Abstract: The present technology relates to a helmet of a layered and segmented design including impact attenuation structures. The helmet can include a series of layers that individually, or in combination, provide the necessary functions of the helmet. The helmet may feature a layer with a low coefficient of friction to act as a slip layer and slide due to rotational force. The present technology includes impact attenuation structures of predetermined geometries, layers, and materials to allow for an appropriate impact response with a certain degree of control over the buckling process and an adaptive impact response. The present technology of impact attenuation structures may be applicable where impact absorption and controlled buckling is desired, such as bike helmets.

Abstract: A helmet comprises an impact-absorbing shell, a band secured to the shell, and a resilient member. The band is secured to the shell at two securing locations such that an intermediate portion of the band between the two securing locations is in spaced relation to the shell. The resilient member is operatively positioned between the securing location and the impact-absorbing shell to facilitate resilient movement of the band relative to the impact-absorbing shell. The band comprises a brow assembly positioned at a front of the impact-absorbing shell and including a brow belt. The brow belt comprises a belt opening, and the resilient member is positioned in the belt opening. A portion of the belt defining the belt opening can be positioned in a groove in the resilient member. A fastener inserted through a fastener opening in the resilient member to secure the resilient member to the impact-absorbing shell.

Abstract: A unique attachment mechanism to connect a facemask to a helmet is described. This attachment mechanism uses a polymer urethane visco-elastic, or similar, material to absorb impact forces on the facemask to minimize injury for the person using the helmet. In some embodiments, a spring and bearing mechanism is used in conjunction with the polymer urethane visco-elastic material to further absorb forces. In another embodiment, a polymer urethane visco-elastic grommet on a screw is used for an upper attachment of the mask to the helmet, and a larger polymer urethane visco-elastic structure with an internal spring is used as the lower attachment between the helmet and the mask. In still another embodiment, the connection between the helmet and the mast is a U shaped structure with a flat spring enclosed.

Abstract: An electrically conductive shoe includes a shoe body having an upper, a midsole, and an outsole, and the outsole has a receiving chamber. The receiving chamber is communicated with a bore of the midsole. A conductive device is mounted on a bottom of the outsole. A flexible conductive member has an end electrically connected to the conductive device and an opposite end extending to an inner space of the upper through the receiving chamber of the outsole and the bore of the midsole and attached to an inner side of the upper.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of producing the composite comprising: a) melt blending the matrix with the fibers to produce a melted composite, b) injecting the melted composite into a mold and allowing the melted composite to solidify and, c) removing at least a portion of the outermost layer of a composite such that the fibers protrude from the surface of the composite. Also provided is composite produced by the methods of the invention comprising soft and hard fibers embedded in a soft rubber-like matrix, wherein the fibers protrude from the composite's surface. In specific embodiments, the composite comprises carbon fibers and poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole) (PBO) fibers in a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) matrix, wherein the fibers protrude from the composite's surface. Slip-resistant product comprising the composite are also provided.

Abstract: Upper components for footwear include: (a) a first layer including a first filament including first plural, non-intersecting, spaced apart path segments (wherein the first filament may have a width dimension of less than 3 mm wide); and (b) a second layer including a second filament including second plural, non-intersecting, spaced apart path segments (wherein the second filament may have a width dimension of less than 3 mm), wherein the second layer is fused to the first layer at locations where the layers contact one another. Additional layers of material, including additional layers with filament, may be included in the upper. The filament material in the different layers may be the same or different from one another (e.g., a thermoplastic material, a thermoplastic polyurethane material, a hydrophobic material, a water-repelling material, a non-water absorbing material, etc.). One or more layers each may be formed as a continuous extruded path of filament.

Abstract: The present disclosure illustrates a manufacturing method of a vamp with an embossed pattern comprising: (1) providing a plain cloth. (2) heating the plain cloth by an oven to soften the plain cloth. (3) cooling the plain cloth and forming an embossed pattern on the plain cloth by a cold pressing roller, and the cold pressing roller provided with a predetermined pattern. (4) forming an embossed layer with the embossed pattern on the plain cloth. Because of the cold pressing roller, a depth of the cooled embossed layer is the same as a depth of the predetermined pattern. Hence, the embossed pattern can maintain its appearance.

Abstract: Presses are usable to press bond footwear in press chambers lined with an elastic press membrane shaped like the footwear. The press chamber can be held at negative, neutral, and positive pressure, causing the press membrane may to seat evenly to either the press chamber walls or against the footwear for bonding. When at neutral pressure, the press membrane follows the interior contours of the press chamber but is separated from the same, partially compressing the footwear fitted inside. In this way an operator must easily negotiate the footwear into the membrane through an opening in the same but cannot simply throw the footwear into the membrane. The various pressures may be achieved with a pressure source feeding in to the press chambers and may be cycled between an open, vacuum configuration for insertion, neutral holding position, and closed compressed configuration for bonding.

Abstract: Passenger safety belt buckles are disclosed. In embodiments, a safety belt buckle includes a base member and a release member coupled to the base member. The release member is configured to release a tongue held between the release member and the base member when the release member is pulled away from the base member. In an example embodiment, the release member is formed by a plurality of printed device layers and a metal coating disposed over the plurality of printed device layers. In another example embodiment, the release member is formed by a plurality of printed metal layers. In yet another example embodiment, the release member includes a recess with an in-mold feature disposed within the recess.

The plastic body includes a mobile phone accommodating portion configured to contain the mobile phone, an outer surface and a retaining wall. The outer surface is disposed on an opposite side of the mobile phone accommodating portion, and the retaining wall is located on the outer surface. The leather interlayer includes a card insertion portion. The leather interlayer is attached to the outer surface, and the retaining wall surrounds the leather interlayer. By means of the structural design of the present invention, the manpower and time required for production can be reduced, and the yield can be increased, thereby reducing the production costs. In addition, the retaining wall can protect an edge of the leather interlayer from being worn easily.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a folding table and is intended to improve the ease of use of the table by enabling the folding and unfolding operation of the support legs to be performed more quickly and easily. Abstract: A storage compartment is formed from a blank made of sheet metal and comprises a base part and edge regions surrounding the base part, which edge regions are bent upwards by about 90° with respect to the base part. The upwardly bent edge regions are equipped with receiving and holding means, in each of which a plate-shaped element is insertable and is held. One each of a first edge region and a second edge region form a first side surface and a second side surface. The first side surface serves as a supporting surface for the plate-shaped element. The second side surface covers the frontal surface of the plate-shaped element. Furthermore, a projecting element is provided in the second side surface. The plate-shaped element is held between the supporting surface and the projecting element.

Abstract: An example apparatus includes a bracket having a rack attachment member and a guard attachment member, and upper and lower engagement tabs that are coupled to the rack attachment member and have a stem portion and a head portion. The rack attachment member has a lock pin hole above the lower rack engagement tab. The lock pin hole is sized and positioned to provide sufficient cross-sectional area within a rack engagement distance to allow passage of a bracket lock pin therethrough within the rack engagement distance. The apparatus further includes a bracket lock pin having a stabilizing leg coupled to a lock pin head, where the stabilizing leg fits through the lock pin hole and the lock pin head does not. The stabilizing leg urges the lock pin head toward the lock pin hole when the stabilizing leg is passed through the lock pin hole.
