Abstract: An improved horizontal labeling machine comprises a shrinkable film drum, a tension device, a shrinkable film guide device, a movable base, a cutting device, a high-speed wheel, a conveying wheel, a feeding device, a conveying groove, and a thermal shrinking device. The packing object is placed horizontally in the feeding device while the shrinkable film is sent to a central guide pillar by a shrinkable film conveying device. The shrinkable film is spread out for the cutting by the cutting device, and the shrinkable film is sent to the conveying wheel by the high-speed wheel and then wrapped onto the packing object. The wrapped packing object is sent to the conveying groove and then to the thermal shrinking device for thermal shrinking. Such arrangement attains the effect of wrapping a shrinkable film onto the outer surface of a packing object.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for producing labels on continuous stock, by removing waste areas from the areas of the stock upon which the labels are printed. In one method, a layer of adhesive is applied over the unprinted label areas, the label areas are die cut, and a waste carrier is applied to the adhesive to remove the waste areas. In a second method, the stock is separated from its backing, exposing the adhesive, and a spot adhesive deadener is applied in a pattern corresponding to the waste areas. The backing layer is then reapplied to the stock, the labels are printed and die cut, and the waste area, no longer bound by the adhesive, is stripped off. The inventors perfected the present invention upon discovering that when retainer plates are bonded to or pressed against the ends of an ingot, and simultaneous slicing with a wire saw is performed along with the retainer plates, a portion of increasing variance in the warpage, nanotopography, and thickness will appear in the portions corresponding to the retainer plates, resulting in a decrease in variance in wafer warpage, nanotopography, and thickness at the ends of the targeted ingot.

The dispenser is adapted to hold a roll of adhesive tape therein and because of the decreased distance between the projections, the tape assumes a convex shape when viewed from the front end of the dispenser. The shape of the tape and position of the tabs and projections causes the tape to be biased into contact with the interior of the front end of the dispenser. Abstract: An apparatus for producing an air and moisture barrier laminate for sealing the interface between a sill plate and a foundation wall. The resulting laminate includes a compressible spacer material for placement between the top of a foundation wall and the bottom of a sill plate upon construction of a framed structure. Interconnected to a surface of the spacer material is an adhesive layer that may be selectively adhered to the foundation wall's top surface. The adhesive layer is operative to both securely attach the spacer material to the foundation wall to facilitate placement of the sill plate and to seal voids between the spacer material and the foundation wall. In a further embodiment, the laminate contains a second adhesive layer to seal the interface between the side surfaces of the foundation wall and the sill plate.

Abstract: Filter cartridges may have a core element formed of a non-filtering, self-supporting non-woven mass of indefinite length continuous synthetic polymeric core fibers, and at least one annular filtration zone layer formed of a mass of non-woven indefinite length continuous synthetic polymeric filtration fibers. The non-woven core element is most preferably formed in situ during filter cartridge manufacturing by melt-blowing synthetic polymeric core fiber streams toward a forming mandrel. The non-woven core element is completely solidified prior to the filtration zone fibers being melt-blown thereon so that the core and filtration fibers are predominantly mechanically interlocked with one another, instead of being melt-bonded thereto. Filter cartridges of predetermined length may be cut from an upstream filter cartridge preform of indefinite length by subjecting the preform to forced cooling air to thereby minimize (if not eliminate entirely) significant filter cartridge shrinkage over time.
