Abstract: Human lip exfoliation is provided using a device to apply flowable exfoliant material to the user's lips, and then effecting powered vibration of a tip of the same device to gently exfoliate the user's lips. The device can include an exfoliator unit and a lip gloss unit, with a magnetic coupling between the units to hold them together until positively separated, yet movement of the lip gloss unit will not result in discharge of exfoliant. The exfoliator unit has a silicone applicator tip with a number of integral silicone bristles for contact with a user's lips. The tip is connected by a passage to a chamber containing exfoliant, and a check valve can be provided between the passage and chamber.

Abstract: A hair cutting device and method for facilitating and enhancing the ability to cut hair. The hair cutting device comprises a first elongated guide member that includes a first surface. The first surface includes a gravity field orientation sensor, to sense angular orientation. The first elongated guide member includes a first end and a second end. The hair cutting device includes a second elongated guide member that includes a first end configured to selectably couple to the first end of the first elongated guide member. The second elongated guide member includes a second end configured to pivotally couple to the second end of the first elongated guide member. The second elongated guide member includes a plate member selectably coupleable between the first and second elongated guide members. The gravity field orientation sensor is rotatably coupled to an exterior surface of the first elongated guide member, and rotates 360 degrees.

Abstract: A Personal Care Vaporizer Device for Hands. The device has a main housing that is defined by a large aperture formed in its side. The side aperture provides access to an internal treatment chamber. The user can insert one or both hands into the chamber through the side aperture in order to provide therapeutic treatment for the skin of the hands. The device has a removable fluid reservoir that seats into the main housing. Fluid from the reservoir is ported to an internal cool mist vaporizor such as a transducer or other misting apparatus. Once vaporized, the mist is driven down a mist conduit by user-adjustable airflow. As the mist passes down the mist conduit, it passes a heating element that allows the user to selectively deliver heated or cool vapor into the treatment chamber. The user is able to utilize water and/or fluid having additives such as extracts, additives, therapeutic medications and essential oils as the raw material for formation of the mist.

Abstract: A washing device [1000] is described which is uniquely adapted for use by elderly, handicapped, or other users which use one hand for support and have only one hand free to operate the device. The supply line [1010] directs the fluid to a fluid valve [1210] which is controlled by a first clicking mechanism 1231 which toggles the valve between an “open” position directing fluid flow to an additive valve [1240], and a “closed” position which stops fluid flow. Additive valve [1240] is also toggled between two positions by a second clicking mechanism [1232]. In its ‘fluid only’ position, only fluid is allowed to pass out of the additive valve [1240] through a mixing chamber [1400] and out of a changeable head [1700] to the user. In another embodiment, a single three-position valve performs the same functions.

Abstract: A novel gauging device and associated stencils facilitate the shaping of eyebrows according to a Golden Ratio standard. The gauging device is adapted to be placed over a woman's face and maintained in a fixed position relative to her eyes and nose. A nosepiece and knobs are adjusted such that a lower end of a guide rod may be rotated about various points relative to the nose and held in predetermined angles relative to the nose and eyes, possibly supported magnetically on a lower track adjacent the nostrils and an upper track above the eyebrows. An eyebrow stencil is held in a desired position relative to the previously positioned guide rod, which facilitates convenient application and symmetrical shaping, preferably with frictional clamps for permitting the stencil to be shifted in place so that a particular portion of the stencil is properly aligned with the guide rod after the guide rod has been aligned with an appropriate Golden Ratio marking on the stencil.

Abstract: A cosmetic device for naturally toning the facial and the upper neck muscles of a user. The device includes a pair of adhesive pads for adhering to the user's facial skin, a pair of supporting earpieces connected to the adhesive pads, and a strap connecting the pair of earpieces. The length of the strap is to be adjusted until a desired tension is placed on the pads. The tension causes the pads to stretch the skin and thereby tone the facial and upper neck muscles naturally over a period of time for creating a more youthful look.

Abstract: A flossing device cleans inside a mouth and essentially uses a water jet rather like a string of dental floss, to accomplish removal of particles between teeth. The device includes a mouthpiece that fits over the teeth. Advantageously no suction pump, nor power source, is included or needed in the device, which can be attached to a standard faucet. The device receives water from a standard faucet, which water exits the device from multiple holes in the mouthpiece.

