Abstract: A reel for tightening an article includes a housing and a spool positioned within the housing. A knob is coupled with the spool to cause the spool to rotate within the housing and thereby wind a tension member about a central post of the spool. A load holding mechanism is coupled with the spool and the housing and includes a first friction element and a second friction element that are frictionally engageable to prevent rotation of the spool in a second direction to prevent unwinding of the tension member from the spool's central post. Rotation of the knob in a first direction reduces frictional engagement of the friction elements to enable rotation of the spool in the first direction and tension in the tension member biases the spool toward rotation in the second direction which increases the frictional engagement of the friction elements.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for three-dimensional printing directly onto an article of apparel. Disclosed is a method and system for direct three-dimensional printing onto an article of apparel, including positioning at least a portion of the article on a tray in a three-dimensional printing system, the portion being positioned substantially flat on the tray, printing a three-dimensional material directly onto the article using a three-dimensional pattern, curing the printed material, and removing the article from the three-dimensional printing system.

Abstract: Elements are made of a polyacetal resin, which can effectively improve the chain crosswise strength while maintaining wear resistance. Provided is a fastener element made of a polyacetal resin composition containing 5 to 30% by mass of reinforcing fibers each having an average fiber diameter of 5 to 15 ?m and a numeric average fiber length of 150 to 500 ?m.

Abstract: The embodiments herein disclose hypoallergenic, metal surface sealant clear aerosol composition to be used on metals (specifically jewelry) to prevent skin allergies and the process of tarnishing of metal. The method of synthesizing hypoallergenic metal surface sealant clear aerosol composition comprises the following steps. The paraloid-B-48 material (10.59 wt %) is added to ethyl acetate (31.77 wt %) slowly under constant agitation. The mixture comprising paraloid-B-48 material and ethyl acetate is agitated till no lumps are present. The butyl acetate (8.47 wt %), TAXIB Plasticizer (0.70 wt %), propylene glycol monomethyl ether (PM) acetate (19.77 wt %), ethyl acetate (28.24 wt %), Chemia #46210 Lavandin (0.42 wt %) and dimethyl ether to the mixture comprising paraloid-B-48 material and ethyl acetate are added to the mixture comprising paraloid B-48 material and ethyl acetate to obtain a composition. The composition is blended at a predetermined speed to uniformly mix the components.

Abstract: An adaptive ambulatory support includes a shock absorbing and pivoting tip assembly attached to the staff of a walking aid, such as a cane, crutch or walker. The shock absorbing and pivoting tip assembly includes a shock absorber sandwiched between a lower portion and an upper portion. The shock absorber may be a bendable spring or elastic material. The tip assembly enables the shaft of the walking aid to dynamically pivot without the loss of adherence of the lower portion to the floor surface and simultaneous provides the adaptive shock absorbing capability in any angle during ambulation.

Abstract: The packages described by this invention all have reduced “head space,” that is, the distance from lid to lens. Packages contain dimples to achieve this reduced head space. Specifically, packages are designed with dimple sag equal to or less than 1.90-mm, or volume displaced equal to or less than 360 ?l. Combined with the existing primary packaging, it has been found that such conditions provide for reduction in folded lens rate during shipping and handling. As well, lenses stored or having an extended time in low head space packages in a “foil down” orientation now have characteristics closer lenses stored in a “foil up orientation.

The knitted performance fabric has a gauge per square inch, grams per square meter, air permeability and material content that are pre-selected to provide the knitted performance fabric with one or more selected physical features.
