The pedicure cart also is configured to support a technician and positions the client's feet at an elevated position within easy reach of the technician to aid the technician in providing a pedicure.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods, among other things, for a hair styling tool that can assist in providing an enhanced volume effect to a subject's hair are discussed in this application. In an example, a styling tool can include a substrate, and textured styling material attached to the substrate. The textured styling material can be configured to interact with the subject's hair and can include plurality of surface features configured to capture a plurality of hair strands and to intermittently release one or more hair strands of the plurality of hair strands as the textured styling material is moved away from the subject's scalp.

Abstract: A novel gauging device and associated stencils for shaping of eyebrows according to a Golden Ratio standard. The gauging device is adapted to be placed over a woman's face and maintained in a fixed position relative to her eyes and nose. A nosepiece and knobs are adjusted such that a lower end of a guide rod may be rotated about various points relative to the nose and held in predetermined angles relative to the nose and eyes, possibly supported magnetically on a lower track adjacent the nostrils and an upper track above the eyebrows. Each stencil may be adapted to accommodate not only different eyebrows of different sizes, but also to adjust the eyebrow's ideal Golden Ratio “High Point” to complement facial proportions (preferably represented by a single Facial Ratio Value or “FRV”) that deviate from an ideal Golden Ratio.

Abstract: A haircut method is provided that allows an amount of hair to be adjusted while the hair is cut, and prevents damage of the head hair. A haircut method of the present invention includes: dividing head hair into a bang section that covers a front of a head, a side section that covers a side of the head, and a back section that covers a back of the head; dividing, in each section, the head hair into at least two blocks from an upper side of the head toward a lower side of the head; and taking, as a lock of hair, an amount of hair that can be cut in one operation in each block, and cutting the head hair.

Abstract: A pressure-activated lotion applicator apparatus and related method for applying lotion to a portion of a user's body, comprising: a refillable lotion reservoir; an air chamber; a flexible, barrier separating the reservoir from the air chamber; and one or more holes for passing the lotion from the reservoir to the portion of the user's body; configured such that pressure between the applicator and the portion of the user's body causes the lotion to pass out of the applicator through the holes and be applied to the portion of the user's body, and further configured such that when a given volume of lotion passes out of the reservoir onto the portion of the user's body, a substantially equivalent volume of air enters the air chamber, and the barrier displaces so as to substantially equivalently increase the air chamber volume and decrease the lotion reservoir volume.

Abstract: Nail polish remover strips are pre-sized for toe or fingernails and applied to a painted or artificial nail and left thereon for a predetermined period of time to dissolve the nail polish and/or nail bonding agent. Preferably a color change occurs to depict the appropriate dwelling time to dissolve the nail polish. Certain embodiments include odor reducing components. Preferably the strips are layered composites having an exterior odor impervious material, a layer of encapsulated acetone or nail polish removing agent, an absorbent layer, and a peelable backing, with the strips being curved to accommodate contact with a person's nail.

Abstract: A cosmetic method for temporary modification of an appearance of a contour of an eye is disclosed. The cosmetic method comprises placing an aesthetic prosthesis at least on a hollow portion of an upper eyelid. The hollow portion is situated close to a medial canthus. The placing includes visually and/or physically filling at least a portion of the hollow portion with at least a first portion of the aesthetic prosthesis. An aesthetic filler prosthesis and a kit for an aesthetic filler prosthesis are also disclosed.

Abstract: A hair band comprises a stretchable body and a center hole. The center hole increases in diameter when the hair band is moved from a rest position to a stretched position. A distance between an outer edge of the body and an outer edge of the center hole is greater than the center hole diameter when the hair band is in a rest position. The distance between the outer edge of the center hole and the outer edge of the body decreases and the inner diameter increases as the hair band is stretched. In some embodiments, the body is hollow and filled with one or more of a gel substance, a granular solid, and a viscous liquid. In some embodiments, the hair band is manufactured by one or more of an extrusion molding process and an injection molding process.

