Abstract: A sole structure for an article of footwear comprises a first sole plate with a foot-receiving surface, a ground-facing surface opposite the foot-receiving surface, and an opening in the ground facing surface extending at least partway through the first sole plate and from a lateral side to a medial side of the first sole plate in a forefoot region. The first sole plate has a first wall at a forward extent of the opening, a second wall at a rear extent of the opening, and at least one tensile member disposed in the opening. The tensile member has a forward end fixed to the first wall, a rear end fixed to the second wall. A midportion of the at least one tensile member is transversely offset from both the forward end and the rear end by a first offset distance when the sole structure is in an unflexed, relaxed state.

Abstract: A midsole structure for a shoe not only maintains stability at the time of impacting the ground and improves cushioning property but also eliminates discomfort to a foot sole and improves ride feeling during running. The midsole structure (1) comprises at least two midsoles provided at a heel region of the shoe and having a hardness difference. On opposite sides of the heel region, an upper midsole (2) of a greater hardness has a thickness greater than a thickness of a lower midsole (3) of a smaller hardness. In a central part of the heel region, the lower midsole (3) of a smaller hardness has a thickness greater than a thickness of the upper midsole (2) of a greater hardness. Boundary surfaces (2B, 3A) between the upper midsole (2) and the lower midsole (3) do not appear on a top surface of the midsole structure (1) (that is, a foot sole contact surface (2A) of the upper midsole (2)).

Abstract: An article of footwear includes an upper, a sole attached to the upper, and an impact absorber attached to the upper at least along a midfoot region of the upper and capable of absorbing a portion of a lateral impact when the impact absorber is moved into contact with a top surface of the sole. The impact absorber is be integrally formed with the sole and has a width that varies along a length of the impact absorber. The width of the impact absorber decreases in a forefoot region and a heel region. The upper rolls to contact the top surface of the sole upon lateral impact. The sole and the upper may be attached asymmetrically.

Abstract: There are disclosed high heel shoes where separate components combine to create load balancing internal footwear technology. A two-piece system includes interlocking toe bed and shank constructed of complex three dimensional curved surfaces which create an intricately sculpted volume to provide structural support down the length of the entire foot. The toe bed provides a wide base and keeps the big toe pointed straight (at an approximately 10° angle). A heel maximizes the surface area of the bottom of the heel at the point of strike with the ground while retaining a minimal and aesthetically appealing silhouette from the side view. The toe bed and shank feature a composition of layered materials which when combined work to provide both stability and shock absorption to the ball of the foot during the foot strike of walking. An internal support structure provides a padded barrier and intermediary between the rigidity of the shank and the softness of the shoe upper.

Abstract: A three-way shoelace structure comprises a first lace, a second lace, and a third lace. when a first three-way shoelace structure and a second three-way shoelace structure are passing through a plurality of eyelets of a shoe, the first lace, the second lace, and the third lace of the first three-way shoelace structure may be tied with the first lace, the second lace, and the third lace of the second three-way shoelace structure to form three tied points so as to bind up and fix at three fixed points of a foot of a wearer.

Abstract: A quick tightening system for a shoe comprises at least two shoelace segments, a pull-tab having a first side of a hook-and-loop fastener on a bottom surface of the pull-tab, and a second side of the hook-and-loop fastener. The at least two shoelace segments each includes an aglet at a distal end of the shoelace segment, each of the at least two shoelace segments coupled to the first side of the shoe at a proximal end of the shoelace segment and extending through the eyelets on the first side of the shoe. The pull-tab includes aglet channels. The aglet channels each is sized to removably receive at least a portion of one of the aglets into one of the aglet channel while each of the at least two shoelace segments extends from the aglet channels into the eyelets on the first side of the shoe. The second side of the hook-and-loop fastener is disposed on an outer surface of the second side of the shoe.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically adjusting the fit of a wearable electronic device are disclosed. In many embodiments, a tensioner associated with a wearable electronic device can control one or more actuators that are mechanically coupled to either the housing or to a band attached to the wearable electronic device. In one example, in response to a signal to increase the tightness of the band, the tensioner can cause the actuator(s) to increase the tension within the band.

