Abstract: An auxiliary heater with a casing enclosing internal components which components include a heat exchanger separate from and outside the coolant tank and wherein two coolant loops each have their own coolant pumps and wherein a potable water loop exchanges heat with coolant within the heat exchanger. A control circuit provides enhanced coolant flow through the heat exchanger when the call for hot water is significant without significantly reducing the temperature of the hot water being used. A level switch within the coolant tank prevents coolant pumps from running without pump coolant and a filling and air purging operation improves the initial filling operation of the auxiliary heater with coolant and also prevents the coolant pump from running dry. A user switch may dedicate the hot coolant from the coolant tank to either the production of hot potable water or it may share both hot water and space heating.

Abstract: The concepts described herein provide a system and associated charging connector that is capable of offloading electric power stored in a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) of an electrified vehicle to supply electric power to a stationary system, e.g., a residential dwelling or a business site, upon occurrence of a power outage in an electric power grid that supplies electric power to the stationary system. This includes the charging connector being capable of offloading electric power under conditions in which the RESS of the electrified vehicle is initially disconnected from the charging connector when the power outage occurs. This concept enables an electrified vehicle to supply electric power to a stationary system when connecting after a delay period subsequent to the power outage.

Abstract: A charge handle, according to some examples, for electrically charging an electric vehicle comprises a housing and a movable core with fluid, electrical, and data connectors that engage with a charge port on the vehicle. A drive mechanism moves the core between disengaged and engaged positions relative to the housing to extend or retract the connectors. A latching mechanism secures the housing to the vehicle when engaged and releases the handle when disengaged. The fluid connectors provide cooling fluid circulation, the electrical connectors deliver charging current, and the data connector enables communication. The sequenced engagement and disengagement of the connectors by the drive mechanism ensures safe connection under load. The latching mechanism allows self-contained engagement forces without pushing on vehicle body components.
