with a loop on each end and each loop closed with a twist. The inventive device is used to fasten rebar on construction sites prior to a concrete pour. The user grips the wire, placing gloved fingers through the loops, and wraps the wire around the joint where two rebar sections come together. The tie is used in place of a mechanical system and requires no tools or other devices to fasten the metal rods which reinforce concrete. Application of the tie is 2-3 times faster than the method currently in use providing substantial savings in man power and time for virtually any construction job where reinforced concrete is required.
