According to various embodiments, the system is configured to identify, based telematics data captured from the vehicles, turns executed by the vehicle during a particular time period. The system is further configured to analyze the identified turns to determine and display various turn segment attributes to a user in order to provide an indication of turns having an abnormal or excessive duration and/or to provide overall efficiency-indicative information relating to the vehicle turns.

In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving, by a processor, sensor data indicating a measured value from a first sensor; receiving, by a processor, sensor data indicating measured values from a plurality of other sensors; computing, by a processor, virtual values based on a vehicle model and the sensor data from the plurality of other sensors; computing, by a processor, a residual difference between the measured value from the first sensor and the virtual values; detecting, by a processor, whether a fault exists in the first sensor based on the residual difference; and when a fault in the sensor is detected, generating, by a processor, a control value based on the virtual values instead of the measured value.

The electronic processor is configured to activate and deactivate a decompression mode of the engine. The electronic processor acquires the operating speed of the engine from the sensor and determines an engine roughness based on the operating speed of the engine. Abstract: An access control system utilizes authorized users' mobile electronic devices for transmitting biometric identifiers in combination with using an access card for authenticating the user's access privileges for unlocking a secure door. The system may further verify proximity of the user's device to the access control reader, which verifies correspondence of the access card with the transmitted biometric characteristics. The system may further require entry of a PIN into the user's device, for its transmission to the access control system for access confirmation. A scanner scans the area around its geographic location for signals emitted by mobile electronic devices, and identifies a position, a type, and an address of each device, using characteristics of the signals. Audio analytics detect/identify a position of sudden sound fluctuations indicating a gunshot/fight incident, and correlates the incident location to a device location. Video analytics correlate imaged people with detected electronic devices.

The powered asset beacons may be configured to receive signals transmitted from the asset beacons and to ascertain a relative location between the asset beacon and the powered asset to determine an estimated location of the asset. Moreover, the asset beacons may be selectively activated based on the occurrence of a trigger event, such that the asset beacons do not wireless transmit information/data when it is desirable to limit wireless data transmissions.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a vehicle occupant detection and alert system including an onboard apparatus including a controller operably connected to an occupancy sensor, an environment sensor and a transceiver. The controller generates a signal indicating that an occupant is present. A mobile communication device is operably connected to the transceiver. The mobile communication device includes a processor which upon execution of instructions performs the steps including: receiving a signal from the controller indicating that an occupant is in the vehicle, responsive to an alert condition, initiating a first alert mode, wherein a first notification is generated and the functionality of the mobile device is restricted; and generating a prompt to enter a code to acknowledge the first notification, wherein the functionality restriction is removed in response to entry of the code.
