Abstract: A flexible apparel with non-stitch seams and a fabrication method thereof is provided. The non-stitch seams between foamed rubber sheets are sealed by coating a liquid sealant solution containing a thermoplastic polyurethane and a plasticizer.

Abstract: Modular articles of clothing with interchangeable components include connectible and interchangeable clothing components with integrated loops and connecting elements for assembly thereof. The components have integrated loops for inserting a connecting element or strap. The connecting element has an encircling elongate member, two opposing ends with a break therebetween in a closed position sufficiently small to prevent insertion or slippage of the integrated loop therethrough. The connecting element is deformable out of the plane of the encircling elongate member to form a transverse gap between the ends in the open position sufficient for inserting an end into the integrated loop. The connecting element maintains the open position without elastic return and is returnable to the closed position by twisting the ends to close the gap upon assembly of components. A kit comprises the components and a tote bag for carrying them.

Abstract: A swimsuit comprising an inner compression layer attached to an outer layer in a free floating manner is provided. The inner compression layer shapes, contours and slims the wearer's body, whereas the outer layer provides an aesthetically pleasing design. The inner and outer layers are positioned substantially independent from each other on the wearer's body for their respective purposes. It is further contemplated that the outer layer provides an additional shaping, contouring and slimming function in addition to the inner compression layer. Left and right leg openings of the inner and outer layers may be spot attached to each other at one or more locations.

Abstract: A shower shirt has waterproof seals at its neck opening, arm openings and shirt bottom to prevent water from contacting a person's body that is enclosed by the shirt. The shower shirt also has one or more pockets sized to support post surgical devices associated with the patient such as drain tubes, bulbs, dialysis/external catheters, wound vac and infusion pumps. The shower shirt can also include baffles to provide additional lateral breast support to the patient.

Abstract: This application describes garments (2), for example swim suits or other sports or athletic garments, in which a plurality of panels (10-22 & 30-44) are laminated on the outer surface of a base layer (4) of stretchable elasticated fabric to offer (in the case of a swim suit) improved performance for competitive swimmers through a reduction in surface drag, a reduction in form drag and/or improved stability in the water.

Abstract: An adjustable bathing suit including a channel extending through the length of a waistband. An adjustable band is received within at least a portion of the channel and is attached to the bathing suit. Preferably, the adjustable band extends around the front of the hips around a majority of the waistband. The adjustable band includes a plurality of openings for receiving a button attached to the bathing suit. The button can be located at the rear of the bathing suit. An opening in the waistband is provided in the location of the button to provide access to the adjustable band contained within the channel. A flap attached to an upper portion of the waistband extends over the opening of the waistband for closing the opening. The flap can include a self-gripping material and a self-gripping material can be positioned under the flap for providing secure closure of the flap.

Abstract: A method is provided for forming a garment, including providing a fabric layer having sonically weldable material, the fabric layer having an inner surface and at least one opening region, the opening region having a periphery and an outer free edge, placing an elastic edge band having sonically weldable material around the entire periphery of the opening region, the edge band having first and second free edges and an inner surface, securing the first free edge of the edge band to the outer free edge of the opening region with a subsonic or ultrasonic edge weld to form a finished seamless edge along the opening region, and activating an adhesive along more than half of the inner surface of the edge band to secure the edge band and second free edge to the inner surface of the fabric layer.

The clothing includes sleeves, legs, and a hood connected to a back panel to form an always-open area over the child's chest. The always-open area avoids trapping material of the clothing between seat belt straps and the child's chest. Certain embodiments include a blanket that is sized to form a covering over the always-open area. Desirably, the blanket is optionally removable, to permit its use for other functions. When present, it is currently preferred for an edge of the blanket to be affixed to a visor of the hood. The distal ends of sleeves and legs in certain embodiments are permanently closed. In other cases, the ends may be optionally closed, or structured to remain open-ended. The clothing may include a plurality of layers to provide variable insulation.

Abstract: A durable cover enables a person to shower while shielding body part that is healing. The durable cover has three components: a water resistant material shaped to encircle the body part, a stretch band stitched to the water resistant material at the top end of the water resistant material and a hook and loop fastener that in cooperation with the stretch band adds to the snug fit as well as making it adjustable to the patient so that no water can seep onto the covered area. Nylon thread may be used to secure together the water resistant material and the stretch band. Making the durable cover includes steps of securing the stretch band at the top end; folding the top end over the stretch band to create a tubular passage; and attaching the first end in place with the stretch band within the tubular passage.

Abstract: This application describes a garment (e.g. a swim suit) having a base layer of stretchable elasticated fabric, the base layer having a torso portion that covers at least a part of the torso of a person when the garment is worn. An inner core layer of stretchable elasticated fabric is bonded to the inner surface of the base layer to extend around the abdomen and lower back regions of the garment. By providing a double layer of stretchable elasticated fabric in this manner, more compression is applied to the abdomen of the person (e.g. swimmer) wearing the suit, bringing about improvements in form drag. The additional support provided to the lower back and abdomen also improves core stability, which is of benefit in many sporting activities, including swimming.

The undergarment includes at least a pair of leg panels and a center panel that extends between the pair of leg panels. The undergarment is fabricated from a non-rubberized material woven that induces tension to the wearer and that enables the undergarment to conform to the wearer. The pair of leg panels each include a leg band.

Abstract: Swim tops having a friction locking cord adjustment system are described. The swim top may have a pair of friction locking adjustment terminal ends. Each friction locking adjustment terminal end may be secured to an end of one of a pair of neck cords of the swim top. The friction locking adjustment terminal ends may be slidably affixed to the opposing neck cord of the swim top to permit the fit of the top to be adjusted. The friction locking adjustment terminal ends may be comprised of adjustment buckles or slidable knots. Adjustment buckles may include two or more silicone coated pads having holes for threading the cords of the swim top. A friction enhancing pattern may be proximate to the holes of the adjustment buckles. The friction enhancing pattern may engage the cord passing through that hole when the swim top is worn to enhance the secure fit of the swim top.

When secured in place, the waist assembly wraps snuggly against the waist of the wearer.

Abstract: A water-sport garment constructed with waterproof, breathable fabric panels and waterproof, non-breathable fabric panels. The waterproof, breathable fabric is constructed of one layer of a waterproof, breathable membrane with an inner and outer layer of synthetic knit fabric. The synthetic knit fabric is treated with a durable water repellant coating to prevent water absorption yet retain heat dissipation properties. The waterproof, breathable fabric is affixed to a conventional waterproof, non-breathable fabric used in the construction of water-sport garments. Construction of garments using panels of the waterproof, breathable fabric results in greater flexibility for the wearer, due to the waterproof, breathable fabric's improved stretchiness, as well as improved comfort for the wearer due to heat dissipation from areas of high heat generation during highly aerobic water-sports activities.

One embodiment of the system is characterized by flexible plastic in a tubular shape with only one opening, which creates a water tight seal between the appendage and the system.