Abstract: A safety clutch for releasable securing of a post for a body piercing is disclosed. The post is guided through hole in a plate to be secured (but removable) between a pair of cantilever spring elements bent from the edges of the plate into position on the back side of the plate. A dome shield is also secured to the edge of plate to cover the cantilever spring elements on back side of the clutch, the dome shield including one or more ventilation holes for reducing moisture accumulation within the dome shield. The dome shield blocks an end of the post extending between the cantilever spring elements from contacting the user and possibly puncturing skin. The plate, dome shield and cantilever spring elements can be efficiently manufactured by forming and stamping from a single piece of material.

The extendable sled device is integrated with, or attached to, the object being transported. The extendable sled device has an extendable sled controlled by an extension mechanism. The extendable sled is lowered by the extension mechanism when in use, and retracted when not in use. The extendable sled can also have one or more stopper mechanisms, which are used to arrest the luggage on a set of stairs if a user accidentally releases the luggage midway up the flight. The stopper mechanisms prevent the luggage from falling back down the steps and potentially injuring people.

Abstract: A system and method for an intelligent hair drying/styling apparatus with user information transmission and storage capabilities is herein provided. The hair drying/styling apparatus houses a control circuit board and an infrared or temperature sensor (or camera) in order detect an individual's hair condition moisture level to determine a user specific, customizable dryer setting. The information detected by the sensor is stored locally, on a proximal Internet-enabled device, or on a remote or cloud-based server and accessed by the hair drying/styling apparatus through a wireless local area network connectivity function. Accordingly, a user's hair temperature-drying profile may be stored and later recalled to provide optimal hair styling setting customized for that user. This innovation will enable any number of hair professionals and or end consumers to improve styling and dry time.

Abstract: A method for applying and distributing hair fibers using a low rigidity, high density bristle-based applicator. After dispensing hair fibers onto the head and scalp, the applicator is guided over the surface of a thinning hair area in the direction of the hair growth. Specially designed bristles grab and position each hair and blend and distribute hair fibers evenly for a natural appearance. The applicator is further used to remove misplaced fibers and can be used to style hair after a holding mist has been applied.

A carrier link is pivotably coupled to the bottoms of the front and rear glide links. A rear blocker cam is pivotably coupled to the carrier link. Similarly, a front blocker cam is also pivotably coupled to the carrier link. The rear blocker cam and the front blocker cam are operably coupled to cooperatively engage the blocker pin on the rear glide link when the glider-recliner is moved from the closed position to the TV and full-recline positions, preventing movement of the rear glide link (and thus the gliding movement supported by the carrier link).

The resulting pivot point for the back is projected upwardly and forwardly, to a point where an upholstered back and seat meet on a finished chair.

Abstract: The invention is a novel model involving a folding chair with back rest, including small U-shaped bars, large U-shaped bars, and back rest U-shaped bars. The small U-shaped bars and large U-shaped bars' two ends have short vertical bars and long vertical bars cross-hinged to form supports. The backrest U-shaped bars' two backrest vertical bars are hinged on the large U-shaped bars' two long vertical bars top outside face. This forms a back rest weight support, and the two backrest vertical bars will tighten the back rest fabric. In this: the small U-shaped bars' two corners become a narrowing structure, shrinking the length of the short horizontal bar, and the soft stool surface forms a trapezoid shape. This uses a new small U-shaped bar two corner narrowing structure, which creates definite space in the corners to avoid the short horizontal bar top from blocking the legs.

Abstract: Seating device (1) comprising a base plate (2) for a user to sit on and a pelvic support (3) for supporting in a vertical position the pelvis of a user sitting on said base plate (2) without supporting or immobilising said user's vertebrae, wherein said pelvic support (3) is configured for contacting said pelvis (9) at the posterior superior iliac spines (PSIS) (91) and/or at the iliac crests (92), without any contact to said user's vertebrae wherein said seating device is configured for maintaining an angle of 93° to 97° between the vertically supported pelvis (9) and the femoral bones of said user. In embodiments, the seating device includes a mechanism to encourage the user's upper body mobility, for example a convex base.
