A kit of parts for carrying out the method comprises a plurality of hollow open-ended shields (21) and instructions for carrying out the method.

The composition is dispersible while dry, with or without assistance from heat.

Abstract: A system for carrying out a pedicure wherein a conventional pedicure is closely simulated while protecting the foot from microbial infection and harsh chemicals. The foot is encased in a waterproof sock containing appropriate liquid conditioners for softening the skin. The encased foot is placed in a warm, recirculating water bath for a period of time. The foot is then removed from the bath, the sock is removed from the foot and discarded, and a conventional pedicure trimming process is carried out. The skin of the foot is thus protected from any contact with the water bath, while the soothing, stimulative, and otherwise pleasurable effects of the recirculating warm water are provided as in a conventional pedicure process.

The surfactant-based formulations exhibit improved clarity of the resulting formulations, their improved conditioning of keratin substrates, textile substrates, and hard-surface substrates, their improved deposition of dispersed phase materials onto keratin substrates, textile substrates, and hard-surface substrates, their improved lather performance, and their improved rheology in applications such as personal care and household care products and textile applications.

Abstract: A facial make-up application machine is provided, which includes a base, a robot, a cosmetics provider, and a control device. The control device can control the robot to move the cosmetics provider to a make-up application position in order to spray or apply cosmetic materials to a contour corresponding to a human face. Thus, the invention can provide an automatic make-up application for variously and accurately carrying out the makeup-application on faces selected or emulated by one or more users. A specific facial image in the invention can be built-in or provided by an external storage device or image recognition device. The storage device can pre-store a plurality of makeup-application profiles as an option. A facial make-up application method using the same is also provided.

Said device comprises a tightening member (4, 34) for pushing in the skin under the device at a distance from the circumference of the shape-determining member, whereby the skin is pushed in deeper underneath the tightening-member than underneath the circumference of the shape-determining member. The presence of the tightening member reduces the pressure on the skin at the circumference, owing to which a fold is prevented or is less deep and the slope is less steep. This enables a razor to come closer to the circumference of the template, which makes the contour sharper.

The parting of hair is accomplished with a single passage of the parting device along the roots of the hair and scalp without requiring a second parting that is customary with conventional combs. The segregated hair is engaged to conventional hair rollers included with the hair curling kit in order to curl hair for a myriad of hairstyles. The parting devices can alternatively include integral elements that facilitate the combing and/or picking of hair with a single implement.

The hinge mechanism includes a housing and a spring concealed within the housing in normal use of the hair clip. In typical commercial embodiments, the housing is integrally formed with a first one of the body members in a one-step process. The housing defines an inner-end access opening through which the spring is inserted during the manufacturing process. The access opening is closed off by a second one of the body members when the hair clip is assembled for use. The hair clip may be manufactured with the housing initially fabricated on the first body member in a one-piece construction.

Abstract: A hand-washing system for washing fingernail beds and cuticular regions of human fingers and thumbs (collectively “digits”). The hand-washing system includes a work enclosure for containing ones of the digits and a high-velocity, high-flow water spray during a washing operation. The work enclosure defines an interior space, part of which defines an energy-dissipation region that, during use, provides a water reservoir for dissipating energy in the high-velocity, high flow water spray. The work enclosure includes a high-energy spray nozzle and a digit portal sized to receive the four fingers of one hand simultaneously in closed-fingered, upwardly-curled configuration. A mixing valve may be provided to allow a user to adjust the temperature of the water during washing. A quick-disconnect fluid-coupling assembly may also be provided and be used to quickly select between work enclosures of differing size.

It also generates makeup information for two-dimensionally correcting the lips of a subject based on preset reference by setting a plurality of points for determining the form features of lips on an image that depicts the lips, and judges the form features of the lips of the subject based on analytical values of the two-dimensional features of the lips measured from the set points.

In a method of use, a first liquid hardenable coating material is applied to one of the regions, and a second liquid hardenable material to a second of the regions, such that the first material and the second material are separated and delineated by the upstanding feature. The nail is then abraded to a desired appearance such as of a French manicure.

Abstract: An applicator applies mascara to a user's eyelashes with a single push of a lever. The applicator has a housing with a front panel having an inwardly contoured surface. Within the contoured surface is an eyelash engagement opening which has a curvature generally conforming to the curvature of the contoured surface. A brush is contained within the housing, where the brush normally resides within a mascara reservoir. The brush has a plurality of radially extending bristles protruding from a shaft. The shaft has a curvature which generally conforms to the curvature of the opening in the housing in which the user inserts the user's eyelashes. Activation means, such as a combination of an extension member and an activation lever, are utilized for selectively moving the brush from a first position disposed within the mascara reservoir to a second position where the bristles of the brush are adjacent to the eyelash engagement opening.

