Abstract: A sliding sleeve opens with a deployed ball. The sleeve has a seat disposed in the housing, and the seat has segments biased outward from one another with a C-ring or other biasing element. Initially, the seat has an expanded state in the sliding sleeve so that the seats segments expand outward against the housing's bore. When an appropriately sized ball is deployed downhole, the ball engages the expanded seat. Fluid pressure applied against the seated ball moves the seat into the inner sleeve's bore. As this occurs, the seat contracts, which increases the engagement area of the seat with the ball. Eventually, the seat reaches the shoulder in the inner sleeve so that pressure applied against the seated ball now moves the inner sleeve in the housing to open the sliding sleeve's flow port.

Abstract: A pulsation control device coupling a reciprocating pump with either suction or discharge piping and having a generally spherical or cylindrical interior chamber includes a curved baffle with a pressure drop device (e.g., a choke) there through separating the interior chamber into two volumes and forcing fluid flow through the pressure drop device. The effective fluid passage provided by the pressure drop device is smaller than the fluid passage for one or both of the inlet to and/or the outlet from the interior chamber. Fluid entering the pulsation control device reacts with fluid contained within the volume thereof on both sides of the baffle. The baffle attenuates pressure pulses within fluid passing through the interior chamber in response to operation of the reciprocating pump, and in particular improves acoustic pulsation energy reduction.

Abstract: A device for regulating the delivery pressure of gases includes a valve unit having at least one valve seat and a respective closure element displaceable along an axis with respect to the valve seat which is controlled by a diaphragm. The device further includes a first spring which acts on the diaphragm in order to subject it to a preselected resilient load. A second spring is selectively activated to exert an additional resilient load on the diaphragm. The device includes a handle associated with the first and second springs in order to impose selectively the desired delivery pressure value, between a minimum value and a maximum value of pre-calibration, the pressure value being proportionally correlated with a predetermined resilient load exerted on the diaphragm.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flow adjustment valve (1) comprising a valve housing (2) having a flow channel (3) and a pipe stub (10), disposed at an angle to the flow channel (3). A throttle unit (6) is arranged in the flow channel (3) and comprises a throttle element (8) that can be actuated through the pipe stub (10). The flow adjustment valve also comprises two measuring points (14, 15) for detecting the pressure in the flow channel (3) at both sides of a throttle arrangement, each of which measuring points being connected to a pressure measuring connection (17) via a pressure measuring channel (26, 27). The aim of the invention is to improve the design options for a flow adjustment valve of the aforementioned type. For this purpose, at least one pressure measuring channel (26) is guided through the pipe stub (10).

Abstract: A control stop for a flush valve for a urinal or toilet fixture includes a housing defining a flow chamber divided by a valve seat into inlet and outlet sections. A valve structure is biased toward the valve seat by a spring applying a valve closing spring force. The housing is sealed by a diaphragm, and the diaphragm covers the movable valve structure, isolating it from water flowing through the housing. The diaphragm does not impede valve structure movement, and the closing spring force establishes a threshold water supply pressure for opening the control stop during increasing pressure following a no or low supply pressure condition. A plurality of control stops may supply a bank of flush valves and fixtures, and open in a cascading sequence during increasing pressure as a result of having springs with different closing spring forces.

Abstract: A regulating valve includes an outer housing comprised of a cap joined to a base. The housing is internally subdivided by a barrier wall into a head section and a base section, the latter being further subdivided by a modulating assembly into a fluid chamber and a spring chamber. An inlet and a 90° outlet in the cap communicate with the fluid chamber. Fluid at a variable pressure is admitted into the fluid chamber via the inlet, with the modulating assembly serving to maintain the fluid exiting the fluid chamber via the outlet at a substantially constant pressure.

Abstract: A control valve, for use in controlling fuel pressure within a control chamber, comprises a control valve member, first flow restriction and second flow restriction. The control valve member is movable between a first position, and a second position. The first flow restriction is arranged to maintain a first pressure upstream of the first flow restriction when the control valve member is in transition between the first position and the second position. The second flow restriction is positioned downstream of the first flow restriction and is arranged to maintain a second pressure upstream of the second flow restriction. The second flow restriction is dimensioned and located relative to the first flow restriction such that in transition between the first and second positions the net force exerted on the control valve member by the first pressure balances the net force exerted on the control valve member by the second pressure.

Abstract: A pressure regulator which includes a body. The body has inner walls defining an inlet port. Slidably moving within the inlet port is a hollow stem of a valve and piston assembly. The hollow stem is in slidable gas sealing contact with the inlet port. The valve and piston assembly includes a piston having a piston head with a valved opening therethrough. In the opening in the piston head is the arm of a plug. A body of the plug lies within the sliding piston held in place by a keeper spring, the keeper spring for maintaining a removed end of the plug arm against inner walls of the body. With such a structure, movement of the piston and valve assembly will be capable of unseating the plug from the valved opening in the piston allowing gas to flow from the hollow stem at the inlet port through an inner volume of the piston, through the valved opening of the piston head and into a regulated gas chamber defined in part by the inner walls of the body and an outer surface of the piston head.

Abstract: A constant flow valve is provided including a housing having a central flow passageway. The housing further includes an inlet portion, a cylindrical body portion, a frusto-conical valve portion, and an outlet portion. An obstruction plate is positioned within the housing so as to be longitudinally moveable upon a guide rod. The obstruction plate is biased by a spring for biasing the obstruction plate axially towards the inlet portion and away from the frusto-conical valve portion. The spring exerts a force against air flowing into the inlet and through the central flow passageway so as to maintain a constant flow rate due to increased pressure differential causing the obstruction plate to move axially into the frusto-conical valve portion.
