Abstract: A phone case includes a back and sides extending downward from the back, such that the sides and the back define a phone-receiving recess configured to receive and secure a phone therein. The phone case further includes a finger-hold attached to the back and having a top member and a bottom member. The finger-hold is movable between an extended position in which an opening is defined between the top member and the bottom member for use in gripping the phone case and a collapsed position in which the top member is substantially flat against the bottom member. The finger-hold can be biased to the extended position. The finger-hold can be rotatably attached to the back.

Abstract: A hair barrette is provided. The hair barrette has a decorative member defining an outwardly facing surface and an inwardly facing surface, and a closure device. The closure device includes a lever and first and second seat members arranged at opposite ends of the decorative member. One end of the lever is hingedly connected to the second seat member at which the lever is pivotably movably with respect to the decorative member. The closure device is provided with a bridge member raised from the inwardly facing surface of the decorative member and connecting the first and second seat members. The first and second seat members and the lever are made of a first plastic(s) material and the bridge member is made from a more flexible second plastic(s) material. The bridge member is made of polymeric material, has a hardness of Shore D30-70, and is extendible in length to 150-300%.

The clip main body includes a hair-sectioning piece to be inserted into hair for gathering a bundle of hair; and a hair-holding piece joined to and cooperating with the hair-sectioning piece for providing a hair-holding space, and movable relative to the hair-sectioning pieces in response to an external force for enlarging the hair-holding space and creating an open mouth from which the bundle of hair enters the hair-holding space. A specified clearance is provided between the hair-sectioning piece and the hair-holding piece for accommodating a plurality of hair-retaining teeth in the hair-holding space. The hair clip further includes an adaptive hair-retaining arm joined to the clip main body and deformable to an extent varying with a volume of the bundle of hair to at least partially cover the open mouth for retaining the bundle of hair in the hair-holding space.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a hair clip with a flexible arm. The hair clip is adapted to fasten around a portion of the user's hair. The flexible arm is adapted to bend around a section of the user's hair such that the effective length of the flexible arm changes, and then lines up with a clip on a mating portion of the clip. The clip with the flexible arm puts less pressure on the hair than a standard hair clip.

Hair extension tracks can be applied to the outer surface areas of an apparatus, along the upper edge of a clip member, allowing hair extensions to lie over the entire outer region of the clip. The entire outer surface areas of said clip member apparatuses can contain no holes or at least one row of holes at the top edge of a clip member, providing various means for attaching hair extension tracks. The natural hair can be secured to an apparatus by a row of comb-like teeth that point upward against the scalp when properly applied, providing complementary mating between that natural hair and the slots formed at the base of the comb-like teeth, or by placing the hair in between the apparatus. An apparatus can be opened and closed by snap-action lock.

To release the butterfly clip, an opposing pressure is applied so that the clip sections move away from the body section.

Abstract: An improved hair retention system for more securely retaining hair while reducing breakage. A barrette is adhesively secured along one surface to a soft flexible material. The material is also secured to the opposite side of the head and the exterior bodies of the barrette. The interior body of the barrette is not secured on either side to the resilient material. In operation, when the interior body is biased against the exterior bodies of the barrette, instead of metal contacting metal, the metal of the interior body contacts the resilient material, thereby reducing the potential for hair breakage. By providing the material with a nap, the hair system secures the hair more tightly as well. Other accessories, such as bows, gems, monograms, logos and the like may be secured to the back of the improved hair retention system.

Abstract: A hair volumizing device for creating the appearance of added volume to the user's hair and which is worn under a section of the hair so it cannot be seen by others. The hair volumizing device of the present invention provides a “bump” in the hair that is a desired style by many. The hair volumizing device comprises a body member and a securing mechanism to secure the body member to the hair. The body member has a first end, a second end and one or more sides and is made from or covered with a material that helps keep the user's hair in place over the hair volumizing device. In the preferred embodiment, the securing mechanism is attached to or made integral with the bottom side of the body member. A preferred securing mechanism is configured and utilized in a manner similar to commonly available barrettes.

Abstract: Fine or short hair is held in place by a barrette having a fastener material known as Velcro®, comprising hook and loop portions. The barrette comprises a flat strip of flexible material having a decorative upper surface and a lower surface. One end of the strip's lower surface is attached to the hook portion of the fastener material. The loop portion of the fastener material is attached to the lower surface of the other end of the strip. Releasable contact between the hook and loop portions of the fastener material is achieved by bending the strip about a line perpendicular to its length, with the short, fine, curly or kinky hair being trapped by and held between the complementary surfaces of the fastener material. The hooks and loops of the fastener material are closely spaced so that constraining forces are applied to individual hair filaments or small hair filament groups. Fastening is facilitated, optionally by a snap attachment.
