Abstract: This invention generally relates to a tape dispenser with automatic backing removal more particularly suited for tape and an associated backing, employing a frame and affixed thereto a tape supply spindle rotatably mounted for receiving a roll of tape; said tape supply spindle having thereon a friction disc for pressing against a rotating take-up spindle mounted to said frame and to receive the protective tape backing when the take-up spindle rotates upon an application of a pulling force to the tape.
Abstract: A postage label dispensing system for dispensing adhesive-backed labels including a face material having an adhesive backing and a liner material detachably bonded to the adhesive backing. The adhesive backing defines a plurality of longitudinal adhesive strips and at least one non-adhesive region disposed therebetween and the face material includes at least one longitudinal cut disposed adjacent to, and aligned with, the non-adhesive region. The label dispensing system includes a system for displacing a supply of label material along a feed path and a peeler guide interposing the feed path operative to (i) guide the label material between upper and lower guide members of the peeler guide, (ii) induce a bend in the liner material along an axis substantially parallel to the at least one longitudinal cut, and (iii) separate an edge of the face material from the liner material along at least a portion of the longitudinal cut.
Abstract: A sonotrode mount system is provided having at least one generally U-shaped clamp supportable at a carrier and including a web and two arms respectively elastically tiltable about a node point provided in a web region and between which an ultrasonic sonotrode is clampable. At least the free ends of the arms contact the sonotrode on a clamped sonotrode. The clamp is supportable at the carrier in the web region, wherein it is preferably supportable at the carrier in the node point of the tilt movements. Such a sonotrode mount system can be provided, in particular for the holding of a vibrating structure of an ultrasonic system which is part of an apparatus for sealing, connecting, separating, perforating and/or shaping of materials, such as in particular plastics, foils, non-woven fabrics, fabrics/textiles and/or paper.
Abstract: A tape cutting device that cuts off an empty tape, which is discharged from a tape feeder after supplying components to a component mounting apparatus by pitch-feeding a tape containing the components, by opening and closing two cutting blades actuated by a pneumatic actuator driven by a supply of a pressurized air from a pneumatic pressure source controlled by a control valve, comprising: a blade closing mechanism which closes said two cutting blades when the supply of the pressurized air from the pneumatic pressure source to the pneumatic actuator is stopped.
Abstract: An improved tabbed divider making apparatus is disclosed. The machine preferably improves upon existing tabbed divider making machines in its ease of use and efficiency. Among other elements, the machine may include a paper feeder, a processing section, and an output tray. An improved film delivery system is also disclosed, as well as methods relating to manufacturing of tabbed dividers.

Abstract: An elastic body approximately throughout a holding region of a semiconductor wafer is provided in a recess at a center of a holding table that holds the semiconductor wafer. Abstract: A coupled portion of mutual laminate films sufficiently contributes to the formation of a packaging bag in that the coupled portion itself has excellent air tightness and liquid tightness. The tensile strength required for the laminate film is given to the coupled portion, whereby a temporary stop of a packaging apparatus is useless when a connecting portion of the laminate film is passed through the apparatus, thereby enhancing the operation efficiency and improving the yield of the material. Oriented base film layers are joined in a mitre form at the coupled portion between a rear end portion and a front end portion of laminate films comprising oriented base film layers and sealant layers.

Abstract: A process and system for making a laminated surface covering and the surface covering itself are described. The covering includes several layers bonded to each other. The system performs the process. One example of the process includes passing a first material across a first conveyor, passing a second material across a second conveyor, passing a bonding material across a third conveyor, contacting the first material and the second material to the bonding material, and heating at least one of the first material and the second material. Abstract: A micro- or nano-fluidic chip fabricated with a Norland Optical Adhesive (NOA), an acrylated polyurethane-based UV-polymerizable optical adhesive. The micro- or nano-fluidic chip has sequentially an inlet, a channel, and an outlet. The channel has a pillar in the region of the outlet to prevent beads from flowing out, and the surface of the channels in the micro- or nano-fluidic chip is hydrophilic, which generates spontaneous flow in the channels by a capillary force without any extra external pumping.

