Publication number: 20200132522Abstract: A portable metrology stand is disclosed that has three primary legs, which are rigidly, rotatably attached to a base support, which prevents the leg tubes from rotating outwardly beyond a defined angle by adjustable hard stops associated with the base support. The base support is itself supported by a center column disposed between the three legs. The legs are rigidly displaced from the center column by struts. A tensioning nut is threaded onto a bottom end of a clamping collar which is pulled up against an adjustable snap-ring in a snap-ring groove in the center column. Tightening the tensioning nut onto the clamping collar draws the clamping collar down into the tensioning nut thereby forcing outwardly the struts and forcing the legs against the adjustable hard stops.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2019Publication date: April 30, 2020Inventors: Eric S. Publication number: 20200132554Abstract: The disclosure is directed to techniques for a thermostat to determine the air temperature of a room based on measurements of temperatures sensors located inside a housing of the thermostat. Because the thermostat for an evaporative cooler operates at line voltage and controls current flowing to the evaporative cooler, the magnitude of current flowing through the thermostat may vary from nearly zero, when the thermostat is in the powered-off state, to a current on the order of several amps. The variation in current causes a variation in temperature inside the housing of the thermostat. Publication number: 20200132562Abstract: A three-dimensional grip detection sensor is provided that includes an outer wall. When a first region in the outer wall receives pressing operation, it undergoes first deformation recessed inward from the outer wall, and a second region undergoes second deformation opposite to first deformation and that projects outward from the outer wall. The three-dimensional grip detection sensor further includes a three-dimensional object that receives pressing operation, with a first sensor disposed on an outer wall and a second sensor disposed at a position asymmetric to the first sensor. Each of the first and second sensors includes a piezoelectric film deformed by the pressing operation, first and second electrodes on a first main surface of the piezoelectric film and disposed in parallel with the first electrode, and a reference electrode on a second main surface of the piezoelectric film.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2019Publication date: April 30, 2020Inventors: Kazuaki Minami, Shiori Nagamori

Publication number: 20200132565Abstract: Systems and methods described herein allow for reliable and computationally efficient detection of fluid leak events or abnormal fluid usage/flow events. A fluid flow meter can measure fluid flow parameter values during a training phase. The fluid flow meter can generate, using the fluid flow parameter data, a training fluid flow duration pattern indicative of, for each value range of a plurality of value ranges of a respective time threshold value. The time threshold value can represent an estimate of a maximum fluid flow duration, within a given fluid flow event, for fluid flow associated with the corresponding value range. During a detection phase, the fluid flow meter can determine, for a value range, a respective fluid flow duration within a current fluid flow event. The fluid flow meter can detect a leak event upon the fluid flow duration exceeds the time threshold value for the same value range.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2019Publication date: April 30, 2020Applicant: Reliance Worldwide CorporationInventors: Ian Kent, Brian Gestner