Abstract: A method for delivering toothpaste to a user includes providing a toothpaste droplet having a dissolvable outer membrane defining a volume with toothpaste inside the volume, where the outer membrane includes a body portion configured to anchor to bristles of a toothbrush, where the outer membrane is formed from dissolvable film strip technology and a plurality of extensions on the outer surface of the body section of the outer membrane, placing the droplet onto the bristles of the toothbrush, releasing the toothpaste from the outer membrane into the bristles of the toothbrush, and cleaning the teeth with the toothpaste. In one aspect of this embodiment, the plurality of extensions forms irregularities on the outer surface of the body section of the outer membrane.

Abstract: A nit picking device and method for mechanically stripping nits, eggs, and lice from human hair. The device includes a pair of cooperating tongs each of which is elongated and joined at one end to the juxtaposed end portion of the cooperating tong. The opposite ends of the tong serve to carry an abrasive pad capable of stripping nits from nit laden human hair shafts. As the pads are moved along the length of the hair, the nits are removed from the shafts and in one embodiment captured at least in part in the pads carried by tongs.

Placing fingers through the holes in the holder allows a user to securely hold tool using four fingers. The apparatus can also be configured with three finger holes and a finger rest for end finger.

Abstract: Methods for disguising dermatological blemishes are provided. The method includes providing a package containing at least a viscous silicone material and a catalyst. The silicone material or the catalyst is preferably tinted with a cosmetic pigment. The package may also include one or more dispensers, such as double-barrel syringes. The syringes hold the viscous silicone material and the catalyst, separately. The package may also have mixing tips through which the silicone material and the catalyst may be dispensed, whereupon the silicone material and the catalyst are mixed and applied to a user's skin for curing. The method includes applying the silicone mixture on a dermatological area of interest, applying one of the at least one skin texturing pad to the silicone mixture before the silicone mixture cures to create texture to the silicone material, and allowing the silicone material to cure on a skin surface of the human user.

Abstract: Compositions for a foaming oral cleaner and related methods and products are disclosed. In one such method, a foaming oral cleaner may be dispensed onto a cleaning surface of a tongue cleaning device in a manner to foam the foaming oral cleaner. A surface of the tongue may be brushed using a tongue brush of the tongue cleaning device, thereby applying the foaming oral cleaner to the surface of the tongue. The brushing of the surface of the tongue can dislodge and loosen material on the surface of the tongue. The surface of the tongue can be scraped using a tongue scraper of the tongue cleaning device to scrape dislodged and loosened material from the surface of the tongue. The foaming oral cleaner may be a composition comprising water, a foaming agent, a sweetener, a flavoring agent, an antimicrobial agent comprising a biologically active enzyme, a preservative, and a coloring agent.

The hair styling tool having the movable member which engages and disengages the hair with the bristles minimizes tangling of the hair while brushing. The hair styling tool may be a rotating brush optionally equipped with a motor.

The toothpick member is connected to the handle by first and second bridge members. In a first instance, the bridge members are broken to detach the toothpick member. In a second instance, the bridge members are twisted to pivot the toothpick member from a non-use position to a use position where it is disposed at an angle relative to the body. The toothpick member is pivoted by engaging a terminal end thereof with an index finger of the hand in which the body is held. The angle of the toothpick member relative to the body is adjusted using the index finger to permit picking of the teeth in any region of the user's mouth without changing hands.

The grit layer comprises grit in a range of 300-800 grit for rounding the sharp edges on the ends of trimmed hair. Thus, a double sided, disc-shaped disposable unit is provided. In another embodiment, the invention further includes a handle assembly that is securely attachable to the pliable substrate. The pliable substrate attaches to complementary fastening material on the end of the handle assembly.

Abstract: A finger shield combination and method for using the same for improved dental hygiene during the flossing of teeth. First and second finger shields have tubular sheaths for receiving first and second fingers. Adhesive tabs can be adhered partially to the tubular sheaths and partially to the fingers of the user to constrict the tubular sheaths and retain the finger shields. The adhesive tabs can be angled proximally past the proximal ends of the finger shields and can separably couple the first and second finger shields. The first finger shield can be applied to a forefinger, the second finger shield can be applied to a thumb, and a third finger shield can be applied to the middle finger. At least one stave disposed longitudinally along the tubular sheath of one of the finger shields can prevent constriction by the dental floss.

Abstract: A method of applying a UV gel manicure to a fingernail and a method for achieving a UV gel fingernail extension. First a nail appliqué made of dry nail enamel is applied to a fingernail. A UV gel is then applied with a brush on top of nail appliqué and is cured using a UV lamp. The result is a UV manicure that applied faster than a conventional UV manicure and it is healthier for a nail. UV nail extensions are achieved by applying an appliqué which overhangs from a fingernail and applying and curing UV gel on top of the appliqué.