Abstract: A device for draping and pre-shaping curved profiled structural components of fiber materials includes at least one shaping tool having a curved shaping face which has a profiled cross-section and which defines the outer contour of the profiled structural component. The device also includes a plurality of unwinding devices each for discharging a web-like fiber material, a device for performing a relative movement between the shaping tool and the plurality of unwinding devices for tangentially winding the web-like fiber materials onto the curved shaping face under tension, and a fixing device for finally fixing the shape of all of the web-like fiber materials wound on the curved shaping face. Abstract: A method and machine for manufacturing foam parts are provided. The method generally includes cutting a plurality of sections across the width of the base sheet, engaging and reorienting at least one portion of each section, and joining the portions of each section in a desired configuration to thereby form a plurality of parts. The portions can be engaged by actuator assemblies operating in successively adjacent work spaces across the width of the base sheet to simultaneously produce a plurality of similar parts. Abstract: Upper and lower housings nip a supporting adhesive tape that is exposed between an outer periphery of a wafer and a ring frame, thereby forming a chamber. Here, the adhesive tape having a larger width than a diameter of the ring frame divides the chamber into the upper and lower housings to form two spaces. Pressure difference occurs between both spaces such that the lower housing has a reduced pressure than the upper housing for joining the adhesive tape to the wafer.

Abstract: A knife blade guard locking mechanism, for use in conjunction with the sealing tape application rollers of a tape cartridge assembly of a case sealing machine, is adapted to be operatively connected to a spring biasing mechanism of the sealing tape application rollers such that when the sealing tape application rollers are disposed at their inoperative positions, the knife blade guard locking mechanism is disposed at its locked position so as to effectively cover the knife blade in order to protect personnel from being accidentally cut. Abstract: A method for producing an analysis tape for fluid samples, in particular body fluids, is proposed. The method comprises providing a laminate tape having a laminate carrier tape and at least one diagnostic functional layer, and cutting the laminate tape in such a way that a diagnostic auxiliary label arises; transferring the diagnostic auxiliary label to a vacuum roller; and transferring the diagnostic auxiliary label to a carrier tape. In general, at least one vacuum roller is used for the transfer of the diagnostic auxiliary label to the carrier tape. Abstract: A segmented insulative device and related kit for insulating components of a thermal distribution system, and particularly chilled fluid systems. The kit includes a sheet of segmented insulation formed by a composite layer of segmented, flexible, pre-sewn insulation that is easily cut to size in the field using scissors, utility knives or other simple, hand-held cutting devices. The composite layer includes at least one outer layer of low permeance laminate devoid of stitching and adhered to the pre-sewn insulation. The kit also includes low permeance pressure-sensitive adhesive tape as fasteners, also easily cut to length, using hand-held devices. The low permeance laminate and the low permeance pressure-sensitive adhesive tape form a contiguous outer water vapor barrier free of stitching that would otherwise compromise low permeance. The segmented insulation and the fasteners are attached to one another in the field.

Abstract: An apparatus affixes an adhesive tape to a workpiece having a cylindrical portion and an outer peripheral surface. The apparatus comprises a tape-feeding device for feeding an adhesive tape below the outer peripheral surface such that the adhesive surface faces upwardly in a direction approximately perpendicular to an axis of the cylindrical portion, a tape-cutting device for cutting the adhesive tape fed from the tape-feeding device in a predetermined length, and a tape-affixing device for thrusting and affixing the adhesive surface of the adhesive tape which was cut by the tape-cutting device to the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion such that the tape-affixing device passes through both sides of the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion from below thereof so as to elevate the adhesive tape.
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes a continuous feed variable depth die cut for use in cutting kinesiology tape. The die cut includes a housing, including a first opening configured to allow the kinesiology tape to enter the housing and a second opening configured to allow the kinesiology tape to exit the housing. The die cut also includes a roller inside the housing, wherein the roller is configured to rotate as the kinesiology tape passes over the roller and a die formed on the outer surface of the roller, wherein the die includes a cutting edge for cutting the kinesiology tape and wherein the cutting edge is formed in the shape of the strip of kinesiology tape to be cut. The die cut further includes a surface inside the housing, wherein the kinesiology tape passes over the surface when the kinesiology tape is being cut.