Abstract: A hair device comprising a cone shaped form with a defined narrow neck near the top that curves in where an elastic band can be wrapped around to secure the hair in place. The hair conceals the device from all angles of the head and gives the impression of the hair standing on end without styling products. There are various decorative attachments that can be attached at the opening in the top or stuck into the holes on the body of the device to pin up loose hair and/or add styling flair.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an artificial nail composition which can improve adhesion between a natural nail and an artificial nail, and also can suppress exfoliation or detachment. The artificial nail composition comprises: (a) a compound having at least one radical polymerizable unsaturated double bond in the molecule, (b) an acidic phosphorus compound having at least one radical polymerizable unsaturated double bond in the molecule, and (c) a radical polymerization initiator.

Abstract: A system and method for the application of a skin care product including a special applicator termed a fingerlette, a spatulette and a palette. The spatulette is used to transfer a skin care product from a its native container to the palette which is then dapped or patted by the fingerlette which transfers some of the product to the adsorbent surface of the fingerlette which is then applied to the skin for even application. Because all product is transferred to the skin, the system is especially advantageous for conservation of costly skin care preparations.

Abstract: A hair removal apparatus and method is presented. The hair removal apparatus can have a pair of tension units and at least one hair removal line. In one aspect, each of the tension units can have a first arm and a second arm that is moveable in relation to the first arm such that the distance between the distal ends of the two arms can be changed with respect to one another. In one aspect of the hair removal method, the line is configured to form an “X,” with the center of the “X” being the twist point. The hair is removed by moving the twist point past the target hair, catching the target hair in a portion of the twist point, removing it from the skin.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed involving cosmetics brushes and face charts for strategic application of make-up. In particular, embodiments of the invention involve cosmetics brushes having markings color-coded to match make-up types, locations, and application steps within a sequence, as depicted on a corresponding face chart for the strategic application of make-up to achieve a desired look, using, for example, a code key to explain the face chart. Each desired look may have a specific face chart that uses color-coded markings to match a brush with a make-up type, location, and step, for a given purpose. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Presented is a hair restraint which is placed on a user's ponytail to assist in keeping the ponytail tangle free during sleep. The device includes a drawstring, a drawstring lock, and may be utilized with a headband which gathers the hair and holds it into a ponytail while the device is attached. The ponytail can be formed in the back of the users head or more towards the top of the user's head to provide less of an obstruction while the user is sleeping.

Abstract: A training toothbrush for children comprising a body portion that includes a head portion, a handle, and a brush assembly that is configured to engage with and pivot upon the body portion. A caming mechanism, such as an oblique or curvilinear channel that receives a tracking element, is disposed between the brush assembly and the body portion and configured such that when the operator grasps the handle and attempts to brush the teeth in a longitudinal back and forth motion, the relative longitudinal movement between the handle and the brush assembly causes the caming mechanism to translate the longitudinal motion to the brush head, which then pivots vertically against the teeth in a more preferred motion for allowing the bristles to clean between teeth. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a locking mechanism that releasably engages the brush head to prevent it from pivoting vertically so that it operates much like a standard toothbrush.

The handle is preferably configured with a first handle end comprising a first fastening connection and with a grip section. The stamp has a skin-facing front surface configured with the desired eyebrow design. The front surface is configured to contact the cosmetic coloring composition and to retain enough of the composition to imprint the desired eyebrow design onto the eyebrow area. A second fastening connection on the rear base of the stamp is configured to connect the stamp to the handle via the first fastening connection, either permanently or removably.

Abstract: A hair colouring tool which includes a body which has an opening and interior walls that define an interior cavity for containing a fluid hair colourant. At least one dispensing structure is provided on the body which is in fluid communication with the interior cavity. A plunger is pivotally connected to the body. The plunger is removably positioned in the opening of the interior cavity and is in sealing engagement with the interior walls of the interior cavity such that upon manual depression of the plunger, fluid hair colourant is forced from the interior cavity through the dispensing structure. Abstract: A foaming porous pad suitable for coupling to a hand-held device and for application to human skin includes a porous pad substrate and a foaming composition disposed on the porous pad substrate. The porous pad substrate includes a nonwoven pile fabric having a nonwoven backing layer and a pile comprising individual fibers extending from the backing layer. The nonwoven pile fabric has fibers having a denier of less than about 9. Other aspects of the disclosure include a kit including a foaming porous pad and a motorized handheld device, methods of making the foaming porous pad, and methods of using the foaming porous pad.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method for treating eyelashes. The method may include applying the bonding agent directly, via one or more applicators, to the one or more eyelashes and sculpting the bonding agent along a length of the one or more eyelashes to coat and shape the one or more eyelashes.
