Publication number: 20130306222Abstract: A method for making a vacuum insulated glass window assembly is provided in which an amount of wet frit material is applied to a lower portion of a pump-out tube prior to insertion of the tube into a hole formed in a glass substrate of the VIG window assembly. The tube is then inserted into the hole, frit paste end first. An amount of frit may overflow the hole and form a bump/shoulder of frit material proximate the area of the hole on an outer surface of the glass substrate. Applying the fit to the tube prior to insertion and at a lower portion thereof reduces the amount of and/or avoids residual frit being deposited in an area of the tube that might significantly interfere with subsequent sealing processes, such as, for example, laser sealing of the pump-out tube.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2012Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicant: Guardian Industries Corp.Inventors: Timothy A. Publication number: 20130306233Abstract: In a method for producing fiber-reinforced preforms with a thermoplastic matrix, first individual precuts (11, 25) are generated from fiber-reinforced semi-finished products such as films, panels, webs or ribbons, said precuts are transferred by means of automated transport means (13, 27) onto a storage area and then joined by means of spot welding to form preforms.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2012Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicant: KRINGLAN COMPOSITES AGInventors: Niccolo Pini, Daniele Rogantini, Giovanni Furia

BONE REGENERATION USING BIODEGRADABLE POLYMERIC NANOCOMPOSITE MATERIALS AND APPLICATIONS OF THE SAME
Publication number: 20130304229Abstract: A structure of, and a method of producing, a biocompatible structure for bone and tissue regeneration are disclosed. The method includes dissolving a polyurethane polymer in methanol, adding hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanoparticles to form a uniformly distributed mixture, applying the mixture to a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) surface to form a polymer film, cutting the polymer film into strips, stacking the strips with layers of bone particles disposed therebetween, coating the stacked strips and layers by the mixture and allowing it to dry, adding bone particles to the coating, and plasma treating the structure to form the biocompatible structure. A weight percentage of the HAP nanoparticles to the polymer is about 5-50% such that a resorption rate of the biocompatible structure substantially matches a rate of tissue generation in the biocompatible structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2013Publication date: November 14, 2013Applicant: Board of Trustees of the University of ArkansasInventor: Alexandru S. Publication number: 20130292048Abstract: A bonded assembly to reduce particle contamination in a semiconductor vacuum chamber such as a plasma processing apparatus is provided, including an elastomeric sheet adhesive bond between mating surfaces of a component and a support member to accommodate thermal stresses. The elastomeric sheet comprises a silicone adhesive to withstand a high shear strain of ?800% at a temperature range between room temperature and 300° C. such as heat curable high molecular weight dimethyl silicone with optional fillers. The sheet form has bond thickness control for parallelism of bonded surfaces. The sheet adhesive may be cut into pre-form shapes to conform to regularly or irregularly shaped features, maximize surface contact area with mating parts, and can be installed into cavities. Installation can be manually, manually with installation tooling, or with automated machinery. Composite layers of sheet adhesive having different physical properties can be laminated or coplanar.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2013Publication date: November 7, 2013Inventors: Dean J. Publication number: 20130284357Abstract: A honeycomb-shaped panel is formed from a plurality of generally sinusoidally shaped strips of molded fiberboard material each having spaced, oppositely directed flat peaks, the peaks of adjacent strips being secured together to form a plurality of hexagonally shaped cells extending perpendicular to the surfaces of the sheet. The strips may be cut from a single sheet of corrugated fiberboard sheet material and then secured together to form the honeycomb panel, or a plurality of such panels may be secured together face to face with their ribs aligned to form a stack, and selected cuts may be made through the secured, stacked panels to form a plurality of honeycomb panels of desired surface shape and height dimensions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventor: Robert Noble

Publication number: 20130287995Abstract: The disclosure herein provides for disbond resistant stringer runouts. Various aspects may be used independently or in combination to mitigate disbonding associated with the stiffener runout under operational loads. Aspects include a stiffener runout having rounded base flange corners. A recessed notch may be incorporated within the base flange to provide a flange termination point that is forward of the web termination point, allowing the web to terminate prior to the base flange. The web may be trimmed from a full height to a reduced height at the web termination point. The base flange may be co-bonded to the underlying composite structure via a scarf joint. Perimeter clamp radius fillers may be used to concentrate a clamping force around the perimeter of the base flange.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2012Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Lyle Ray Deobald, Kenneth L.
