Abstract: An improved adaptive garment has a shoulder seam closure of (1) a first panel containing one or more magnetic fasteners or a magnetic strip of a positive or negative polarity, and (2) a second panel containing one or more magnetic fasteners or a magnetic strip of opposite polarity. The magnetic elements of the first and second panels are attracted and attach to each other, such that the second panel overlaps the first panel and closes the shoulder seam. This improved adaptive garment permits those with limited dexterity or mobility, youngsters, or those with disabilities and/or other health conditions get dressed more easily and quickly, with or without the assistance of others. This shoulder seam closure further permits the adaptive garment not to use a back seam closure of magnetic fasteners, thereby eliminating their pressure against the wearer's back and the discomfort, pain or irritation they might cause, and permitting to contain a back vent or pleat.

Abstract: A camouflage system and methods of making camouflage systems. The camouflage comprises a series of image layers that are sequenced and superimposed to create a repeatable composite image that reduces visibility to first set of sensors (e.g., an animal's eyes) while enhancing visibility to a second set of sensors (e.g., a human's eyes). The camouflage includes a base set of layers that may be used to mimic a macro-environment, a pattern layer, and a detail set of layers that may be used to mimic a microenvironment. The camouflage may be presented in various color schemes, with one suitable scheme being a range of colors centered around safety orange (Pantone 152) and a range of colors from grey to black.

Each of the bases is connected to a flexible tether that is adjustable in length and preferably forms an elastic loop. Each temple arm of an eyeglass is inserted through a different loop, with the slide lock tightened to securely connect the loop to the temple arm of the eyeglasses and connects each temple arm the bill of the hat, at a location below the bill. The elastic loops encircling the temple arms to maintain the eyeglasses at a desired location on the cap and accommodate differing eyeglasses.

Abstract: A hat has two flexible tethers each connected to a different temple arm of a pair of eyeglasses, with the tethers removably or permanently fastened to a bill of the hat. The two tethers are on opposing sides of the bill, with a first tether end of each tether preferably permanently connected a bottom side of the bill by stitching or a rivet. A second end of each tether has an opening sized to receive a temple arm passing therethrough during use and may have a slide lock to change the opening size to cinch the opening and second tether end tight against the temple arm. The stitching or rivet on the top of the bill may be covered by a top layer of material on the bill, or it may pass through that top layer of material. The rivet connection is useful with hard hats.

Abstract: The present invention provides a protective headgear having a multi-layered configuration to attenuate amplitude of shock waves to a human head by inducing a first destructive interference of incident shock waves through phase reversal at a boundary between two adjacent layers of an outer shell, and a second destructive interference of transmitted shock waves across an inner layer in a cut-pile configuration. Shock waves is attenuated further by reflectively diffusing the transmitted shock waves at the boundary between the two adjacent layers of the outer shell, by reducing focused constructive interference between two symmetrically opposite transmitted shock waves coming centripetally off through the outer shell of the protective headgear, and by limiting seepage of the shock waves into an inner space between the protective headgear and the human head through filtrative trapping of the shock waves across the inner liner in the cut-pile configuration.
