Transmission Control Affects Brake Patents (Class 192/219)
  • Patent number: 10968960
Abstract: Provided is a transmission which eliminates torque loss during gear shift and with which the processing of components can be simplified. An axial force is generated in a protrusion by means of a first portion during gear shift from a low gear to a high gear, and when a low-speed transmission gear and a clutch ring separate from each other, a high speed transmission gear and the clutch ring interlock. Since relative movement of the protrusion in a neutral direction is suppressed by means of a first retaining portion during coasting, gear disengagement whereby the transmission gears and the clutch ring separate from each other can be suppressed. Since the first retaining portion can be formed in a first wall when providing a groove portion, an increase in the component processing workload can be suppressed.

Abstract: When a vehicle stops, a brake control unit maintains a braking force applied on a wheel by a braking-force application unit for maintaining a halted state. Abstract: In a method for operating a motor vehicle having an automatic transmission in the time of a selection action for a driving-mode range, first a driver's requirement for a change in the driving-mode range is transferred to a selection device, a change signal is then generated by the selection device, the change signal is subsequently transferred to a control unit, and, finally, a change in the driving-mode range of the automatic transmission is brought about by the control unit according to the change signal. In the time of the selection action for the driving-mode range, at least one braking device is actuated in an automated manner by the or a control unit. Drive-train oscillations may be reduced or avoided by the method.

  • Patent number: 6732601
Abstract: A control apparatus of an automated manual transmission includes an input shaft provided with a plurality of drive gears, an output shaft provided with a plurality of driven gears engaged with the drive gears, and a reverse idler gear engaging with gears for backward movement respectively provided at the input and output sides when a backward moving stage is selected, as a mechanism for backward moving. Further, there is provided with a bypass clutch capable of selectively transmitting or shutting a power of the input shaft to the output shaft. When the backward moving stage is selected (S1), the bypass clutch is engaged (S3) so as to stop a rotation of the input shaft (S4), and thereafter, the reverse idler gear and the backward moving gears are engaged with each other (S5). Thus, a shift operation to a reverse mode can be securely and smoothly executed for a short time.

  • Patent number: 6644454
Abstract: An executed time of a backward slipping moderation control is counted by a timer, and after a predetermined period of time is elapsed, the control is terminated. Upon the termination of the control, a control of operation of a brake actuator is executed so that a wheel cylinder pressure is decreased with a gentle slope in comparison with a normal operation of the brake actuator for terminating the control. Where the backward slipping moderation control is executed by controlling a brake fluid pressure of the brake actuator, an acceleration &agr; of a vehicle is estimated. If the acceleration is larger than a predetermined value, a target pressure P is increased, thus generating a relatively large braking force.

Abstract: A park interlock device for a land-based vehicle including a driver-selectable shifter for selecting a respective one of the propulsion modes of the vehicle is provided. The device includes a generally elongated, hollowed body. The device further includes an actuating rod configured to be axially disposed in said hollowed body. The actuating rod is responsive to increments in linear motion produced when the shifter is set to a new propulsion mode. A detent assembly is configured to securely engage into a respective one of a plurality of notches in correspondence with a selected propulsion mode of the vehicle. A plunger is disposed at one end of the actuating rod.

Abstract: A system for a motor vehicle has a motor vehicle gearbox by means of which a reversal of the direction of travel can be initiated, a vehicle brake unit which is separate from the motor vehicle gearbox, and a control unit. When there is a reversal of the direction of travel from at least one first direction into a second direction when there is still a positive vehicle velocity in the first direction, the control unit generates a braking torque which reduces the vehicle velocity, by means of an actuation unit and by means of the vehicle brake unit. The actual direction of travel of the motor vehicle is determined here by means of a sensor unit.

Abstract: The invention relates to a parking brake system for a gearbox of a motor vehicle. An electric engagement is provided between the operating device in the interior of the motor vehicle and the parking brake. The inventive system comprises a spring-type cylinder (9) for activating the parking brake and a pressure-controlled release device of the parking brake. According to the invention, the release device (10) is impinged upon a gearbox-independent negative pressure when the parking brake is released. Said pressure is preferably taken from the suction system (15) of the internal combustion engine pertaining to the motor vehicle or from a negative pressure brake booster pertaining to the motor vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicle auxiliary braking system is provided to accomplish a braking effect similar to engine braking inexpensively, to extend the life of the brakes, and to reduce the work cycle time in order to improve work efficiency. The system has a centrifugal sensor 20, an accelerator sensor 21, and a braking clutch engaging means that includes a braking hydraulic circuit 22. The centrifugal sensor 20 detects that the vehicle is traveling when the vehicle is moving at or above a prescribed speed. Accelerator sensor 21 detects when the depression amount of the accelerator pedal 6 is at or below a prescribed amount. The braking clutch engaging means engages the clutch that corresponds to the opposite travel direction when the vehicle is traveling at or above the prescribed speed and the accelerator depression amount is at or below the prescribed depression amount.

  • Patent number: 6401899
Abstract: A parking lock device comprises a parking lock mechanism (12) which locks an output shaft (1A) of a vehicle automatic transmission (1) when a shift lever (18) is changed over to a parking range, and an automatic brake device (14) which brakes the vehicle. When the shift lever (18) is changed over to the parking range at a vehicle speed is not less than a predetermined vehicle speed VSP1, a control unit (15) first operates the automatic brake device (14) to decelerate the vehicle and then operates the parking lock mechanism (12) after the vehicle speed has dropped to less than the predetermined vehicle speed VSP1. By this deceleration, the shock given to the vehicle by locking the output shaft (1A) while the vehicle is running is suppressed. The load of the parking lock mechanism due to the locking of the output shaft (1A) is also alleviated.