A first opening reducing device enables the expansion and contraction of a size of a perimeter of the first opening and a second opening reducing device enables closing of the second opening. The inside surface of the bag is a pliable material and the outside surface of the bag is a pliable water-resistant material, the pliable water-resistant material extending over the perimeter of the first opening on the inside surface of the bag.

Abstract: This invention comprises apparatus for assisting in the application of eyeliner. A handle connects to a shaped member, such as a metal rod, which comprises a guide portion for abutting against a user's eyelid. Users may apply eyeliner by drawing an eyeliner applicator along a side of the guide portion. The guide portion may optionally end in a wing, allowing users to draw eyeliner “wings”. A nose bridge may be situated between the guide portion and the handle, allowing the apparatus to be positioned across a user's nose. The handle may comprise a smudger with which a user may smudge eyeliner after it has been applied.

Abstract: The present invention is related to surfactant-based formulations comprising the polyelectrolytes and blends of such polyelectrolytes with non-cellulosic cationic polysaccharide polymers wherein the surfactant is a phosphate ester. The surfactant-based formulations exhibit improved clarity of the resulting formulations, their improved conditioning of keratin substrates, textile substrates, and hard-surface substrates, their improved deposition of dispersed phase materials onto keratin substrates, textile substrates, and hard-surface substrates, their improved lather performance, and their improved rheology in applications such as personal care and household care products and textile applications.

Abstract: A method for affixing a plurality of extension hair strands to a plurality of natural hair strands using the action of allowing a natural wax material to seep or flow and purge moisture on its own merit as opposed to being compressed or pressed, rolled or molded by hand. A releasable fusing takes place which holds the extension hair to the natural hair for an extended period of time or until removed by hand by breaking back and forth for a few seconds without the use of chemicals or pliers and without damage, pulling, or tearing of the natural hair.

Abstract: A French braiding template for forming a French braid is disclosed. The template includes a body having a slightly curved upper portion to match the profile of a user's head. The upper portion has a plurality of teeth to help hold the template in place during use. Side portions include a plurality of notches and teeth. The notches indicate the proper location for the placement of hair strands during use while the side teeth help hold hair in place.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are disclosed of disposable beauty tools for use after applying mascara. In an exemplary embodiment, a disposable beauty tool generally includes cotton (or other suitable material) at one end portion and a mascara comb at the other end portion. Also disclosed are exemplary embodiments of methods for using a disposable beauty tool. In an exemplary embodiment, a method generally includes using a first end portion of a disposable beauty tool to wipe away mascara smudges. The method may also include using a second end portion of the disposable beauty tool to comb and/or separate eyelashes and remove clumps of mascara.

The cured composition exhibits good durability and yet can be readily and cleanly removed when desired by soaking briefly in acetone.

Abstract: A dental hygiene threading tool used to insert floss between teeth of a user who has permanent oral implants. Traditional flossing for individuals with oral implants and the methods of flossing between implants and the gum line presently available are time consuming and difficult, due to the lack of the space between the two structures. The disclosed device comprises a hollow tube used to guide a floss threading line or pull through guide into these tight spaces. The tube is then removed once the threading line has been inserted. A user feeds a strand of dental floss through the threading line loop and pulls the threading line with the dental floss through the space. Once the dental floss has been fed through the teeth, the flossing procedure may commence. The device dramatically reduces time and effort required to thread floss between teeth and oral implants.

Abstract: Lip balm strip is a sheet of material that conveniently dispenses lip balm. A section of the lip balm strip is not covered in lip balm which provides a clean surface for the user to hold on to. The balm covered side of the strip is placed in the mouth. The user then presses their lips down and slides the strip through their lips to apply the lip balm. There is a smooth edge on this side of the strip provided to prevent injury to the mouth. The lip balm strip is individually wrapped to preserve the strip for re-use. Other variations and features are described.
