Abstract: By providing a housing and a cooperating slider member cooperatively associated with each other, with the slider member being removable from the housing for simultaneously activating the housing to automatically form a three-dimensional object, a unique, hands-on, printed, visually exciting and interest generating advertising/promotional product is attained which can be used for a wide variety of promotions, including use as a mailer. The system of the present invention provides an exciting and surprising result which is not anticipated by the user, and can be produced in a wide variety of alternate forms and/or configurations.

Abstract: A disk separator device for stacking semiconductor wafers includes a first portion having a disk support surface for accepting one side of a disk and a second portion including a guiding surface obliquely oriented to the disk support surface. The guiding surface has a first edge adjacent a curvilinear perimeter of the wafer support surface and a second edge spaced outwardly from the first edge. The separator device is nestingly received adjacent other separators to maintain a desired alignment of a stack of disks and separators.

Abstract: A data disc protector and a method for using same to protect data discs stored in data disc storage cases is disclosed. Embodiments of the data disc protector comprise a protective sheet of material sized to fit between a data disc and a back cover of a data disc storage case and adapted to form a barrier between the back cover and the data disc when sandwiched between a data disc and the back cover. The data disc protector forms a physical barrier inhibiting the transfer of airborne hydrocarbons emitted by plastics in the storage case to the disc and preventing the data disc from contacting the back cover during storage. Embodiments of the data disc protector are made of a material that traps hydrocarbons. Embodiments of the data disc protector are provided with a central aperture adapted to allow installation on a hub in the storage case.

The fastening member includes a longitudinal arm upwardly extended from the bottom board, and a transverse arm inwardly and transversely extended from an upper end of the longitudinal arm.

Abstract: A case for portable electronic device has a set of substantially rigid opposing faces mounted on a hinge that fold together to enclose the device. An internal electrical connection between the device and the case is used to provide an electrical access point on the exterior of the case. The external electrical connection is accomplished through a passive electrical connector positioned on the hinge that holds the opposing faces together. Additional active electronics and batteries may also be positioned in the hinge such that the case can be operationally linked with the device contained in the case. Since many portable electronic devices are dimensioned to be carried in pockets or purses, limiting the size of a protective carrying case can be crucial to gaining consumer acceptance. The case is particularly well adapted for use with a digital music player.

A second cover also has a planar member and an upstanding wall around a periphery of the planar member that forms an indentation for opening the package. A spine hingedly connects the first and second covers for allowing the first and second covers to rotate between a closed position in which the first and second covers are aligned to protect media discs therein and an open position in which the first and second covers are separated to allow access to the media discs therein.

The package includes a panel, preferably made of paperboard material, against which a surface of the optical computer readable medium can be located to protect against damage during mailing. The panel has a coating applied thereto that has a hardness that is less than the hardness of the polycarbonate material from which the optical computer medium is made in order to prevent the panel from scratching the surface of the optical computer readable medium.
