  • Patent number: 10307297
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods for a hydrogel wound covering membrane may include a backing layer and a release liner each having high pliability for permitting the membrane to be folded without pinching a sandwiched hydrogel layer thereby preventing its thinning in folded regions. In an illustrative embodiment, the hydrogel layer may annularly circumscribe a central wound region of the membrane. The thickness of the annulus may be selected to prevent water from penetrating the annulus for water exposures of a predetermined length of time. In some embodiments, a gauze may be affixed to a central portion of the membrane for gentle contact with a wound when the membrane is affixed to a wounded person. The membrane may advantageously maintain a substantially uniform hydrogel thickness when folded or rolled, so as to permit secure annular adhesion circumscribing a wound when unfolded or unrolled and applied.

  • Patent number: 10307335
Abstract: A container for collecting, transporting, storing, delivering and dispensing fluid. The container has a hollow tube with an outer circumference diameter and is configured to receive a plunger. A collection adaptor and a dispensing adaptor provide interchangeable coupling of a variable volume container such as a syringe with a collection device such as a breast pump and a dispensing device such as a nipple. The container also has a circumferential seal assembly secured at one end of the hollow tube. The seal assembly outer diameter is substantially similar to the hollow tube outer diameter.

  • Patent number: 10307336
Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a device for dispensing a mixture of a first composition (e.g., an anesthetic) and a second composition (e.g., a diluent buffer, a second drug, or a solution). The device comprises a plunger that slidably engages with the interior of the device barrel at a first end. The second end of the device barrel includes a flexible container configured to house one or more solutions (e.g., sodium carbonate). The flexible container comprises a membrane positioned adjacent to the interior of the barrel. The flexible container can be manipulated by the user, rupturing the membrane. In this way, the first and second solutions are intermixed within the interior of the barrel, and can be administered to a patient.

  • Patent number: 10307337
Abstract: An improved oral administration coupler for delivery of fluids such as medications and nutritional fluids. Example oral administration couplers have a first end with an applicator for oral delivery to an infant, and a second end with a coupling compatible with an enteral fluid delivery syringe. A fluid delivery conduit extends in fluid communication from the first end to the second end, to deliver fluid from the syringe to the infant. In some example embodiments, the coupler is configured for back-of-mouth delivery, and can comprise a generally elongate and at least partially flexible tube or straw.

  • Patent number: 10307340
Abstract: An occlusion clearing device for a patient has a housing with a motor(s) that generates repetitive motion, which is reciprocating, rotational or both. A clearing stem including a sheath that has a lumen, wherein aspiration is conducted through the sheath lumen. A wire is located in the sheath lumen and receives repetitive motion from the controller. The sheath terminates in a sheath end having at least one sheath opening. The wire terminates in a wire tip, which may be flat, helical, or tubular. The wire tip is positioned within the sheath end, in proximity to the sheath opening(s), and movement of the wire tip and/or sheath end relative to each other creates shearing forces that break up an adjacent occlusion.

  • Patent number: 10307342
Abstract: There is provided an oral biofilm inhibitor having an exceptional inhibitory effect on oral biofilm formation. It is an oral biofilm inhibitor comprising a curable composition containing an antimicrobial agent, wherein a compressive strength of a cured product formed by curing the composition is 150 MPa or less, and a content of the antimicrobial agent is 0.001 to 3% by weight. An oral biofilm inhibitor thus obtained is used for inhibiting biofilm formation in an oral cavity by applying a curable composition containing an antimicrobial agent to a dental defect site for allowing the composition to cure at the dental defect site, and then disintegrating the cured composition.
