Abstract: An antenna assembly including a planar antenna formed on a dielectric substrate and a frequency selective impedance surface formed on the substrate and at least partially surrounding the antenna. The frequency selective impedance surface receives surface waves propagating along the dielectric substrate generated by the antenna, where the impedance surface mitigates negative effects of the surface waves by converting the surface wave energy into leaky-wave radiation, and also possibly providing some control of the radiation gain pattern of the antenna. In one embodiment, the dielectric substrate is vehicle glass, such as a vehicle windshield.

Abstract: A multiple-antenna positioning system with a single drive element, providing reduced weight and complexity over systems that have a drive element for each antenna. In certain examples, each antenna can be coupled with a rotating spindle, with each antenna spindle being coupled with a pair of link arms. By driving a single drive spindle, each of the antenna spindles in the system can be rotated by the associated pair of link arms. The link arms can have an adjustable length, such as through a turnbuckle mechanism, to reduce backlash in the system, and in some examples can apply a preload to the system. By reducing backlash, the multiple antenna positioning system can have improved responsiveness to a rotation of the single drive element, as well as improved stability of the positioning of each antenna when the drive element is held in a fixed position.

Abstract: A non-reciprocal device using a space-time modulation scheme. By applying the space-time modulation scheme, reciprocity in radiation and scattering scenarios is prevented. Such a scheme utilizes a linear system with simple, compact and inexpensive electronic components compared to the current use of bulky duplexers and non-reciprocal magnet based phase shifters to provide non-reciprocity. One such linear system involves traveling-wave antennas loaded with voltage dependent capacitors that are modulated in space and time thereby allowing the antenna to transmit with high directivity in a certain direction and not receive from that direction. Another linear system involves a resonant metasurface characterized by transverse spatiotemporal gradients, where the spatiotemporal gradients include periodically modulated impedances thereby causing a non-reciprocal transmission response.

According to this configuration, the metal foil makes it possible to prevent strands in the end portions of the braided wire from becoming loose and spreading apart, and this makes it possible to manufacture the electrical wire with a terminal fitting without using a welding device.

Abstract: An electric apparatus comprises a casing formed of an electrically insulating material and at least one connection terminal mounted in the casing and intended to establish and maintain a contact between an electrical conductor inserted in the connection terminal and an electrical link bar mounted in the casing to ensure an electrical connection between the electrical link bar and the electrical conductor. The connection terminal is of the push-in type and comprises a contact spring configured so that the contact between the electrical conductor and the electrical link bar results from a force insertion of the electrical conductor in opposition to the action of the contact spring and is automatically maintained by the contact spring after insertion of the electrical conductor. The casing comprises a peripheral wall and a cover configured to be assembled together along a mounting direction substantially parallel to the direction in which the electrical conductor is inserted in the connection terminal.

The terminal comprises a contact spring having an elastic portion undergoing an elastic deformation under the action of an external force applied on the contact spring either by an electrical conductor during its insertion at a first aperture of the casing so as to place the electrical conductor in a contact position located between the contact spring and the conductive bar in order to establish an electrical connection between the electrical conductor and the conductive bar, or by a tool inserted into a second aperture of the casing so as to open the contact spring and release the electrical conductor in order to remove it out of its contact position. The electrical apparatus comprises a support clip independent of the casing and of the conductive bar.

Abstract: A wall mountable connector is configured for securing a thermostat to a wall. The wall mountable connector is further configured to provide electrical connections with field wires exiting the wall and in turn to provide electrical connection with the thermostat. In some instances, the wall mountable connector is configured to provide easier connections with the field wires. In some cases, for example, the wall mountable connector is configured to better accommodate more commonly used field wires, and in some cases, space the more commonly used field wires from one another.
