Abstract: In the life rhythm measurement system, a distance measuring device measures 3D information (whether a posture corresponds to a standing posture, a sitting posture, or a lying posture, a movement amount, and absence information) of a measurement target person using a TOF sensor. A management device aggregates the 3D information measured by the distance measuring device for each unit time, estimates a life rhythm (a ratio of each posture per unit period, a movement amount, an absence time, a bedtime, a wake time, and a home return time) of the measurement target person from a 3D data for each time, and accumulates the estimated life rhythm in a storage device. The management device provides information on the life rhythm of the measurement target person accumulated in the storage device to a measurement requester.

Abstract: This invention describes methods to compute coronary physiology indexes using a high precision registration model, which consists of acquiring coronary angiography images of coronary vessels, performing intravascular imaging, and registering the coronary angiography images with intravascular images to create a high precision registration model, based upon which the coronary flow, fractional flow reserve (FFR) and index of microcirculation resistance (IMR) can be computed. The methods described in this invention to compute coronary flow, FFR, IMR are based on both coronary angiography and intravascular images, and the accuracy is better than those derived from coronary angiography alone or intravascular imaging alone, and have high practical values.

Abstract: A sweat sensing device includes a plurality of sweat collection pads communicating with a sensor. Each of the pads is activated by a timing circuit which allows one or more of the pads to be activated at a selected time and subsequent deactivated after a defined period of time. This allows for selective collection of sweat from a plurality of pads over a prolonged period of time. An impedance measuring circuit can be employed to determine if one or more of the pads becomes disconnected, in order to avoid irritation. Further, the devices can use a common microfluidic device which both transports sweat activating substance, such as pilocarpine, to the surface of the skin and directs sweat away from the skin to a sensing device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a storage container to receive and store a biopsy sample of an organism, held by a biopsy sample collector. The storage container comprises a container body defining a containment region with an open or openable end. The storage container further comprises a container cap located at the open end. The container cap is able to be removed from the container body by displacement in a direction (herein after “removal direction”) away from said containment region. The cap includes a passage leading to the containment region the passage able to receive a sample retaining sample collector. The storage container additionally comprises a tamper evident sleeve about at least part of the cap and the container body. The sleeve comprises of two parts that are frangibly connected.

Abstract: A height-adjustable skin excision biopsy device consists of a hollow cylindrical handle, an outer hub, a flexible slider bar, an inner hub, an elliptical blade section, a height-adjusting mechanism, and a sliding mechanism. The flexible slider bar is terminally and perpendicularly connected to the inner hub. The hollow cylindrical handle is perpendicularly and terminally connected to the outer hub. The flexible slider bar is slidably positioned within the hollow cylindrical handle so that the inner hub is sleeved by the outer hub. In other words, the flexible slider bar can vertically move within the hollow cylindrical handle through the height-adjusting mechanism. Moreover, the inner hub can slide along the outer hub through the sliding mechanism. The elliptical blade section is connected to the inner hub opposite the flexible slider bar. Therefore, the position of the elliptical blade section can be controlled through the flexible slider bar.
